@  Maximus Ambus : (29 September 2020 - 01:35 AM)

Ever notice Kath SOucie's Janine in the later episodes of Real Ghostbusters sounds like Tara Strong's Sari Sumdac?

@  Maximus Ambus : (28 September 2020 - 02:10 PM)

I wish they were more universal like Beast Wars, Animated or Prime and as professionally done,

@  Maximus Ambus : (28 September 2020 - 02:06 PM)

The Netflix shows are done for adults, the Generation toyline is for adults who grew up with G1.

@  Sabrblade : (28 September 2020 - 12:53 PM)

Who said it ever was?

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 September 2020 - 12:43 PM)

Whatever happened to WFC Earthrise being a kids show X'D

@  wonko the sane? : (28 September 2020 - 11:43 AM)

Cool, my last tablet couldn't run it, and I stopped caring by the time I got the new one. So thanks!

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:27 AM)

There are crossover characters, but the amount and distribution... Marvel Vs Capcom this ain't.  If @wonko the sane? my bad!

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:21 AM)

I've been playing for *checks account* 1002 days, 23 hours.  So, by 2021, it will have been three years.  I think it takes place in its own continuity, largely inspired by G1 but borrowing from other places.

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:19 AM)

@wonko the sane? Can only speak for Earth Wars, but so few they're easy to forget.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 September 2020 - 07:39 AM)

Didn't they already do the across universes thing in that tablet game?

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:30 AM)

Also, make the setting an amalgamation of different Transformers series, rather than based on a specific one. Bring in things like 'Sentinel Major' as the primo Autobot jerk, and sleek car mode Vehicons as the Decepticons' basic grunt.

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:27 AM)

KT just needs to incorporate the vehicle modes into the combat system, like Platinum did for Devastation, so they're for more than just wheeling it across the battlefield. =P

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:25 AM)

Transformers: Warriors of Cybertron! =D

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (28 September 2020 - 05:15 AM)

I want a Power Rangers Mosu. I would also take a Transformers Mosu. :D

@  TheMightyMol... : (28 September 2020 - 04:50 AM)

It even ended on a sequel hook.

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 04:40 AM)

Man, I just want another Devastation game... =(

@  NotVeryKnightly : (28 September 2020 - 01:53 AM)

Aren't TFs way more varied than Joes, as far as they'd work in gameplay? Like, Omega Supreme is vastly different from Bumblebee.

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 10:16 PM)

Hell, ripoff Super Robot Wars withTFs

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 10:16 PM)

IDK they could make something like FF tactics or Fire Emblem ripoff with Robots and i'd buy it

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 September 2020 - 09:43 PM)

See, I feel GI Joe (with it's varied cast) is a better fit for a strategy game, where as Transformers feels more suited for a shooter.

@  Maruten : (27 September 2020 - 08:28 PM)

I might give them points for making a strategy game if it's actually a good strategy game.

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 07:48 PM)

I mean, points for making a strategy game instead of third person shooter, but: urrrrgggg. Cyberverse.

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 07:47 PM)

A transformers game for the switch? *checks* Urrrggg... cyberverse...

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 September 2020 - 06:28 PM)

October will be a big month for Hasbro fans: Zoids, GI Joe AND Transformers all have brand new console games. All on the Switch at that!

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 09:04 AM)

At least in animated he was more driven than just "loyal bootlick".

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 08:29 AM)

@  Maximus Ambus : (27 September 2020 - 02:35 AM)

On an unrelated note: I just got the BBTS email about kingdom pre-orders... and even the stuff I don't want I'm perfectly willing to get if it means I can have the rest of it.

@  wonko the sane? : (26 September 2020 - 04:08 PM)

It's digimon. So first one, then the other.

@  TheMightyMol... : (26 September 2020 - 12:53 PM)

I read that as "Helicoptermon" and wondered what kind of Digimon that was.

@  Bass X0 : (26 September 2020 - 12:35 PM)

As to resources, the FOC game did try to lean into the idea that those left on Cybertron would have to go into either voluntary or forced stasis, since, in that, the planet was that low on Energon that Primus had literally shut his core down to purge himself of the Dark Energon infection Megs tried in the WFC game. So they at least trued to fudge an answer.

