Netanyahu avoided prison by building a ruling coalition with terrorist pedophile Itamar Ben-Gvir, who then got the job of Minister for West Bank Race Riots. In that role Ben-Gvir oversaw so many West Bank race riots in summer-fall 2023 that IDF battalions normally monitoring Gaza had to be redeployed to the West Bank to try to restore calm.

A bit soon for history to repeat itself.

OH JOY!

Ironbite-the IDF is going to collapse because nobody wants to die.
It's like the utra-orthodox Jews segment don't want to serve because their whole raison d'etre are their intense interest in religious studies, which apparently the state of Israel still supports. It also doesn't help that their education isn't too great since it's mostly centered on religious studies so it's really a question imo if they are even useful as soldiers even if you do draft them all on a large scale.

Eight years ago, Maven was the most contested project in Silicon Valley. In 2018, more than 4,000 Google employees signed a letter opposing the company’s contract to build artificial intelligence for the Pentagon’s targeting systems. Workers organised a walk out. Engineers quit. And Google ultimately abandoned the contract. Palantir Technologies, a data analytics company and defence contractor co-founded by Peter Thiel, took it over and spent the next six years building Maven into a targeting infrastructure that pulls together satellite imagery, signals intelligence and sensor data to identify targets and carry them through every step from first detection to the order to strike.

The building in Minab had been classified as a military facility in a Defense Intelligence Agency database that, according to CNN, had not been updated to reflect that the building had been separated from the adjacent Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps compound and converted into a school, a change that satellite imagery shows had occurred by 2016 at the latest. A chatbot did not kill those children. People failed to update a database, and other people built a system fast enough to make that failure lethal. By the start of the Iran war, Maven – the system that had enabled that speed – had sunk into the plumbing, it had become part of the military’s infrastructure, and the argument was all about Claude. This obsession with Claude is a kind of AI psychosis, though not of the kind we normally talk about, and it afflicts critics and opponents of the technology as fiercely as it does its boosters. You do not have to use a language model to let it organise your attention or distort your thinking.

This guy makes an important point, but it would be nice if he could make it without masturbating in awe of how beautiful he thinks his ego is. Hugging "AI psychosis". No, Claude got the attention because we know they're using it, and we know it is dangerously aggressive. Maybe outdated intel was the fatal error here. That is important, and separate from the still relevant and not at all psychotic conversation that got started about not wanting this thing anywhere in the kill chain. Even if they give it perfect intel I still don't want it in the kill chain.

So . . . is it time yet? Are we doing this genocide or is this another Trump chicken out at the last second?

It just boggles the mind that we are at the point in history where this tangerine jackass can just blithely tweet (or truth or what the hug ever) a threat of a war crime and we're all just sitting back waiting to see if we pull another Hiroshima or if he pulls another miraculous recovery from a clot.

For what it's worth, this thing called February 28 as the start date, and does work in the Pentagon now.

Has anyone been checking that 'bet on life' website or app? Have those hug knuckle twins, Trump's goblin offspring placed any bets? Has Jared?

EDIT: And a delay has been announced. While good, it's also very par for the course. I celebrate that we're not bombing a country into oblivion, but at the same time, for the love of everything, can someone get this overly fried cheeto out of the oval office?

I mean, it IS TACO Tuesday :p

Also made the mistake of scrolling through CNN's live updates and saw Lindsey Graham's comments. He's talking about Congress having to approve any proposal to end the war, but my first thought was "jive, Congress didn't give approval for the war TO BEGIN WITH!"
