I preordered, but on BBTS, not Pulse.

Pulse has burned me too badly lately.
Out of curiosity, what happened with Pulse? I ask because I have had less-than-favorable experiences in the past, but things have been alright recently. It's Amazon that I have consistently had issues with, and through whom I now refuse to order Transformers.

I have had more figures than I care to mention from them, just yeeted into storage bags or poorly-fitting boxes, and then beaten to hell and back before arriving on my doorstep. Then came trying to return the figures, only to have the replacements arrive in worse condition.

I'm curious, too. I've had nothing but good luck with Pulse, and that's always my first stop when trying to order something. I only go elsewhere if Pulse is sold out or if something is significantly cheaper on a different site.

I admit, I was curious too. Pulse certainly isn't up to the level of something like BBTS in terms of making sure you get what you ordered in great shape, but my experiences with them have been better than most of the other alternatives. Given that BBTS has its own issues with stuff normally becoming available there later, and then being either delayed further in the PoL or having extra shipping costs, Pulse is normally my #1 option for stuff available there.

My biggest complaint is that their customer service could be a lot better when there is an issue. Tends to be a slow, overly involved and drawn-out process that can end with being told they don't have any replacements available. Even that's less aggravating than the issues I've had with places like Walmart, Target, or Amazon.

Well, I tried to place two separate orders from Pulse last week. In both cases, they refused to accept my credit card information, in spite of said credit card information being the same that I have used for years. I called after the first attempt, and was told to clear my cache in my web browser. The second attempt, I used a different browser, and experienced the same problem. I sent in notice about it via e-mail, and was told that they would have their tech support people look into it...which I have absolutely no faith in, because if the tech support people at Hasbro Pulse are anything like those at my current employer, they will laze about and do nothing rather than fix the problem immediately.

And yes, I do have a PayPal account, and I did try to use it as a payment source, but a previous order using that method had problems as well. I received notification that there was a problem being charged through PayPal, and tried to reach out to Pulse to change my payment method. It took two or three phone calls, mostly because the support people I got were idiots. As things stand, I am dreading it repeating, and hoping that once I have a new card in a few months, things will go a little more smoothly.

Pulse has rejected my card more than once. Same card, some times it works, sometimes it doesn't.

On an unrelated note, when I was trying to order civil war Megatron and Bumblebee Pulse would not accept my order for over two weeks. Just an error message stating try again later.

In Japan, it's fairly easy to order from Takara Tomy. It's a bit expensive and they don't accept debit-credit cards, but there's the option (excluding toys like Unicron, Star Saber, etc) to pay via a paper bill at a convenience store after delivery.

Sounds like it's a Pulse problem more than it's a me problem then. Not that they'll do anything about it.

I've always used PayPal for Pulse, never had any issues

I don't see why anyone should. PayPal is reasonably safe and reliable. I've used it for plenty of transactions for almost two decades on several websites without problems. And yet...

Sounds more like it's your credit card company flagging those as fraud charges.

The card I'm using is a debit card. From my credit union. And the same card has been used at Hasbro Pulse for years. Why would they suddenly think that it was fraudulent?

Sorry to hear about the troubles. I've had little payment quirks with them, too. They recently shipped Outback, but before they did, they sent a "Whoops! There was a problem with your credit card" message. I knew there was nothing wrong, but still logged into my account. I saw that everything was still okay, shrugged, and Outback eventually arrived.

I think their system just has issues, and it would be nice if they could tighten that up.

Yeah, they do have some issues in their system. I found a while back that I can't just do a Paypal checkout at the first option for some reason. If I do, I perpetually get an error message and can go no further. However, if I choose to do a standard checkout, I can then pay using Paypal with no issues. No idea what that's all about, but just something I've gotten in the habit of doing now. No idea if they might have since fixed whatever it was.

Dunno. Had the same thing happen with my Debit card and PSN for about 2 years.

One day stopped working.

Years later started working again for no reason.

I've never had payment issues with Hasbro Pulse, but it really thinks my phone number isn't real, which is quite confounding.
