DNA designs retooled their Wheelie into a version of Jet Jaguar to coincide with their Godzilla Megatron kit. I didn't buy that Wheelie since it came with Grimlock stuff and I didn't buy Grimlock. How's this guy fare?
Robot mode is based largely off G1 Wheelie, with a new head and colors to represent Jet Jaguar. There's nothing else about the design that evokes Jet Jaguar, so the head and colors are doing some heavy lifting. New head's good, although it's mounted a bit too low giving the impression of no neck. The mouth grill's also kind of huge compared to every version of Jaguar I know. Articulation is okay, with ball joints at the head, shoulder, elbows, hips and feet. The knees are regular hinges. It's posable in theory but the way the feet attach makes something as simple as standing stably difficult. The fists rotate for vehicle mode but don't lock in very well. The shoulder balljoints also pop off really easily.
He comes with a small plastic piece to mount his new accessory, The Spear of Anguirus on his back. Can stay on in both modes and works well. The spear looks good, although unfortunately, Jaguar lacks the articulation to wield the spear two-handed like in Singular Point. Uses a 3mm peg, limiting usage from other toys.
Vehicle mode is kind of garbage. Doesn't look good and the arms have tabs to presumably lock into the sides of the car but they just don't work. The wheels don't even roll!
He's cheap and still managed to disappoint me. Nice colors and a neat homage but honestly, I'd rather eat sushi from a pail.
