This comes with a bunch of caveats, but, I just published a book today that I was working for about 7 years on.

Caveats:
1: It was a self publishing thing
2: It's just the test print so far that I should get in a little over a week.
3: I have no plans for mass market for several reasons. This will only be enough copies for me a friend and my parents.

But it's still published and I will soon have an actual, printed version of something I wrote. So...yay!

Car insurance is normally my biggest bill. So if this is true, I'm looking at a great month.

Step by step, this was my morning

1. Well, it'll be here by 10:00 tonight. Probably not going to arrive before I absolutely have to leave for work. No point in waiting.

2. Pull into the parking lot at work.

3. Get notification "your delivery is 1 minute away.

4. Speed back home (and I do mean "please don't let there be any cops" type speeding in the rain).

5. Don't even shut off the engine. Just hop out, grab the package and go.

6. Speed back to work and clock in, still on time.

7. Open package.

8. Wow! Walmart really hooked me up with some SourCream and Onion Pringles and a Coke!

9 Holy jive! This is the bundle version! I mean yeah, what I paid was a bit much for the base package, but I just figured that was sales tax and delivery fees. I thought they were out of the bundles. But holy jive, I got one!

After over a decade of making do with a Wacom Graphire and then eight years of making do with a Bamboo that I found at a garage sale, I finally broke down and bought a tablet with a built-in screen! It came this afternoon.

I've been waffling about getting one because they're usually over $200 and that's a big investment for something I've never had an opportunity to even try out in person. I already couldn't get used to digital sketching with my old ones (and have settled for sketching on paper, scanning it, and switching to digital for ink and color), so while in theory being able to draw right on the screen would smooth out that issue, I had no way to know for sure. But this one was refurbished and on sale for only $100 and with the tariffs looming on the horizon I knew I'd never get a better deal than that. In the couple hours I've been using it, I seem to have already adjusted to the workflow. The dot pitch is fine enough that I can still sketch at the same size as always, which is good because I feel like my ability to get proportions right scales inversely with the size I draw, somehow.

Nice! I have a tablet/laptop and cellphone that I can draw direct on the screen, but I still prefer drawing traditional. What kind of tablet did you get?

You may test that assumption at your convinience.

I just finished my last bottle of bulleit bourbon. It's the last of my american booze: I'm getting drunk on canadian only products from here on out.
