I'll try. She's not the most obedient bird, so it's going to take some work to get her to do it on demand.

Yeah, I think both are too old and too expensive at this stage. Hasbro/Paramount are going to try for younger actors that can do multiple films AND can be locked into a multifilm contract cheaply

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:59 PM)

I've barely used them over the years, so I'm sure they won't miss me, but I'm done too. Thankfully Pulse put up the Seacons today.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:58 PM)

i didnt complete it, which is why this is confusing and pi$$ing me off. theres no record of it in my order history. i emailed them about it, so we will see what happens. either way, i think im done using them after this

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

Either we're both unlucky or they're trying to force payment now for these takaratomy mall exclusives.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

I asked them to kindly undo that and I got a sternly worded email about how I should use their website right.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

Yeah, if you completed the order, they charged you the money now. Mine said stack before I finished checking out. I only noticed I was charged because of Paypal.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:53 PM)

i wasnt even wanting to pay now. i was going to add them to my stack but i didnt get the chance after i was done setting up paypal

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:53 PM)

If you haven't officially placed the order, I don't think so? Although, I had to request a cancellation with them last week because their system changed details about my order after I placed it, so I don't exactly trust them.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:51 PM)

so im not actually being charged then?

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:48 PM)

So, if you were one click away from purchasing, then they probably did the pre-authorization already. The next click will charge you the money now.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:47 PM)

TFsource charges upfront for regular pre-orders.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:45 PM)

i was considering buying the upcoming seacons from tfsource. i had them in my cart and was on the checkout page. i set up a credit card through paypal, and before i even hit the "place order" button, i got a text saying that a charge or hold was placed on my card! is this normal? is it just checking to see if i have the money? why did it do it before i even placed the order??

@  Nevermore : (19 October 2019 - 12:54 PM)

Another type of everyday absurdity: Imagine you're leaving your workplace for your lunchbreak. Upon your return, you discover that your workplace has been cordened and/or gated off during your break, with "construction site" warning signs everywhere. You go to your superior and tell him: "I can no longer access my workplace! Why is there suddenly a construction site?" Your superior takes a surpised look and says: "I don't know, first time I see this." You figure: "Must be a Tuesday, then."

Neat, thank you. I did like the trailer Arena had for Guilds of Ravncia...which basically was the official trailer for the set put out by WotC. How long have they been doing official cinematics?

EDIT: Oh I like this. Arena has things called "Wildcards" of various rarities - I got a handful of them when I created an account. They basically let you trade them off for whatever card you want. But opening the Ravnica packs it turns out that every so often you'll get a Wildcard that way, plus additional ones depending on the number of overall packs you've opened.

thats available with all the packs on the store.  its a really nice feature compared to the dust thing hearthstone has going on.

Maybe it's because I'm burned out on Duel Links (Hearthstone I left behind long ago), but I'm really digging Arena. The games tend to be a lot more strategic (What to attack, what to defend, how much mana to leave "hanging", etc), I like Sagas - don't get Planeswalkers yet but I don't have any Planeswalkers to tinker with myself.

Got gifted a White/Black Vampire deck yesterday that's been a lot of fun to putter around with. Got a Blue/Green Merfolk deck this morning with a stupid broken unblockable Mer that gets +1/+1 counters when you play another Merfolk.

I really want to build my Undergrowth deck but the wildcard rewards are few and far between and a pack or two a day that gives me nothing useful is maddening.

But in the current, digitized world, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible. Rumors about petty issues, misinterpretations, slander... All this junk data preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate. It will only slow down social progress, reduce the rate of evolution. You seem to think that our plan is one of censorship. What we propose to do is not to control content, but to create context.

All I know is Blue/Red is not my color combination. That was my daily deck reward and I'm decidedly NOT having fun playing it, but play it I shall since I want the pack rewards.

Also saved up enough gold so tonight after work I get to partake in my first Ravncia Sealed Draft. Who cares if I don't win a game? Free cards is free cards.

So is this your first M:tG experience then?

Yeah, it's very nuanced, but very rewarding once you start digging into it.  As pretty much the grand-daddy of CCGs, M:tG has had a lot of time build and polish its core gameplay, and it shows when comparing it to pretty much everything that comes after.  Most of the others came about because they wanted a more streamlined experience than what Magic offers (or as a licensing tie-in), but all that means is that each iteration loses a certain depth of strategy as a whole.

I gave up entirely on Hearthstone after only a handful of vs. AI games because I knew instinctively that it wouldn't capture any of the strategic depth offered by Magic.  Its complete non-interactiveness put me off completely.  No effects or cards to play on your opponent's turn as trump cards removes a lot of the psychological play.  Limiting cards to only two-of per deck removes the rest of the urgency.  Once you've spotted a threat and have dealt with it accordingly, then you know you only have to plan for the possibility of one more and you're reasonably safe.  In Magic, you have no clue if you're dealing with 1, 2, 3, or 4 copies, and that guessing game keeps you on your toes, as you gauge whether to hold your answers for that one threat, or if you need to use them to deal with a different one.

