Random Thoughts From Out of Nowhere

Blame the people who have to be treated like idiots. They've ruined a lot.
I do, oh how I do. And I did say it's irrational, after all!

It's bizarre to me what kinds of things this happens with, too. I get hit with the condescending BS for (at varying stores) anything from razor blades to a garage worklight to a Lego set, all under the $30 dollar mark - but I can pick up and go check out a $100 box of DVDs like a normal human being just fine.

Imagine asking for the baby formula to get unlocked. Goodness forbid you steal food for your baby.

theft is theft no matter what.

i think all theft should be punished by instant death, no trial. just killed right there.

When I worked at Target, my proposal for getting the last customers out at closing time was to give us all water guns full of bleach and let the hunt begin. Sadly, this was met with negative replies and a few "What the hell is wrong with you?"s.

I can't really speak to what would happen if we came across that, but what has been a thing in my sector of retail and part of North America has been people either stealing formula to fence overseas, or (this is less of a thing post-2020 panic buys) bulk purchasing for overseas distribution. After the events of 2008, many parents in the PRC lost faith in local suppliers, and those with the means and connections do to so began sourcing infant formula from overseas. Hong Kong, Australia, western Canada and even Europe all experienced off-and-on shortages after 2008, either due to expatriate bulk-purchases or less scrupulous locals stealing and fencing to said overseas markets.

I'm a little less sympathetic to those profiting off of desperate parents, all things considered.

I would do jive like that if I could stand Linux. I'm fine with a command line. I just hate the file system.

arch wasn't even that hard to figure out

i am disappointed, i was told it would be hard.

did have some things i had to futz with with grub after installing it via archinstall to get it to actually boot but i'm gonna chalk that up to virtual machine bullshit and i probably wouldn't have dealt with that issue if i was installing this for real on an actual PC

and then anything else i had to figure out how to do was really easy with a simple search and checking the archwiki.

(ngl i think 99% of arch's reputation comes from having to install it pre-archinstall where you very much did have to do every thing manually because like i'm not gonna say 'oh yeah arch is super duper easy beginners should use it' but like they have a whole fuckin ass wiki that is insanely well documented for help and jive. you are not without guides and help and tbh from what i've seen, most arch users are genuinely helpful if you're trying to do something and you are struggling with it)

Arch does have the best wiki. I've had to use it a few times to figure something out with Alpine.

I was looking at Jurassic World toys and I saw a mosasaurus that spits flaming Dilophosauruses. Where was this awesomeness in the bug movie?
