Just been catching up on Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant!, I forgot to watch last week's ep, honestly, its a desent show so far, while it takes on the trobe of being kicked out from a party, our MC is not seeking revenge or being seriously angry about it, instead he goes and setups his own restaurant, the show tackles lightly some hard themes like slavery, depression, betrayal, it also has some funny moments, the MC is a powerful former adventurer, but he not cocky, he is a good natured person on top of being a pro chef, his compasion leads him to buy a young girl from a slave auction, but he doesn't have any dirty thoughts in mind and she becomes a waitress in the restaurant serving the customers, pretty much the poster child for it!

On a whim, I checked out Takopi's Original Sin. Do NOT go into this one blind like I did. The description, cute alien, and OP fooled me. Ep1 was hard. Ep2 beat me up w/in an inch of my life and threw me in the gutter. It's still airing, and it keeps the gut punches coming. Still, I need to know what happens.
General info on what makes this series so hard to watch:
All the adults are horrible, where neglecting/ignoring the kids is the best behavior that can be expected. The kids learn bad behaviors from their parents and each other. The kids get abused and inflict self-harm. The naive octopus alien... If you watch it, you'll see. At the very least, there's no sexual abuse, but the show is still very depressing and reflects how abuse cycles/is learned. There's a brutal twist at the end of ep2 which I won't spoil. I'm not expecting a happy end but would like a little bit of hope.... please?

It's a six-episode series, so there's one ep left at the time of writing.

There is (in theory) a possible least-bad ending, but at this point it would feel like a cop-out, and I don't think that's where this show is going.

(For those who don't know, this show is a deconstruction of Doraemon, much like last year's Dead Dead Demons Dededededestruction.)

Yeah, the "happiest" ending I can think of would be a cop out/feel pointless. It's rare to find a series for me where I can't predict where it's going. Still, I'm hoping it won't be completely dismal.

Started watching Tekkaman Blade in its original uncut form with English subs, its a older anime from the early 90s

Basic story, its the distant future, the United Earth Year 192 (no idea how that fits to the regluar calander system), humans have a massive orbital ring surounding the planet, but sadly despite it being humans greatest achivement, its controlled by mysterious aliens who are attacking Earth, during a mission for a organisation known as the Space Knights, a mysterious figure crashes to earth in front of them, he claims to have no memory of his past but he holds incrediable power that transforms him into a armoured warrior capable of moving freely in space and he is the only one capable of destorying the invaders, the invaders goals aren't clear as they are dropping mysterious plants upon the planet that grow massive, big as trees yet their purpose is unclear, at the start of the story.

I have seen the show before under the title of Teknoman but this is going to be my first time watching it uncut and in its original language, the show is voilent as its a war story, yet also the story of a man caught up in events that are far beyond normal!

The Teknoman adaption also stops at the halfway mark from what I remember.

No, it doesn't, it adapts most of the show, just cutting it down from 50 to 43, they made a bunch of OVAs and a so called second season but that is forgettable as it doesn't add much and pretty much wrecks the ending of the first season, the original Tekkaman I believe stops part of the way into its story thou I can't be sure as I haven't watched that!

There's a timeskip in the middle of the show, like SPT Layzner. Thinking back, maybe what I'm thinking of was that the US airing cut off at the midway point(the "Season 1"), and the dub may have been completed in Australia or another english speaking country. I think I remember reading something of that nature now, that the dubbing changed after the midway point so some names changed or something.

When I first watched it as a kid, far as I recall none of the names changed but there was a time skip of likely a couple of months where Blade as he was called in the dub was pretty much roaming around and generally morning the passing of his beloved little sister and from that point the show the invaders take full on centre stage as the central villans, thou the dub did change a lot of dialog from the original Jap along with the names of the characters as the Jap verison, the main character is going by the name D-boy, the D standing for danger, while the English language has him going by the Teknoman name of Blade, I know his twin brother had his name changed from Evil to Sabre, pretty much the whole cast underwent the name change including the villans, going from Radam to Venemoids! The show geniuely stuck with him as it was the early days of anime breaking out in the west and it just clicked with me, unlike Gundam where the robots are piloted, the hero becomes the mecha wearing it as armour and it was different from even Transformers as it was still showing actual war and not having problem of the week, yet it also had intersting characters, the seemingly cool and reserved MC was fresh and new. yet you could kind of sense that they were holding something back, he was more intersting than Heero from GWing as he was presented as a full blown adult, when the truth is revealled about his past, he becomes much more of a intersting character as he is forced to fight those who were once his family and friends

Random thing I needed to say, I've been loving Dandadan Season 2 but the newest episode with the Rock'n Roll Exorcism was the longest I've laughed at a TV show in a long time.

-ZacWilliam, that was wonderful.

Just caught up with the latest ep of Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show, this show is getting intersting, after a rough start, it picked up in terms of plot, the characters aren't much to talk about, the animation has been pretty smooth, while the show title has Horror in the name, its been taking more of a game show style with the villians, AKA the old ones, some anicent gods, have been treating it in the style of a game show and this is not all fun and games for the humans involved as there is real world stakes and consquences, one of the human characters is such a ahole that he is willing to do things that would be considered, unpleasent by normal standards
