I haven't looked the trailer but I saw that some of rumored villains appeared in it. Did 8 Ball?!?!
I saw Scorpion, Punisher, and a bunch of red ninjas.

I STRONGLY suspect that the film will have a "Fantastic Four" type opening montage of highlights, which is where we'll probably see a bunch of those C and D-list villains that have been rumored to appear.

I wonder if that means the next movie after this will feature the Man-Spider storyline, taking it a step further...

Been a hot minute since I've seen Tarantula. After Batroc The Leaper, he was the Marvel character I figured would never get a movie appearance.

The Hand.
I know who it is :p

Worth noting that the wide angle shot of Spider-Man jumping towards the hand is clearly another "No Way Home" situation where another character is cut for promotional purposes. Either Daredevil or Hulk, IMO.

Seen SOO many theories about this film today, both likely and really stretching. That's fine and all I just hope folks don't get their heart set on a film they've imagined up to the point where they're upset when it turns out to have only been in their head.

-ZacWilliam, it looks quite good, but seen people suggest everyone from Iceman and Firestar to Ironfist are secret costars.

OMG! Sadie Sink is Firestar! /s lol

FWIW, Ironfist is popping back up on Daredevil BA Season 2, and the mere presence of The Hand would make a Daredevil appearance exceptionally likely.

Well, if they're doing some sort of Gang War like story, there's plenty of chances for cameos from other characters.

Although, I'll admit, I'm a bit worried they're trying to pack too much into this movie. We're getting a few handfuls of villains, and a few different stories going all at the same time. But, I guess we'll see. They've managed to do pretty well with this series of movies, so far. So, maybe they'll find a way to juggle everything well enough.

My guess right now is a bunch of villains (Boomerang, Tarrantula) are just quick passing vignettes to establish Spidey's solo career in a way the MCU hasn't. I imagine Frank is a recurring cameo/thorn but not a big deal to the plot. I give about 50\50 % chance of a Daredevil presence against the hand.

The main plot is probably peter brooding and wanting MJ and Ned back while dealing with "am I turning into Man-spider?" and the mind-jumper, which the general public seems to feel is pretty likely Jean Grey, but I think could honestly be almost anyone at this point.

-ZacWilliam, I mean Jean is certainly a possibility but I think there are a lot of other options that are just as possible.

Surprised Spider-Man hasn't had a Disney+ show yet.

You'd think being street level would make him more suited for that kind of thing between the bigger stuff that could be done in the movies.

So no 8-Ball? Dang!

If they can't do the Sinister Six, they can get any of the D Listers and just so the Sinister Syndicate (and put 8-Ball in there).

Man, people are just so dang desperate to see MCU mutants at this point :p I still remember rumors of the MCU Wolverine appearing in Captain Marvel years ago!

The popular theories I’m leaning towards is some version of the villain Typhoid. While a version previously appeared in Iron Fist…nobody really remembers, or cares, about Iron Fist. She would still allow for the “soft” introduction of mutants, without involving such a major X-Men character.

Because Sony and $$$$$

That’s kind of the reason I feel Daredevil has gotten the TV spotlight: he’s a “cheaper” character that can still fill that niche. That said, I find it rather frustrating that the nature of cinematic universes and streaming has resulted in the character doing a LOT less…lawyering…than the character is associated to. As enjoyable as the Arrowverse Flash series was…I still enjoy the 90s series for remembering that Barry Allen IS a scientist (or at least very smart) and doing actual CSI work IN ADDITION to the superheroics.

I mean, ALL of those characters might still appear, just as part of a larger vignette like Zac and I mentioned. Again, Fantastic Four pulled the same stunt with a LOT of the trailer’s big action sequences simply being part of a “recap”

Everything I've read says no Daredevil. So anything could happen there.

I haven't seen anything to support this, nothing at all, but it'd be fun to see Miss Marvel. She's such a cool kid, it'd be fun to see them play off each other. She'd start going into her fangirl stuff and he'd just shake his head and smile (behind his mask).

Sony has nothing to do with it.
Marvel was getting antsy about Sony's deathgrip on Spider-Man and cut a deal in 2009, where they'd let Sony hang onto the film rights if they surrendered the tv rights. Sony agreed and Disney bought out Marvel later that year, giving Disney total control of Spider-Man's tv rights.

That's why Disney's been making their own Spider-Man shows since then without Sony's involvement. Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2017, and Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man. Which has a second season coming IIRC.
Not to mention Disney+ has the complete Spider-Man tv catalogue on it.

And since Disney+ counts as tv rather than film, Disney can make whatever Spider-Man series they want on it without having to pay Sony a dime.

So why aren't we getting a Spider-Man Disney+ show? The short answer is we have one, Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.

I think this is also part of the reason that the Nick Cage series is "Spider-Noir" rather then "Spider-Man Noir"

Has anyone ever asked Tom Holland if he'd be interested in doing a Spider-Man TV series?
AFAIK Disney could do it and they wouldn't have to pay Sony anything, so long as Holland's contract for the tv show was separate from the film contract. Problem there is that he's such a big star that he's probably priced himself out of tv (or even streaming) productions.
