Dallas Voters Report Being Turned Away After Republicans Changed Polling Place Rules
Texas voters are reportedly being turned away from their usual polling places after Republicans rolled back the use of countywide vote centers.
Dallas County voters are
being urged to check their voting locations before heading to the polls Tuesday for the state Senate primary and attorney general elections.
The Texas Democratic Party said Williamson County is also affected, and put the blame on Republicans.
“It is important to stress that vote centers were conceived by Republicans and, now, they are rolling their own conceptions back,” Amanda Lugo, Voter Protection Director for the Texas Democratic Party,
said in a statement. “We are urging voters in Dallas and Williamson Counties to make a voting plan. Please vote early at a countywide vote center if you can or confirm your precinct number and assigned precinct polling places if your [sic] plan on voting on Tuesday."
