@  unluckiness : (23 May 2017 - 05:08 AM)

I'll wait for the sequel series Dragon Whole.

@  Maruten : (23 May 2017 - 04:26 AM)

Can't believe the Dragon Half manga is finally being translated this year.

@  Bass X0 : (23 May 2017 - 03:22 AM)

DRAGON HALF!

@  MEDdMI : (22 May 2017 - 09:00 PM)

Xellos...? *looks at avatar pic* speaking of old anime... DRAGON SLAVE!!!

@  Xellos : (22 May 2017 - 08:56 PM)

Yeah, Tylor is awesome. One of the few series (Tylor and Escaflowne) I watched multiple times subtitled. On VHS even. Own two sets of each on DVD (or BD in 2nd Escaflowne's case). Original Tylor DVD and the remastered DVD, and both sets of dubs for Escaflowne (not counting the aborted Saturday morning edit, though I did tape that as it aired).

@  Steevy Maximus : (22 May 2017 - 08:28 PM)

Man, I'm so sad I missed so much of the mid-90s anime. The Irresponsible Captain Tylor is SO MUCH FUN!

@  Paladin : (22 May 2017 - 11:43 AM)

where's GALVATRON in MP form dammit?! he didn't even get in for the anniversary year...

@  TheMightyMol... : (22 May 2017 - 11:35 AM)

I'm still waiting on the rest of the Dinobots.

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 11:24 AM)

The Decepticon MP cassettes are probably my favorite MP figures so far. Fantastic little dudes.

@  Bass X0 : (22 May 2017 - 11:23 AM)

I want a Masterpiece Blaster if only because I'm fond of the Masterpiece cassettes and want Takara to make more. They should also do Slugfest and Overkill since they were in the cartoon too, even if it was only very briefly.

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 11:21 AM)

I just want the Chip figure. The only Autobot cars I have or want are G2 Sideswipe and Hot Rod.

@  Paladin : (22 May 2017 - 11:14 AM)

another Autobot car. "yaaaaaay."

@  Benbot : (22 May 2017 - 11:02 AM)

I haven't been this excited about a new MP since the Datsuns! He looks amazing

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 11:01 AM)

I love the little human figures with the MP line. Is it just young Spike, Future Spike, and Daniel so far?

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 11:00 AM)

And it comes with Chip Chase! I will order just for that! Holy crap!

@  Bass X0 : (22 May 2017 - 10:55 AM)

Whoo! Masterpiece Sunstreaker!

@  Anonymous X : (22 May 2017 - 10:40 AM)

Less said about the Sinclair Microdrive, the better...

@  Anonymous X : (22 May 2017 - 10:23 AM)

I had two ZX Spectrum games on cartridge. Played 'em loads as it beat having to wait ten minutes for unreliable tape loading...

@  Rycochet : (22 May 2017 - 09:25 AM)

Super Bootspork!

@  Bass X0 : (22 May 2017 - 08:45 AM)

I remember doing the same for my ZX Spectrum.

@  DeltaSeeker : (22 May 2017 - 08:40 AM)

I remember loading games on my Vic20 from an audio tape.

@  Paladin : (22 May 2017 - 08:37 AM)

anyone remember "Chex Quest?"

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 07:13 AM)

I never played those. I had, like, two-color bootleg files of Donkey Kong and stuff like that with 50 games on a disk.

@  MEDdMI : (22 May 2017 - 07:11 AM)

not pure text games, but you still had to use text input to do stuff. "PICK UP flask", etc

@  MEDdMI : (22 May 2017 - 07:05 AM)

I think those were the old King's Quest/Space Quest ones

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 07:02 AM)

I remember floppy disk games! Never gamed enough to own one that was more than a disk, though.

@  MEDdMI : (22 May 2017 - 07:01 AM)

I remember booting things from DOS, and games that were like 10 floppy disks big.

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 06:57 AM)

*dies*

@  Robowang : (22 May 2017 - 06:57 AM)

Oh man, the days of Realplayer and AIM and man, I can't believe how long ago that was.

