@  unluckiness : (26 March 2019 - 12:29 AM)

ALso him messing around with the wait staff is adorable.

@  unluckiness : (26 March 2019 - 12:29 AM)

That's why I prefer wasting my time on the Kitchen Nightmares channel to the Hell's Kitchen one. He actually talks about the food there rather than increasingly colorful insults.

@  fourteenwings : (26 March 2019 - 12:17 AM)

They know their audience; people looking for videos of Gordon Ramsay being censor-bleeped every five seconds.

@  unluckiness : (26 March 2019 - 12:13 AM)

Gordon Ramsay likes the food compilation - 6 minutes. Gordon Ramsay hates on the food video - 1 hour. I love whoever manages his Youtube channel.

@  Ashley : (25 March 2019 - 06:35 PM)

Yeah, motorized flywheels have changed things a lot

@  Benbot : (25 March 2019 - 06:31 PM)

I'm big into Nerf. The blasters they make today are 1000 times more advanced than anything we had when growing up. There's a thriving modding community too.

@  wonko the sane? : (25 March 2019 - 01:29 PM)

Eh... they're okay. But unless you routinely end up with people who also own/use them (like in college, or an office where the boss buggers off for hours at a time.) they usually just end up sitting around gathering dust because without someone to shoot and shoot back: they quickly get old.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (25 March 2019 - 01:27 PM)

Hmm. I don't think I have ever owned a Nerf gun in my life despite knowing of them for my entire life and liking the TV adverts.

@  Ashley : (24 March 2019 - 11:08 PM)

a stupid discovery while looking at some nerf guns: they make toilet paper blasters. it's basically an automatic spitball launcher, with a little water tank and a reel for you to put the toilet paper on.

@  MEDdMI : (24 March 2019 - 09:10 PM)

Everyone is a little stupid in their own snowflake way

@  ▲ndrusi : (24 March 2019 - 07:57 PM)

Personally I have a much higher tolerance for anecdotes about Stupid Americans when they come from other Americans.

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 March 2019 - 06:46 PM)

Australia is British Florida.

@  Patch : (24 March 2019 - 06:11 PM)

What other country has its own Florida?

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 March 2019 - 12:23 PM)

Many of us are in fact aware that our country is ridiculous.

@  Arazyr : (24 March 2019 - 08:25 AM)

As an American, I have no problem with the amusing anecdotes he's been sharing. In fact, I've been enjoying them, and got no indication of smugness from any of them. Please continue. 8^)

@  The Doctor Who : (24 March 2019 - 06:00 AM)

Minnesota, but I think it's only mentioned in, like, a side comic or something.

@  Maximus Ambus : (24 March 2019 - 05:57 AM)

Ever wonder what state Carly was in after 'The Rebirth'.

@  fourteenwings : (24 March 2019 - 02:15 AM)

I don't think it's right to feel indignation at people telling you that Americans might also have feelings and you should consider them before squawking yet more things in the same vein.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (24 March 2019 - 01:28 AM)

Intervening? It's not like much of anything that happens in this box is prompted.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (24 March 2019 - 01:13 AM)

I suppose I would normally feel indignation right about now, but with you I am merely unsurprised that you are intervening in a conversation to express your typical brand of disapproval.

@  Cabooceratops : (24 March 2019 - 01:06 AM)

Nitefort x ]

@  NotVeryKnightly : (24 March 2019 - 12:50 AM)

I'm not super fond of Nevermore's habit of using the Shoutbox to complain about TFW users, but those usually seem to be things he's personally witnessed and not anecdotes that he only has confirmation bias to backup, so I can believe he isn't just being smug.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (24 March 2019 - 12:47 AM)

Amusing? Don't try to pretend you aren't being selective by picking things that support a narrative you're building.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (24 March 2019 - 12:46 AM)

Shield Agent: this and the previous anecdote didn't sound like you have any reason to believe them beyond confirmation bias, so bringing up these things compulsively achieves nothing beyond making you look smug.

@  fourteenwings : (24 March 2019 - 12:23 AM)

Well I guess Fortnite sounds cool? Maybe it made more sense before the gameplay started to focus on the Battle Royale bit?

@  fourteenwings : (24 March 2019 - 12:22 AM)

To be fair this is only a few days after your very comprehensive thing about St. Patrick's Day. Oh also I guess that thing about the Estonian currency exchange so that's like three entire "Americans!" squawks this week.

@  Maruten : (24 March 2019 - 12:22 AM)

Not that Nitefort is any more sensible obviously.

@  Maruten : (24 March 2019 - 12:21 AM)

I tend to forget that it's called Fortnite because my 3yo calls it "Nitefort" so that's how my whole family refers to it.

@  Maruten : (24 March 2019 - 12:21 AM)

I assume the name is derived from the fact that one can build forts? But the nite part is a stretch.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (24 March 2019 - 12:17 AM)

Hence I thought it would be an amusing anecdote to share as I am not a gamer, but other pop culture-invested people here probably would be, and thus perhaps they would have different relevant experience to share.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (24 March 2019 - 12:16 AM)

In fact before now I did not feel "superior" for knowing the word "fortnight" because I was raised to believe it was a rare but standard term.

