Maybe it was a time/budget thing.

You see, I never liked this argument. Like, let me just say that I'm still playing this and I'm enjoying it. But I can still feel the input lag and feel others are totally within their rights to be pissed.

And yes, these things can be patched. In fact, they can be easily patched. There's no reason why they can't. I'm sure eventually everything will be patched and everything will be fine.

Except that a lot of people already feel burned. A lot of people have been warned off about getting this game. And a lot of these people aren't going to care anymore once it's been patched. It's too little too late. The train has already left the station.

This whole thing of "release it now, patch it later," I mean, look, I played Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 and never once thought about returning it. But that's me. That's my story. Fact is, there are other people who aren't quite so forgiving and frankly, NRS has already lost a bunch of sales they probably won't be able to get back later.

"Release now, patch later" is a poison that the industry has unfortunately ingested way too much of.

I’d almost bet real money money all the “missing stuff” ends up in a DLC pack later on

It wouldn't surprise me.

The only thing I'd really want would be MK Gold. Sucker that I am, I probably would buy it as paid DLC if they did that. And like you said, it wouldn't surprise me. But I also think they'd be inviting a lot of blowback to have deliberately left out this one game they knew everyone wanted as part of the base collection only to come back later and say "hey, now you can get it for $10." People would decry that they're milking us for more money for something that should've been part of the base package, and for once, they'd be right to do so.

Totally agree, though I'm inclined to think the directive would have come from somewhere higher up the chain.

Well, here's some good news for Steam and PlayStation players. A hotfix has been dropped that fixed quite a few things. I don't have all the patch notes with me, but one of my biggest issues has been dealt with, that being input lag. I just played it and it feels a lot better. Also holding the button to bring up the menu is a lot faster. There were some fixes for online, though from what I've seen it's still a cross your fingers and hope type thing.

Still, my biggest issue of input lag is significantly better. And at the very least, this tells you that they are working on it, which is good.

Again, though, this is Steam, PS4 and PS5. Switch and X-Box are still waiting.
