Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

It's so weird to me that a handful of folks are just absolutely fixated on this take, as if every other TF comic universe was G-rated sunshine-and-rainbows.

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

Amazon continues to eff up digital subscriptions. Transformers #15 and 16 weren't made part of the "series" on Amazon, and so I didn't get them. I did buy 15 later, but I'll probably wait until 16 drops in price at this point.

    November 11th 1999

I think I came onboard in Jan/Feb 2000 as TheGuruNow. I had been hanging out at somebody's website where they hosted a simple forum. One of the members (a "MisterOptimusPrime" or something like that?) linked to this place and I've been here on-and-off ever since. I feel like the EZBoard version...

Transformers: One - New Animated Prequel coming September 20th, 2024 - New Toy Official Images!

Finally saw this over the weekend. A tangent on the topic of people just not going to movies as much anymore: the last movie we went to was Dune Part II last summer. About 75% through the film, the picture started to break up and we had to wait 20 minutes or so while they rebooted the equipment...

40th Anniversary Trading Card Series & Kickstarter

I do love the comic focus on this new card set. (Reminds me I should dig out my old 80s TF cards and put them into my new card binder alongside my old Jim Lee X-Men and X-Files cards. And now I'm curious what my brother did with his TMNT sets from back in the day...)

40th Anniversary Trading Card Series & Kickstarter

That's all waaaay too much, but I am still excited to pick some of these up at, say, Target when they come out. I'm crossing my fingers for a per-pack retail price of around $5, not sure I can justify much more than that on 10 random cards. The Kickstarter seems to bear this out, as the...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

Consuming animals for energy?? In a comic book?!? The horror He doesn't seem to move at all through the flurry of "time passes" panel changes, so this seems plausible. I mean, DWJ literally says in the letters page that he always hated BB and preferred Cliffjumper, so he chose to immediately...

    Transformers Legacy toyline

I think it'd be hilarious if this Straxus mold did see a mainline release... but remolded with the Stupid Sexy Straxus head. :D

Transformers: One - New Animated Prequel coming September 20th, 2024 - New Toy Official Images!

This actually reminds me a bit of Brian Ruckley's early IDW run, which is kind of a neat thing to feel nostalgia for.

    Transformers Legacy toyline

That robot mode is gorgeous. It's really too bad the vehicle mode (which isn't terrrrible) looks nothing like his old Viper form. (And I know haterz gunna hate, but that original Side Burn toy remains one of my favorite TFs to transform. Yes, it's ridiculously fiddly, but there's a certain joy...

Energon Universe - ongoing Transformers and G.I. Joe comics from Skybound

Anyone else digitally subscribed to Void Rivals through Amazon/Comixology and not get #8? Usually you get charged for an issue a week or two in advance, but it looks like my subscription hiccupped and paid for #9 early (two weekends ago) and skipped #8 entirely. I suppose at this point I'll just...

    The Repaint Concept Thread

I'm sorry, but "Here's 12 new toys redecoed as 12 old toys"--while perhaps the sanest/safest course of action to take with a MW-themed convention set--is by far the most boring option.

The second iteration of IDW Transformers is one of my favorite pieces of fiction

I didn't mind the slowness. I think Ruckley wrote the slow buildup better than he did the action, which got a bit samey towards the end. I loved his penchant for grabbing characters from absolutely anywhere and mixing them all up. It would have been really interesting to see where he would have...