So WotC really is trying to pull a cash grab this Christmas. They just announced Ultimate Masters. Yet another overpriced reprint set. And I do mean over priced. MSRP is 335.79 US for a box and 34.99 for a 3 pack blister.

So besides the nice reprints of some sought after cards what makes the boxes so special. Each box comes with one sealed promo pack with a Mythic in the set done up similar to the GoR Mythic Edition planeswalkers. Yes just One. In just a booster box. That is 335.79.

This was a beyond stupid move, especially after the Mythic Edition fiasco.

On the other hand the GoR Guild packs are out and do seem to be well worth their 19.99 MSRP with reprints from all Ravnica sets involved, fancy guild print basic lands, and Guild based extras like a large Sticker, pin, deck box and Spindown counter.

I really dont know why WotC has ever saw the Masters sets as a good idea. All I know is the majority of social media is tearing them down for This Masters set. Hell it hasnt even been a year since Masters 25 has it?! I just dont know what their mindset is besides making a cash grab anymore.

Got the first issue of the Chandra comic tonight. I'm pretty sure this is post the current Ravnica block so at least we know She survives the chaos to come. It doesn't show anything specific but a few flashes of Memory do show Ravnica in a pretty sorry state.

Spoiler

Not a great book so far but I do like to see looks at the worlds of M:TG beyond the cards and while it doesn't do a lot on one world it's cool to see Chandra flitting between a few we don't see often.

Just got done playing on Arena. I had put together a simple white life gain deck this afternoon after seeing a few similar ones on the other side of the board. Ajanis Welcome, Ajanis Pridemate, Ajani Wise Councilor and various white lifelink or life gaining triggers.

My last match I put down Welcome on turn one and my opponent immediately forfeited. Kinda pathetic not to even try to see where the match goes for a few turns at least.

My problem is I always want to try to play a lore/themed deck. So the majority of my mono white deck was obviously Ajani themed. I kinda like how it plays and I could build a paper version if I wanted with some tweaks.

Im usually playing general play. Tend to get more deck variation there than ranked.

Truthfully the decks I absolutely hate are Blue Im not going to let you do anything decks. I know its a viable format to play, and I know its a good way to win, but its so unfun for the opponent.

I rarely play blue other than a recent standard Merfolk build, just because I really hate the whole reliance on counterspells, bounces, and mindmill. I do like evasive creatures and the water based themes of blue often are pretty cool to me, blue is even my favorite color, but I absolutely hate the game it plays.

I never quit turn one on a game, but the only decks I do tend to forfeit is ones where the opponent just wont let me play anything. After 5 or 6 turns of only being able to lay down a land and being unable to put anything else on the field I wanna just stop playing.

Did my war of the spark pre-release tournament today. Pulls werent very good but I ended up doing better then I usually do. I actually won a round :D

Using the Raze Boar god to flash Massacre Girl out and into my hand over and over is a bit mean but effective. Very good if your opponent has lots of small creatures out.

Also read Greg Weismans novel for the set. And I gotta admit hes better telling a story with visuals. If you have no idea of who the characters or their backstories are your going to be a tad clueless in this book as he spends next to nothing describing them. Other than our point of entry Planeswalker Teyo, we get little idea of the longer term characters.

That and for the big war of Planeswalkers a grand total of 3 named ones die that I can remember
Spoiler

A few other known Walkers get maimed and get away but the biggest casualty seems to be Ravnicas Guildhall when Bolas set the Planar Bridge up in the middle of it to sever the Guildpacts power from Jace.

I kind of enjoyed the book well enough but thats with me keeping up on the lore and having an idea of who everyone is with the cards artwork in my mind. Its hard to recommend to a non Magic fan who isnt invested into the story.

So spoilers for Modern Horizons has started. Considering none of this is headed to standard it's interesting to see what they are pushing to Modern. Lost of Shapeshifter cards. But with my focus on Lore more the two cards that tickle my fancy are Serra's Planeswalker card that was spoiled at the sets original announcement and a Pre Planeswalker Urza creature card. It's not quite what I wanted with Urza but it's cool to see them deep diving into the games history.

Today's big reveals were new Slivers!

A new five color legendary

"The First Sliver"  WUBRG

Legendary Creature- Sliver

7/7

Cascade

Sliver spells you cast have Cascade

So um if you build a deck with just Slivers and no other spells, there is your whole army on the board! And with a Sliver deck that is highly possible.

I guess I missed the whole next card has to cost less part of Cascade.

Also

"Dregscape Sliver" 1B

Creature -Sliver

2/2

Each sliver card in your grave yard has Unearth 2

Unearth 2 (pay 2: this creature returns from the graveyard to the battlefield with haste. Exile it at the next end step or if it leaves the battlefield. Use only as a sorcery

"Lavabelly Sliver" 1RW

Creature -Sliver

2/2

Slivers you control have "When this creature enters the battlefield it deals 1 damage to target player or planeswalker. You Gain 1 life"

and finally

"Tempered Sliver" 2G

Creature- Sliver

2/2

"Slivers you controls have "whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player, put a +1/+1 counter on it."

I think it's time to refresh the Sliver commander deck :D