@  Copper Bezel : (23 March 2019 - 10:33 PM)

Eh, it's not a common word in the US, so ... like I sincerely hope no one's feeling superior about it but I wouldn't assume.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (23 March 2019 - 09:59 PM)

Shield Agent: What is up with your compulsion to bring up every anecdote that supports your superiority complex towards Americans?

@  wonko the sane? : (23 March 2019 - 09:22 PM)

What I don't get is: what is a game titled "two weeks" even about?

@  Trpodeca : (23 March 2019 - 09:16 PM)

What strange people

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (23 March 2019 - 09:11 PM)

Interesting. I have just been informed by several Britons and Australians that since the debut of Fortnite, they have encountered Yanks who do not believe that "fortnight" is a real word.

@  Kayla Kaon : (22 March 2019 - 09:22 PM)

https://discord.gg/jMPfJWk

@  Kayla Kaon : (22 March 2019 - 08:05 PM)

What is up sexy people! Everyone having fun tonight?

@  Rycochet : (22 March 2019 - 01:01 PM)

If they don't take it down or back off, then unfollow. At least then they'll know why people are distancing themselves.

@  Rycochet : (22 March 2019 - 12:54 PM)

Call them out because if nobody challenges them on nonsense, they'll only sink deeper into their rabbithole of stupidity.

@  Benbot : (22 March 2019 - 11:26 AM)

When someone makes a deliberately hateful and dishonest post on Facebook, do you angrily call them out on it, or just ignore or defriend them?

@  Xellos : (22 March 2019 - 11:11 AM)

Dunno, I did watch Combiner Wars...

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 March 2019 - 04:37 AM)

Also, nobody try watching last year's Stargate Origins: Catherine "webisode". My god, I've never seen anything so atrocious

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 March 2019 - 04:36 AM)

Having watched the full decade's' worth of episodes during the last 4 or so weeks, the cult leader Goa'uld was Setesh/"Seth"

@  Pennpenn : (22 March 2019 - 04:00 AM)

I missed a whole bunch of stuff in the Squawkbox. Huh. It's been a long week.

@  Pennpenn : (22 March 2019 - 03:52 AM)

That or Old Testament God with his whole nuking cities, random plagues, brutal pogroms, absurd set ups to test followers faiths, etc etc as a very not rogue Goa'uld.

@  Pennpenn : (22 March 2019 - 03:48 AM)

1) Spite. 2) I'm fairly sure at least one episode did actually have a Goa'uld who'd be hiding out on Earth since the rebellion and had been host swapping and running cults, 3) mostly yeah spiteful contrivance to see Christain groups lose their collective shit.

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 March 2019 - 02:49 AM)

If you don't take paypal, and the item isn't a local pickup (in which case Cash is acceptable), I'm pretty sure you need to have some alternative credit card processor you're able to take payment through

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 March 2019 - 02:48 AM)

Technically eBay doesn't own Paypal anymore, but even so I haven't seen an auction in years that didn't take Paypal as a form of payment.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 March 2019 - 11:01 PM)

I was gonna ask "aren't eBay and Paypal basically the same people" but turns out that hasn't been true for a while.

Latest additions to the collection mainly completing a few sets

First up the oldest G1 release in the UK:

Transformers The Original Series Vol 1-3 Sony Wonder UK

P3170415_zpsd8d02246.jpg

The first release of Transformers Season one on DVD in the UK. I picked up volume 2 and 3 to complete my set for virtually nothing on ebay. The 3 volumes are taken from broadcast masters and unlike most releases has the audio has not been remixed. The odd thing about these releases is the episodes are out of order.

Volume One

Fire on the Mountain

War of the Dinobots

The Ultimate Doom 1-3

Volume Two

More than Meets the Eye 1-3

Transport to Oblivion

Roll for it

Divide and Conquer

Volume Three

Fire in the Sky

SOS Dinobots

Countdown to Extinction

Plague of the Insecticons

Heavy Metal War

Next up is another copy of the movie:

Transformers The Movie PSP Metrodome UK

P3170421_zps85419eca.jpg

The first release of the movie on the PSP UMD format which is identical to the later release with just the movie and no special features. The funny thing is unlike alot of releases the UMD has the correct audio for Primes Gun.

Moving on to something a bit more recent:

Transformers Animated Vol 5, 8-10 Paramount Japanese

P3170409_zps30b07a44.jpg

After getting all the other volumes just to have the 3 episodes i was missing i decided to just finnish the set by getting the last 4 i needed. One thing to note about all the DVD's is that all the Autobotto family segments are not included.

We now move on to the last Prime disk i needed:

Transformers Prime Dawn of the Beast Shout Factory USA

P3170398_zps924c7d91.jpg

The final compilation movie for Season 3 of Transformers Prime compiling the first 4 episodes into one 88 minute movie. Unlike all the previous movie releases this one was exclusive to Target in the USA.

