Maybe New Prime is Primal Prime. Not intended as a joke, there are rumors that SDCC is remaking the Throne of the Primes, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to get an extra use out of the tooling while it was set up. Mostly because the mold is there and is cheap to reuse.

I think the only original mold we know of for these two waves is Swindle. I think possibly New Prime and Unicron Soldier are remolds or recolors from existing leader molds from Legacy or AotP given so much of the Voys/Deluxes from these two waves are PRs or simple new remolds/recolors of existing stuff. Leaders molds for Legacy/AOTP:

Clearly, you aren't the only one."New Rodimus" always made me think of Inferno cosplaying as Hot Rod.
I'd love to get an official New Rodimus. I'd especially love a nice big one that could combine with Star Convoy, but if an Inferno retool is the best we could get, I'd live with that.
I love the idea and it's like 80% there.... but that's not gonna cut it for me for that price.
I don’t think they recolor / retooled that mold enough.
I'd love to see Primal Prime, but my concern is that they'd just go straight-repaint, which would mean the open mouthplate like the toy, rather than the closed one of the comic where I got into the character. XP
Of course, the PotP mold wouldn't be able to do this, either...
You know, despite having read the comic and looked at Primal Prime many times. I somehow never actually registered he had the full faceplate. My brain is weird sometimes. So a new version of PP with that head would be nice. Plus, it now kinda makes me want a new Sentinel Maximus out of a (potential) now Armada Overload.
Primal Prime should have been done from the start. I missed out on the 3P version of him (and an OSKO version never came out) so my KO of the original is my placeholder (which has got a faceplate).
I think the mini-version of him (which combines with the "trailer") would not be as jarring as they were for the other two releases (effectively just being armour over the core figure), especially if it was clear red plastic (like the Botcon version?) and I'd even buy the upgrade kits for it again.

True. But if not for 3H, he wouldn’t even have a character. I mean, Primal Primr has had nothing since then. Even Apelinq has more than him.
If the alleged new Throne release were in that deco, I’d be happy. I missed either version of the POTP Optimal figure.
