HAH! I just realized that the pins for the hips are the 'headlights' of the fake Jeep front...

If I ever can get this I am putting Swindle's arm gun on the truck and using any ports on the trailer for the guns from the old Accessory Pack and call it a kiosk. Especially if Onslaught doesn't have his own.

Edit: Oops, may not be an option...for some reason his ports are odd rectangles, NOT 5mm ports. Figures Swindle worked out some proprietary connection to lock in customers...

Around here, with hundred buck Onslaught, $43 Swindle and Brawl, $28 Blastoff, and tax, even without shipping it will cost me about $230, give or take a few bucks. More if BBTS is my only source later. But like it or not, I can't swing it right now. I'm not trying to be one of those 'I'll wait for sales!' people who then gripe, but I just paid property taxes and then spent Onslaught's price+ on the prepayment for my next MRI. I do want it, I love these designs, and I have Vortex. I'm just going to, like I noted, keep an eye out for later. If I do miss it, that will be the FOURTH time (Energon, War For Cybertron, Combiner Wars, this) that I missed out on having a complete Bruticus. It's like I keep getting one part. I have a CW Swindle, for example. But we'll see. This is the best one I've seen, so far. I may luck out!

This is the Bruticus to get.

I'm so impressed. Third parties ruined combiners with the lazy frame approach, and people defended it saying the benefits outweighed the laziness. Takara is showing that you can keep the benefits and take the laziness out of it.

I'm passing on Bruticus for now. I have the CW one and I don't NEED a new one, despite actually really liking it, especially the individual components.

That said, I would probably buy me a Ruination repaint. I don't have any particular love for R.I.D., but being a different set of characters, I can justify it in my own mind better. Plus, a Tuesday Morning KO of Ruination was my only version of any type of Bruticus for many years, so I have some nostalgia for the color scheme.

I had the G1-ish Runination KO too, he eventually crumbled to dust. But I could see it being the 'go to' next recolor for the molds, especially if they redo the Gigatron. 10-ish changer.

Thing is, Ruination is either going to give you the wrong Commandos that are just lazily done, or they're gonna have to remold if not completely redo at least half the team. Brawl and Vortex are the only ones that need little to no remolding. The Commandos are based on the toy looks of the combaticon molds, which the g1 cartoon Comabitcons look nothing like.

A retro-throwback to the 'head remold and recolor of a close-enough mold' days of the Botcon and TFSS packs? And I don't understand how Swindle's arm gun fits on the front of the big gun, since there's no peg, but this does answer my question of if Onslaught's own gun is part of Swindle's pack. Apparently not. Glad I did save the accessory pack stuff for a possible future add-on even if it doesn't fit on the kiosk.

Honestly, I'm not very familiar with their cartoon models, having never watched more that a small bit of the cartoon. With that being true, I could see a lot of people being unhappy with a straight up repaint or slight remold. I wouldn't be one of those people, but I have to admit that I'm a pretty small demographic for Hasbro to try to appeal to.
