HasLab 2025: Liokaiser

I've come to reject the notion of labelling 3P kits as "upgrade kits" on principle. Even when I wholeheartedly agree that a kit greatly improves a figure, all the kits that call themselves upgrade kits while offering nothing remotely appealing have severely tainted the name.
We used to call them "add-on kits".
The thing is "appealing" is entirely subjective. The same problem exists with calling them "add-on" kits, as some won't see anything of value being added.
And still others will, for either term, not see the upgrading or adding as significant enough vis-a-vis the price to warrant it being called either. Like a half dozen gap fillers are a hard sell for me, but show me an alternate head or an interesting accessory (especially one that doesn't have to partsform away) and I'm listening.
It's all in the question of whether it's "enough", as technically both terms are fulfilled in that the original item didn't have x or y before, so that aspect was upgraded or added.

They were called "add-ons" as they were separate items, added onto the existing toy. It was an objective term.

Why do I look at all the little animal buddies and think that somehow after the war someone makes a lot of money with a doggie day-care arrangement for them? Doesn't help that they're all pug-dog sized compared to the robot modes of the partners...

I was and still am very happy for what Liokaiser is value-wise compared to the repaint/sometimes head remold and recycled accessories of the TFSS stuff. All new molds and it costs LESS. But I missed out due to the crowdfunding window occurring at the same time I was going in for a lot of imaging that eventually lead to surgery. Maybe I just have lousy insurance, but each run through the MRI cost me the same as a Liokaiser and eventually that ate my funding. Things have improved, I'm planning to get a Bruticus if I can, and I even swung a recent Fallen, which I hadn't planned in advance. I plan to do the toyhax stickers for extra burning-ness.
