You can clearly see it's post-Transformers the Movie since he's dead, it says it comes with Ratchet's body. I also want to see what's on his secret film. I expect it to be scandalous scenes with the Warners.

Wakko: "HeLLLOOOOOO NURSE...uh..."
Yakko, frozen in mid-hug: "Something is wrong...something is terribly wrong..."
Dot: "I hear Doctors have quite the income..."

Ratchet says nothing, because he's dead.

I feel like this almost assuredly is going to be Soundwave, Starscream, or Megatron.

Before Ironhide, sure. After? We're probably gonna get like the Seekers based on Earthrise/Classic bodies and just an entirely new Megatron that still becomes a gun.
I meant "safest" for Takara to make. As in, he's the easiest one for them to add more articulation to.

Plus, with him comes the obligation to make all of his cassette buddies, so that opens the door wide for a whole bunch of little dudes all at once.

I still want to see a ridiculous Missing Link Seeker, but only if it's a return to form after Ironhide.

And again, I say that idea of "safe" has passed when ML Ironhide exists.

IIRC there was a "leak" that said ML Soundwave was coming so I'd expected this to be him.

I don't think Megatron and the Seekers are happening because doing those G1 toys again with modern articulation (and fully integrated transformation in the Seekers' case) seems like a near impossible task.

And yeah Ironhide and Ratchet show they're willing to do all new designs but... I kind of think they're special cases due to how out there and weird those designs were in the context of the G1 Transformers line.

G1 Megatron and the Seekers aren't incredibly bonkers designs, they're about on par with most Diaclone and MC figures from their era. They're just very difficult designs to reverse engineer modern joints into.

Even then, I think Magnus gave them more to work with. I can see things working out for Megatron, though, as ball joints and universal joints could be made to work in that space.

The Seekers idk much about, but I remember being very surprised getting back into the fandom (never having seen most of the original toys) and discovering that the FISTS were add-ons. Probably doable to have them flip out of the fuselage or something (or stay in so the slip-on fists can be used instead). Maybe have the wings on a bracket so they can be raised up to be above the shoulders instead of at the waist. But this may be stepping a bit away from the original.

I'm just hoping they hew closer to the Sunstreaker end of the design spectrum than the Ironhide. Keep the jank and just add a bit of range of motion.
