Trump 24-karat gold coin approved by hand-picked federal panel

So, that's interesting. Hey, remind me, because I was still in high school at the time, did Bush demand other NATO countries join the war in Afghanistan on the grounds that 9/11 counted as being "attacked" by a foreign adversary? Because I seem to recall we ended up pretty much soloing that one.NATO requires member countries to defend other member countries when they are attacked.
Actually, no you didn't, Canada had a significant presence in Afghanistan all the way through that experience. We did not, however, contribute to Iraq (though we had 4 vessels in the Persian Gulf). The UK, Spain, and Denmark did join that coalition, as did Poland though they were not yet in NATO at the time. So, that's interesting. My understanding (gained through a former Canadian Armed Forces reservist) is that those four cruisers were already there for Afghanistan, which might be why the US didn't count them even if they did take on Iraq support as well.Canada actually WAS involved in iraq, as the US eventually badgered us enough that we sent a bunch of boats for logistics and communications reasons.
