This was supposedly the "season finale"... something huge. Game changing. And... pretty much everyone who was in danger makes it out okay. The only two characters that die are bad guys, and one of them has a plot hook in place to return. The only character who leaves the Lost Light is someone who was in the background for most of the story, save for the hostage arc and the end of the Overload one. The fact that NOBODY on the Lost Light died is frustrating, especially since Roberts played up what a huge tear-jerker this would be.
And... yeah, it bothers me that both active Japanese original characters are now dead. I know I derailed the topic last time, so I won't dwell on this beyond what I write here, but... Dai Atlas being killed off, and Star Saber beginning and ending as a zealous freak who doesn't resemble his original characterization at all who ends up offed by a popular US G1 character? It is every single issue I have with JTF characters being used in western TF stories encapsulated into one great big ball of do not want.
The only way I can see Roberts saving face on this is if Star Saber's armor ends up being like Magnus's and repurposed for a Circle of Light member... but considering the fact that they essentially have a new leader in Ultra Magnus, I doubt that'll happen.
Smaller things that bothered me... Lockdown's presence in the arc not amounting to much, and First Aid taking over from Ratchet seemed to be forgotten. But that could be changed in the future. Also, the deal with Whirl seemed really insignificant for something to be featured on a cover.
That said, there are some great moments in the issue. First Aid defeating Pharma. The revelation about Rodimus. What Skids encountered through the portal. First Aid defeating Pharma. But those moments are just that - moments. They're great on their own, but they don't make up for how... anti-climactic the whole feels.
I'm disappointed. And I'll leave it at that, because I'm sure debating it will cause a big bruhaha again, and no one wants that.

"Disabled people don’t have special needs. We have very reasonable human needs. Our needs include freedom from abuse, violence, and mistreatment, the right to autonomy and self-direction, the right to represent ourselves, equal opportunity for education and employment, the right to accommodation, and societal inclusion and acceptance.
The need for accommodation isn’t a “special need”. It’s a basic human right. It’s a leveling of the playing field that allows us the same opportunities and chances as non-disabled people."

I think that was WONDERFULLY and appropriately epic.
A ton of surprises and revelations that were just great and truly surprises. The Villians defeated. New mysteries opened up. A bunch of relationships resolved and brought forward and changed.
Honestly that was everything I think the conclusion of the a first season should have been. Ok, it would have been even better if it was double sized, but I'd say that about any issue of MTMTE.
-ZacWilliam, I'm sure Dark Cybertron will be great and all but I really kinda wish we could skip it and get right to "Season 2"

I don't think Star Saber's dead.
He Fzzzts out of existance as Cyclonus screams "NO!", and everyone just assumes he kills him. Looks more like Saber will be back for another go later on or something.

EDIT - there's ambiguity there, but I think it's more due to Roberts' and Milne's collective inability to stage effective action sequences.
EDIT 2 - wait. I see what you're saying now. It looks like he teleports. Nevermind.

He didn't have a choice. Star Saber used the same teleport that he used to get in there. Saber's still alive somewhere out there. Probably gonna be a recurring bad guy

Star Saber clearly teleported away is how I read it. Thats Why Cyclonus yelled "NO!" because he was deniged his kill.
-ZacWilliam, also the eye removing facial wound is the kinda thing Villians get when they're gonna come back later for revenge.

*sighs* The ride goes on, I guess. On one hand, the second JTF character isn't dead. On the other, he's still written in a way that I patently hate.
But yeah, moving on.

Yes, that's likely it. I had dismissed the horn as a "rejuvenating" effect of the spark transfer. But once it was pointed out yeah that does make decent sense.
-ZacWilliam, I think it might have been all the other damage to Cyc being fixed too that threw me off, but maybe in light of the great news he had gotten he just finally felt positive enough to get a fix up.

Loved it. The usual great thrill ride of shocks, revelations and character moments. I'm enjoying Cyclonus's storyline in particular.
Robert is made to withstand plenty of play, and transforms from car to robot! Go, Robert, go!
Why will we solve after Robert grasps the abysmal winter's ulcer? He may change rural tailors, do you join them? The films, tapes, and spoons are all good and fresh.

Cyclonus feels like he's gotten closure especially as a character.