Next up is the the last GO! Disks:

Transformers GO! Samurai Vol 5, Shinobi Vol 4 Takara Japanese

P3170402_zpsd01e4d56.jpg

The Samurai volume has pretty much just the episode on the disk and videos for other japanese brands. The shinobi volume however has several small promo videos and diorama footage for Transformers along with the episode.

Transformers GO! Samurai Vol 6, Encyclopedia Takara Japanese

IMAG0885_zps82e0c3ee.jpg

The Final Go! Episode Disk has a couple of transformers related videos along with the episode itself. These include a Japanese trailer for Age of Extinction and a diorama story. The gold disk was sold at hobby stores in japan as a promo for the series and contains a encyclopedia rundown of the Go! characters and attacks.

Continuing with more recent releases:

Transformers Rescue Bots: Heros on the Scene Shout Factory USA

IMAG0887_zpsaf301b24.jpg

Another collection of episodes of Rescue Bots, I really wish that shout would do a whole set rather than a tiny bit at a time. Nothing special on the disks just a few more episodes of season 1.

Next up is something you dont usually see on the open market.

Transformers Takara Headmasters "Check Disk" Metrodome UK

IMAG0891_zps66d31abb.jpg

Found this strange item on ebay a month or 2 back, a set of check disks for Metrodomes release of Headmasters in the UK. From my research into disks like this, I think these may be production samples provided by the mastering house Technicolor for approval and testing by Metrodome. I havent checked all episodes but from the first few i have seen no difference between the released version and the check disks.

Transformers The Movie (Reconstructed) "Check Disk" Metrodome UK

IMAG0892_zps8971433f.jpg

Got this disk from the same auction as above. The disk contains the Uk Reconstructed version of the movie with the strange open matting. Not had time to look closer to see if there's any differences to what was released at retail.

The final addition is one i've been after for a while:

Trasformers 2010 Genon Japanese (reissue)

P3170418_zpsaeaa3cd0.jpg

Transformers 2010 is the Japanese release of Transformers G1 season 3 containing 30 episodes over 5 DVD's. This set is a reissue of the disks released in the early 2000's unfortunately the final disk of the older set has been removed so there are no bonuses. The missing disk contained the Japanese Dub of the Rebirth along with the Transformers the Movie Trade Trailer and some commercials. I'd love to get this disk at some point but at the prices the original sets go for i think i'll pass for the moment.

Thats all i have for just now if you have any questions about any of these releases leave a comment and i'll get back to you.

Got a couple of strange items this time which you dont come across alot plus the most recent disks in the Go! and rescue bots series. Also if you haven't checked it out yet Karyuudo Fansubs has released all 39 episodes of Transformers Car Robots subbed in English, you can find a torrent link on his site plus an extra torrent of bonus files from my collection including the Kiss players 15 Go, Go Manga collection and model sheets.

First up today the real final disk of GO!

Thats all i have this time as always if you you want any more info on any of these additions leave a comment also if you want to see the Transformers GO! Encyclopedia is now availible on my youtube channel

Say, could some of those cards depict animation cels from deleted scenes?

Just can't recall that close up of Megatron with black barrel on the back (much like in Akom episodes, 'cept it doesn't look like their work).

The one with Soundwave and Ravage looks very weird.

Spike with light brown hair, Soundwave with gray "horns"/"ears", Optimus with blue backpack... all look very unfamiliar.

It's certainly possible but i'm not sure. The quality of the printing makes me think they may have been taken directly from the cels but may have had work done to them as some of the backgrounds look off in some way.

Nice, I thought I had a lot of copies of TFTM but you've got a lot of stuff I don't have.  Didn't even know about TFTM on UMD (or maybe I did and forgot), would kind of like it for my collection but I wouldn't want to pay much for it at this point.

You have any Laserdiscs?  The G1 sets can often be found for pretty cheap in Japan, so they might be an alternative to getting the extras (I actually have a Pioneer 2010 set with a missing booklet that I need to get rid of).  Some are really hard to find though, like the BW Special LD.  Already had the DVD but I wanted the LD as well, and it took me a long time to track it down.  There's also the Five Faces of Darkness LD from FHE, with PM Optimus Prime and Action Masters on the cover.  I don't have that one but it would be cool to have considering it's the only TF Laserdisc released in the US (even if I'd like to slap the person who decided to release it instead of TFTM).

If i remember correctly the UMD copy of the Movie is exclusive to the UK and i think that it may be region locked to UK PSP systems. Both of the versions on the market cost virtually nothing on ebay as the UMD format bombed big time.

I only recently started using the buyee 3rd party system on yahoo japan auctions which has opened up the possibility of getting the Laserdiscs for a decent price but at the moment i haven't picked up any yet. Although i haven't put pictures of the sets i also have Fight super robot life box 1 and 2, victory box 1 and 2 and Beast wars returns but they are DVD-R copies of the retail disks.

I remember seeing that five faces laserdisc, always thought that was a Japanese Disk. They could have at least put the movie out that would have at least sold a few copies. The one laserdisc i've always wondered about was Transformers Hero which i'm having a hard time believing exists
