Yea, NATO was a defensive pact, not an offensive one .. Trump can go jump off a cliff.

NATO requires member countries to defend other member countries when they are attacked.
So, that's interesting. Hey, remind me, because I was still in high school at the time, did Bush demand other NATO countries join the war in Afghanistan on the grounds that 9/11 counted as being "attacked" by a foreign adversary? Because I seem to recall we ended up pretty much soloing that one.

Actually, no you didn't, Canada had a significant presence in Afghanistan all the way through that experience. We did not, however, contribute to Iraq (though we had 4 vessels in the Persian Gulf). The UK, Spain, and Denmark did join that coalition, as did Poland though they were not yet in NATO at the time.

wonko the sane?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

Canada actually WAS involved in iraq, as the US eventually badgered us enough that we sent a bunch of boats for logistics and communications reasons. We were on the technical and supply side rather than fighting, which is why our efforts are rather easily ignored and forgotten.

My understanding (gained through a former Canadian Armed Forces reservist) is that those four cruisers were already there for Afghanistan, which might be why the US didn't count them even if they did take on Iraq support as well.

I can't wait for the "it's a totally different situation!" cries from Trump supporters when the Ewoks are dancing in the streets over his passing and they get reminded of this.

I think there's a grand total of 0 consumer-grade routers that are made in the US? Best Buy and all the ISPs that rent/resell their routers are going to love this.

Well, Ram and SSDs are jumping in price wildly, might as well add wifi routers to that list....