This is the worst possibility, because it's the point at which you admit that the time skip is serving no narrative purpose but you have to do it anyway, so you make everyone skip the time equally.

The actual purpose of a time skip is to have the world change around your characters so that it's unfamiliar to them and they have to adjust. Of course, Transformers has literally never done this and has almost always had a fish-out-of-water element that comes from the Transformers' being on Earth, while (rightly) ignoring the redundant and abstract disconnect with their own timeline. For that reason it's banned, sorry. Unless you're going to have some kind of evil empire or perfect and powerful utopia like the G2 Decepticons take over the galaxy while the heroes are stuck in a mountain, it's not the Ark crew's time that's being wasted, it's mine. = P

Animated repurposed the time skip as a short nap long enough to get Transformer technology in circulation on Earth, get Sari created, and have Megatron get really tired of being stuck in a wall, and deliberately made it short enough not to do anything else. Because, you know, the Animated team was competent, and actually capable of recognizing a dumb idea, choosing to keep it, and finding a way to make it a good idea instead. I'm not holding the average Transformers writer up to that expectation or inviting the disasters that would result from their attempt.

There's also another cause everyone forgets, though it's just as old as the energy shortage - Asteroid Blasting!  Why not have Cybertron go careening through the asteroids again? (Other than screwing up the orbital mechanics of everything.)

Sometimes when we forget things it's on purpose for a reason Dekafox

It's kind of hard for 3Ps to mess-up Predaking since the original doesn't have a scramble city gimmick to exclude, so the modern toys don't feel like they're missing something.

Meanwhile, Hasbro messed it up because they stubbornly insisted on making him as big as the new Devastator despite the G1 toys having completely different designs.

I mean, Hasbro also messed up Predaking by doing everything they did with that torso, and the giant thigh boxes just kinda stuck on the leg guys. He really looks like an unpolished prototype all around.

A lot of Predaking's problems are due to Hasbro trying to make him as big as Devastator despite the team being only 5 guys.

There's no rule that each of the five guys couldn't be slightly bigger. Where things went wrong on that front was designing according to Predaking's original look with different proportions from Devastator, and then stretching him out to Devastator height. That whole yellow cube in his torso that screws up Divebomb so bad is just inserted to meet the height requirement, among other things.

Hasbro should have done this because a guy who turns into a gorilla would be easy to get a pair of tighes out of, but then it wouldn't be G1.

An elephant would be harder to work with because of the big head, it would probably end up on the butt.

I'll have to draw it up sometime. The idea was more like a standard five-man-band combination where the elephant was the torso guy and Divebomb the chest ornament.

Edit: Don't forget that the real combination uses and has always used partsforming.

POTP Predaking could have been adorable if it were Legends scale. As is, it is way too big to get away with the flaws it has.

I like the idea of a gorilla better than an elephant because it at least has big Sharp canine teeth. Also, headcanoning its name as Apeshit

Meanwhile, Hasbro messed it up because they stubbornly insisted on making him as big as the new Devastator despite the G1 toys having completely different designs.

Three of them hugged it up before though. Unique Toys had godawful beasts and robots with a partsforming super mode. TFC had okay-ish beasts and robots but a severely clunky aesthetic and major stability issues. MMCs has decent combiner and robot modes but beast modes worse than POTP.

Yeah, but I already think of the team theme as "savanna big game" rather than "predators", and I kinda like the ironic "hunter" aspect. Divebomb is the odd one out, but.

An elephant would be more useful for torso bulk admittedly. This would leave Razorclaw to form the chest mostly and depending on how the elephant transforms, the ears could act as mane extensions so the lion chest mane isn't dinky in Predaking mode. Trunk kibble would be a bit tricky to deal with but I guess it could fold up and form abs of some kind ala Dancouga.

A gorilla would probably flip upside down and use the bulky forearms as the thighs. This would mean Razorclaw would need to form more of the torso.

Man, six member combiners should really be the norm.
