BBC decision to axe LGBTQ+ dating show is two steps back, say contestants.

Former contestants of a now-axed BBC LGBTQ+ dating show say they feel "frustrated" and "sad" at the decision to shelve the programme.

I Kissed A Boy first aired on BBC Three in 2023 and made history as the UK's first gay dating show.

A year later, the show's production company, Twofour, launched an all-women series, called I Kissed a Girl, before switching back to all-male cast in 2025.

Despite the popularity of the shows, the BBC has confirmed that both versions will end after the next series.

Delegates at the United Nations 70th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) overwhelmingly voted against considering a proposal by the U.S. to adopt an anti-trans definition of “gender.”

On March 19, the final day of the nine-day conference, the U.S. introduced a resolution calling on U.N. member states to officially define “gender” as referring only to men and women. The resolution claimed that the landmark Beijing Declaration on women’s rights, adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, already defined gender as “referring to men and women.”

Speaking to Devex, Jennifer Rauch, global advocacy officer at Fòs Feminista, accused the U.S. of being “willing to lie” to “push forward their own gender ideology onto people in the U.N. system.”

Transgender girls told to leave (British) Girlguiding groups by September.

1774388307904.jpeg

"The organisation that oversees girl guide groups in the UK has said transgender girls must leave the organisation by September.

It follows an announcement in December by Girlguiding that it would no longer accept biological boys who identify as girls from joining.

It said the action was being taken in response to the Supreme Court ruling in 2025 that said sex meant biological sex in equality law.

Campaign group Trans+ Solidarity Alliance described the news as "heartbreaking" for children. Sex-based rights group Sex Matters said it was "the right thing"for Girlguiding to do..."

I seriously hope one day the UK government wakes up and realizes the amount of harm they are doing to trans people.... I also REALLY hope I live to see that day.

I was rather hoping the Scouting/Guiding organisations would just combine, making the recent ruling moot (as an "eff-yu" to the whole thing).

They realise, all right. Cruelty is the point with these dreadful, heartless ghouls.

Yes, but the government isn't monolithic, People do loose their seats, though it takes the effort of the people to make that happen.

(UK) Toilets and changing rooms must be used on basis of biological sex, guidance confirms.

"Single-sex spaces - such as changing rooms and toilets - must be used on the basis of biological sex, new guidance from the equalities watchdog has confirmed.

This means, for instance, that a trans woman - a biological male who identifies as a woman - should not use female toilets or changing rooms, according to the code of practice.

The guidance, produced by the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and now approved by ministers, makes it clear that transgender people should instead be offered a third or a gender-neutral space.

The code states that leaving a trans person without access to any services or facilities would be unlikely to be proportionate and could be discriminatory..."

Yeah, that’s dreadful.

Looking through the full government guidance, it essentially bans transgender people from a whole range of NHS services as well. This is… nothing but a full scale assault on trans people existing in public life in Britain. I’m horrified that it’s a Labour government doing this.
