They do a neat job integrating the deleted scenes into the video. I can see why most of it was cut, but they really should have left in the part where Optimus smashed Dirge/Thrust/whomever. It would have enhanced the whole Optimus turning the tide and giving it all he had that they were going for.

I also feel the Magnus and Co vs Devastator should have been kept, since he was the other big threat.
Yeah, that might have been good to keep in as well, but I can see why they cut that out. This moment here is Optimus showing up and just laying waste to the Decepticons, and from the moment The Touch starts until Optimus picks up his rifle to execute Megatron, it's all about that. Which is why I don't see why they took out that awesome moment where prime just takes out the Conehead that was coming for him from behind.
Thing is, I see that, and all the other bits of fighting showing the Autobots starting to win, as part of that. Optimus being their turns the tide, not just because he's being a big badass atm, but because his presence inspires the others, just them knowing he's there raises there morals enough to fight back with renewed vigor.
