I can't recall who, but I know that someone here once built a MAME arcade cabinet, and since I am planning on building one myself, I thought that I would start a thread about it and see if anyone had any advice our just interest in seeing how this project will progress.
Now there are a couple of routes that I can take with this at this point. I can build a two player cabinet, using some Xarcade parts, an old tv, a PC, and a constructed frame. It would turn out looking something like this:
Granted, there won't be a volleyball girl in a bikini, but that isn't too bad of an option, as its the cheaper of the two options I am considering.
The second option is to create something more along the lines of this:
Granted, I wouldn't do that extent of graphics on the cabinet, and I wouldn't bother using LED lit buttons, but having four player option for games like X-men, Simpsons, and TMNT would be pretty nice. Also, having a new LED screen for more modern gaming would be awesome as well. This would require more money for the LED display, having to custom build the controls, and more wood for a larger cabinet.
I have to admit, that I am leaning towards the four player route, but I was wondering what are your guys/gals opinions?
