I believe they're doing OPs for MP continuously because the market in Japan is getting smaller and smaller. Even in MP, they're basically circling the drain and rehashing OP and trying to squeeze every Yen they can before Takara gets bought out by Hasbro or someone else.

I went ahead and put in a preorder. This Optimus does it for me. I don't need the trailer, he comes with accessories that I like. He'll be my MP Prime and I'm cool with that.

I really like how the back part is more realistic. Since I already have MP44 (and Faith Leader) I didn't need them to drill in harder on Sunbow. For me, I have really liked the last bit where they were really into Sunbow, but Prowl and Sideswipe were fine. I don't keep a list in my head of what we are still lacking from TakaraTomy, but if they are going to pick up and continue, I hope they are still as close as Prowl and Sideswipe. I feel like this Prime is.

How tall is he as Super Ginrai? Can you post a size comparison pic with another non-MP figure, perhaps of similar height?

Wow. He's pretty short for MP scale.

Wait, does this mean he's roughly the height of MP Star Saber? I don't know how I feel about that since it's supposed to be the taller God Ginrai, rather than Super Ginrai, who's Star Saber's height.

New mold or old?

Hauler gives me a headache. One single appearance the entirety of his existence and they make him a different color.

So back to LGI's point, how do you feel about molding differences between Prowl and Smokescreen, or between Sideswipe and Red Alert? Specifically as it relates to their vehicle modes. Because yes, Hauler is just Grapple run through the season 1 character model filter, just with no robot mode ever seen.

If you're OK with those other characters sharing a mold, then Hauler is just Grapple. If you're not... well, then you were bound for disappointment anyway. I can't see TT paying to significantly remold Grapple to release him as essentially Grapple, now with a slightly different vehicle mode.

And Grapple already came with both his orange and black helmets, so if one wanted to, one could theoretically buy two Grapples and use the orange one for Grapple and the black one for Hauler (or vice versa).

Roadhauler having Grapple’s head really pisses me off.

It pissed me off on the Velocitron release and it still pisses me off now.

He should have the Inferno headsculpt as his G1 E-Hobby release did. Which *yes* if one wishes to be pedantic is the Grapple head but that was pre-anime styling.
