Image via Wikipedia Some sad news this week, as Hasbro has announced that it is moving to Boston from its longtime home in Rhode Island. By the end of 2026, around 700 employees are expected to make the transition with the company to the new headquarters, located in Boston’s Seaport District at 400 Summer Street, where they will have seven floors across 265,000 square feet to play with. Not everyone is celebrating, though. The Hassenfeld Brothers, Herman, Hillel, and Henry, founded the company in the city of Pawtucket all the way back in 1923, and it has been a staple of the community ever since, supporting the community by providing jobs, recruiting from the state's colleges and universities, and donating to local charities, such as the Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Rhode Island Special Olympics, which they said they will continue to support. Despite this, the Mayor of Pawtucket, Don Grebien, had this to say: According to Boston Business Journal Executive Editor Doug Banks, the folks in Pawtucket were even willing to go so far as to offer the company an undeveloped parcel of land in Providence for the low, low price of $1 USD. You can't even get a BotBot for that cheap. "They even as of last week, they were scrambling to offer economic incentives, but in the end, it wasn't enough," Banks explained. Two Transformers conventions would be held in Rhode Island, thanks to the company's ties to the area. The first, BotCon 2007, included a tour of the company. The second, HasCon 2017, would celebrate all of the company's brands. It would be the first as well as the last of its kind to date. Time marches on, but this truly marks the end of an era. Feel free to discuss this further in the comments below, or over in the "Hasbr-uh-oh" thread in our forums! It's time to play the game! No, not that one... or that one... or that other one. No, this is an all-new game! Picking up from last time, Big Grim has joined our heroes on their effort to get the heck out of here... wherever "here" is. However, they run into Megatron, and he's not nearly as nice this time as he was when he ran into Bumblebee. See for yourself in the latest episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, "What Goes Up": What's that all about, then? And hey, new character debut, too! As always, you have thoughts, and we have ears. Well, eyes. Look, just say something about how your favorite team won (or didn't) in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Chops R Us" thread in our forums, and someone will be sure to see it. Unless you're reading this like, a year from now. Or maybe even a week. I dunno, I just work here. Note: No hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this headline. Eight waves in and still surprising fans. Blokees pivots back to the regular scale with new official pics of wave 8 of the standard Galaxy Version series. "One Shall Fall: The Final Clash Returns" (how final is final) brings a new wave of blind-boxed 5.5" kits features Optimus Prime, Hot Rod, Blitzwing, a T30-looking Metroplex, Sludge, dino mode Sludge, "Sharkticon", and Shrapnel -- and the original 86 Grand Mal, Unicron's Head (with little Autobot shuttle)! This series' hidden figure (1/36) is the half-dead Semi-Sleeping Optimus Prime, which may be the most relatable Optimus Prime has been in a while. A look at the order page on the Blokees website makes clear the neat accessories these figures come with in addition to their usual sidearms (which are also featured in these promo shots): Shrapnel includes a wee insect-mode Bombshell, Metroplex has a tiny Optimus Prime whose call he can heed, Hot Rod includes Fishing Rod so he can go fish for a whopper (and catch a teeny Sharkticon instead), and dino Sludge has his pop-out eyes so your Devastator (however you got the parts) can reenact the movie. Also of interest is some innovation in the pieces and articulation. On the website, Hot Rod is used as the demo piece to show off new articulation (new ab crunch joint, drop-down hips, side to side waist bends, thigh swivels, double-joint knees), and the official Blokees Twitter/X account has shared a video showing off the new articulation as demonstrated by the Optimus Prime figure. Are you excited to complete your Dinobots display, or update your Optimus, or go fishing with Hot Rod? Allspark Forums Discord Server Twitter/X Facebook Page Bluesky Instagram

"I can do the 'Superhero Landing' pose, now that I have knees for it to ruin!" I know what you're thinking: "Oh Primus, why are they letting him do this again?!" To which I say: Don't be such a SpoilSport. That's the Targetmaster's job. Anyway, Markclonus is back, showing off what to expect from the next round of toys at some point in the not-too distant future, and I'm back to make stupid jokes while sharing them with you. It's a win/win. "This symbol of our freedom and liberty makes for excellent cover. Like a shield, you might say. I wonder why no one has ever thought of doing this sooner?" or "Hey, wanna check out my guns while checking out my guns? Yeah, I'm dual-wielding, and I'm not even a Double Targetmaster!" "A properly rotating point of articulation is a wonderful thing to waist!" "You can just call me Drew Carey, 'cause I've got a parting gift to thank you for playing!" "Why are my blasts a different color now?" "Look, SpoilSport. Everything the light touches is our kingdom." "Dude, 'Kingdom' was like, so four years ago." "Haw-haw! Mr. 