They were two completely different games, yes. Different graphics, different controls, somewhat different character rosters, different gameplay modes, different everything. The only things they really shared in common were the things from the source material. The general consensus was that the PS1 game was the more favored of the two.The N64 version must have been very different from PS1 because "confusing and clunky" is not what I remember.
Probably just a matter of finding the right person.I wish these games were better documented. Sadly the people who know how to rip game assets and the people interested in these games don't seem to have any overlap.
