I also go through all the trouble of looking for a pleco a cave that looks like a cave and not a plastic cinderblock and it prefers sleeping on a leaf. DOubt it can do that for much longer though since it's only going to get bigger and heavier.

Monster fish keeping's been a thing here in the Philippines for as long as i can remember. My dad had a redtail catfish that lived in a 120 gallon tank and eventually had to be moved into a former septic tank converted into a pond. We started with two but one died when it was smaller. Also, nah, just visited the petshop hotspot looking for a decent filter since the common china-made once are kinda crap. Also kinda looking for assassin snails. Saw a bladder snail in my tank and those things never come alone.
Gars, stingrays, flowerhorns and oscars are fairly common. I've seen goliath tigerfish and piraiba for sale too. Not sure if it's legal but I guess the bright side of living in a third world shithole is that the gray areas are pretty huge. Should be a crime to sell pets that grow bigger than their owners though.
Literally every petshop has silver arowanas for sale. Probably due to the Chinese community. We never had one since my dad's big on feng shui and his Chinese zodiac sign isn't compatible with dragons which arowanas apparently are. Bichirs too probably. Not sure about where snakeheads fall under in their mumbo jumbo.

Saw Joker again today. Decent film. Will never not amuse me that after all the bullshit the media was spewing about this movie and violence, Frozen 2 of all things has a higher body count.
sounds like someones had the " no we are not getting a Sulcata Tortoise talk. "
TBH, I dunno why anybody would want one when you can get the Mediterranean Spurred Tortoise which is basically the same thing but way smaller and cuter and you can keep a bunch of them for the same space and resources.

A tortoise isn't a pet, it's a lifelong obligation. And probably someone else's obligation, too.