'My Gun Doesn't Turn Into A Little Dude' can't keep up!" "Targetmasters! Transform, and--" "Ahem." "Sigh, fine. And you, too, Crosshairs. Roll out, or whatever." "Huh. You look bigger than I remember." "Funny, I was just thinking the opposite about you." "Would you like to go bug some dunes?" "Would I?!" "First person to make a 'Cheese Wagon' joke gets it right between the eyes... once I figure out where my gun wandered off to." "Clear your schedule for Monday nights, because I'm bringin' back Nitro!" "So I may not be especially toon-accurate, but I'm me-accurate, and that's what counts!" "Kids, don't try this at home! ... Are your parents gone yet? Good. Now, you should totally try this at home!" So, what do you think? Does this release seem like a sure thing, or do you think they need to take another shot at it? Tell us in the comments below, or in the Age of the Primes thread on the good ol' Allspark forums! Until next time! There hasn't been much said about Transformers: Reactivate in a while. Which makes sense -- people don't tend to talk about cancelled video games as much as those which have actually come out, or are still in development. Still, people are talking about it, especially when new pieces of would-be lost media tend to emerge, such as an early build of the game from RoboGamer1HD a few months ago. But RoboGamer1HD isn't the only one who's been peeling back layers of mystique like an onion, as the YouTube channel TFR Archive has also been doing some digging. And the latest fruits of their efforts? What would have been the E3 2020 trailer for the game back when it was called "Transformers: Rise": From the description on YouTube: For those of you too young to remember, shame on you for making me feel old. But also, E3 -- more formally known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo -- was a trade show formed by the giants of the video game industry of the '90s after they basically got tired of the shoddy treatment they received at the hands of the folks running Consumer Electronics Show. Yep, that's right. They decided to make their own trade show, with blackjack and booth babes. Lots of other spectacle, too. Anyway, thanks to the rise of the internet and instantaneous information, questions of E3's relevance began to creep into the minds of all who partook, and in 2020... well, let's just say lockdowns and social distancing were not very conducive to shaking hands and having hundreds of people laying their sweaty mitts on the same controllers throughout several hot summer Los Angeles days in a row. (Trust me, I know. I've been there.) Incidentally, the Consumer Electronics Show still continues to this day, while I'm having to explain to you here today what E3 was. Funny how life works out, though I don't think you need to feel too sorry for the folks in the gaming biz -- the very thing that helped kill it is allowing them to continue to thrive without shelling out thousands for floor space, so I guess it kinda worked out. Anyway, yeah. If there wasn't a pandemic in 2020, the above is what you would have seen that year. Pretty cool, huh? If you're interested in a more detailed look at the troubled history of the game itself, TFWiki has a nice entry. And if you're interested in more of the game itself, or what it was shaping up to be, those TFR Archive guys I told you about earlier? Yeah, they have more where this came from: A story intro and tutorial video, and three cutscenes featuring Starscream, Ratchet, and Bumblebee, so go give those a gander if your interest is piqued. So, what do you think? Is it better than how it debuted to the world at The Game Awards? Or do you think the "Oh, wait, this is actually a Transformers game? Huh, neat" approach was the right way to go? Well, you can share your thoughts in the comments below, or you can hitch a ride through this link on over to the "Transformers: Reactivate (console MMO)" thread to "rise" up and "reactivate" the conversation there! That's right. Snarl knows what you've been doing when you think no one else is around, no one is looking... In Episode 7 of Transformers: Cyberworld, "Hunter vs. Hunted," the Dinobots are back, and Optimus Prime issues a challenge to Big Grim. But is he going to be the hunter, or the hunted? Spoiler: Yes. What does that even mean? Well, you'll just have to watch to find out! So, what do you think? Does it just tick you off that this entire series is about being stuck in a video game (or something like that, at any rate), yet there's no actual video game in which to recreate some of the matches we've seen in the show thus far? Well, you're not alone! You won't get help, but you can vent about that, or gush over what you liked about this episode in the comments below, or in the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Optimus rollin', Grim hatin'" thread in our forums! Looks like Megatron isn't the only one with his own city around here! In the fifth episode of Transformers: Cyberworld, "Screamer City Arena",our gang of heroes (and Mirage) are now infiltrating Starscream's stronghold. Can you believe it? Who would put this guy in charge of a city? Well, he would, for starters. And he handles it pretty much exactly as you think he would. But don't take my word for it, the episode is up, hot 'n ready, so check it out! As usual, despite the stupidly bloated runtime for YouTube, it'll only take you about five minutes to watch: Y'know, the YouTube title reads "Bot Battle Royale," but I think they're about 95 bots short. I mean, I get that this is probably operating on a shoestring budget (and doing a fabulous job with it, I might add -- better than some bigger budget productions, in this writer's humble opinion), but come on! Don't promise what you can't deliver! But enough about what I think, we want to know what you think! And you can tell us in the comments below, or by heading on over to the "Transformers: Cyberworld, Starscream City" thread in our forums!
