So I'm curious here. Has no one here talked about the Snake Lair crowdfund finally going live again? Are we against it?
Honestly for the price they want I understand completely. 300 is steep for what seems to be a slightly better playset than Grayskull or Snake Mountain. Not to mention the addition of S&H.

I wouldn't worry about if anyone else is for or against it, I'd preorder it if you like it and can afford it. I won't because I can't afford it (though I do like it a great deal). It's the lack of money and space for me, same reason I don't have a Snake Mountain or Fright Zone. I think the playset itself is awesome.
I would buy it for $90 to $140 at retail. I can't justify $300 backing it.

I do wish I could get a Fright Zone for one weird thing. I have no connection to it or what it's about except knowing it's the Hoard base, but I took one look at it and thought the modern remake would be a great Mumm-Ra tomb.
I think the only pre-existing He-man base-thing I'd like them to do at this point is the Slime Pit. I LOOOVED that thing as a kid.

Not a base, but I'm surprised we still haven't seen an Attack-trak. I feel like it was one of the most common vehicles on the show!
Isn't the Snake Lair a much more limited crowdfunded production run than the mass retail release of Castle Grayskull and stuff?
As for bases, I'd love to see that cartoon-accurate version of the Fight Zone they were showing off.
Not that I'd be able to get it, but I'd love to see it. And if my fortune ever takes a serious upswing, buy it someday.

It was, but besides the wheels, it looked virtually nothing like the toy.

I loved the Slime Pit! The only problem is that modern Origins figures have so many little joints that would probably not play nice with the goo. Likely, the slime pit would come with clip on green slime effects, rather than actual slime, though I'd be in favor of that anyway, seeing as running out of slime was a constant issue (I really did overuse it).
I'd think the way they're generally all removable would make them easier to clean.
“Slime” is still a messy thing, and I’m not sure is much of a “driving force” in a collector themed product for it. In addition, I’m not sure Mattel wants the hassle associated with testing a compound and making sure it doesn’t adversely effect the years of products they’ve made, nor how the various paint materials might reactive with said compound. That’s in addition to any long term support issues with providing refills.
It’s a “messy thing” in almost all aspects. I think effects pieces are safer, though they could probably do a “Slime Zombie He-Man” figure for a pack in. As is, given the strong presence of a “Foot Clan” Slime Pit in the MOTUxTMNT, I’m utterly shocked Mattel didn’t do one for the crossover (with retool potential for a classic version).

They could make one of those "fake/magic cup" containers (which look like they've got liquid inside them) to give the illusion that figures inside them are getting slimed?
Cool idea. Are you thinking of the teapot type things with two layers of plastic and something between them? A window with that kind of feature could be fun.
If Mosquitor is any indication, I'm not sure I'd trust modern Mattel to handle internally contained liquid reservoirs (I don't have one, I have seen them dribbling out onto a shelf, it looked like the figures were bleeding)...
Oh, I thought we were talking about an Origins Slime Pit, not Masterverse or something.
The clear plastic cups with basically another, smaller clear cup inside it. Then, between the two cups is some clear liquid with glitter suspended in it.
It then looks like you can "drink" the liquid but it never empties.
I mean, as it stands, the entire BRAND of Masters of the Universe is collector-oriented. Much like GI Joe.
While ACCESSIBLE to younger audiences, the brand (either Origins or Masterverse) is very much oriented to a collector audience. Because I know KIDS sure aren’t asking for a Thundercats crossover.

Kind of odd that she has purple hair whereas the others have black. The articulation is pretty much what you expect from Origins (pretty good but not on the same level as versions like Classics or Masterverse). She also doesn't come with any weapons or the sheild. On the good side, it comes with the cat form and the mask looks good up, down or removed. But to remove the mask, you have to take the head off.
2. Got it loose on Ebay. I assume it's Classics.
I had to buy the mask seperately and is tight enough that it only works when it's down or removed. Points for better articulation and detailed sculpt.
3. Masterverse.
The mask can snaps on via slots on the side of the head which are very visable if you take the mask completely off. But you can wear the mask up or down. Articulation and sculp details are really good (except for the slots on the side of the head).
4. Vintage I bought loose at a vintage toy store
Came with a sheild but not much else. But being bought loose, you can't expect too much. It...exists. It doesn't look like any other version (cartoon, toy or otherwise) that I've ever seen.

The weird thing is, the Ninja Turtles crossover made the BEST Shredder and Krang I ever saw in toy form (the only two I got from the line, switched out one of Shredder's hands with a gripping one so he could use two weapons). The Thundercats crossover is similar with Lion-O and Mumm-Ra.
Edit: In my own head the upper body harness will be a simple carry solution for the Sword of Omens because, in the magic-saturated environment of Eternia, it never goes dormant and won't shrink. Also, I don't have a picture yet but the claw shield can hang from a peg attached to Lion-O's traditional style belt, which also means when it's being worn, you can have him carry his own severed hand (or someone else's) hanging from his waist by the wrist peg since they decided to make it a swap-part.