@  TM2-Megatron : (22 May 2017 - 01:00 AM)

ugh, RealMedia was pretty awful. RealPlayer was so bloated and buggy, I tried to avoid it

@  siccoyote : (22 May 2017 - 12:17 AM)

I remember downloading Realmedia episodes of Beast Wars Season 3, days after they were shown in Americ, but the quality was terrible and the guy who did it wasted half of a stereo audio track because he recorded it in mono. Took many hours to download

@  TM2-Megatron : (21 May 2017 - 09:55 PM)

Yeah, I remember those days. I had a bunch of Quicktime clips from Beasties/Beast Wars and Reboot, most of which I had to leave the computer on overnight to get, lol

@  Steevy Maximus : (21 May 2017 - 09:49 PM)

I remember when it took 3 hours to download a 240p, 2.5 minute movie trailer

@  MEDdMI : (21 May 2017 - 09:02 PM)

and there weren't any rocks yet, they were all space dust

@  MEDdMI : (21 May 2017 - 09:02 PM)

I remember when there was no internet

@  Telly : (21 May 2017 - 08:55 PM)

dont remember what it was called, but i had an internet answering machine software back in the day. turn it on when i was online and i wouldnt miss a call. would leave it off if i didnt want to be bothered though lol

@  Noideaforaname : (21 May 2017 - 08:46 PM)

Remember when it was either the phone OR internet? Remember when photos had to be developed? And if someone decided to take pictures of their eye you couldn't tell until you got the film back?

@  Steevy Maximus : (21 May 2017 - 06:02 PM)

You're making us old farts feel old!

@  Foffy : (21 May 2017 - 05:20 PM)

Not me! I couldn't have known that in 1991! I wasn't even born yet!

@  Bass X0 : (21 May 2017 - 01:03 PM)

You only just realised? Everybody else has known that since 1991.

@  unluckiness : (21 May 2017 - 10:34 AM)

Holy jeez, Guile's theme does go with anything.

@  Nevermore : (20 May 2017 - 04:34 AM)

The "humans as processors" bit was also used in season 2 of Dollhouse.

@  Pennpenn : (20 May 2017 - 04:27 AM)

I just remembered, I wonder if the scene in Thor 2 with the kids showing the abandoned building with glitchy reality was inspired by the Animatrix short that had the same concept (but could handle it more interestingly)

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 May 2017 - 03:59 AM)

That is nonsense. Also, some men in black suits and sunglasses will be arriving at your doorstep shortly. Please cooperate and it will go much easier for you.

@  Whirl Maximus : (20 May 2017 - 03:42 AM)

It's not bull, the elite are using the 90% through wifi for their Androcide agenda. Learn the undisprovable truth.

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 May 2017 - 03:26 AM)

I think there was an early draft where the machines were using humans as processors with the whole "only use 10% of their brains" bull.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (19 May 2017 - 11:35 PM)

Wasn't there an early draft where they weren't using humans for that?

@  Pennpenn : (19 May 2017 - 10:26 PM)

Yeah, makes the Matrix seem more like a nature reserve than a source of power, and I get the feeling the whole "humans as a source of power" was done pretty much to justify the machines keeping humans around at all without making the machines seem sympathetic.

@  TM2-Megatron : (19 May 2017 - 10:23 PM)

But after watching The Second Renaissance, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the machines still felt some lingering moral imperative to allow the human survivors of the war some kind of life rather than committing genocide. They did everything in their power to avoid the war in the first place

@  TM2-Megatron : (19 May 2017 - 10:21 PM)

It seems like reverting to solar power would be infinitely preferable to having to maintain The Matrix and everyone hooked into it, and all the associated hardware

It would seem to makes some sort of sense if the comic book used some sort of body design to toys in stores. Back in the day the whole point of the comic was to promote the toys.

Back in the day people under the age of thirty read comics.

That's something I think I'm probably gonna miss from Regeneration 1.

I mean I know Furman will likely be able to tell a more coherent story without the constant toy introductions, but darn it those were just such a big part of what the classic Marvel Comic was.

I'd love it if there were some TF book that still acted as marketing in that way. It got us spotlight and characterization on a wider swath of characters and made me more excited about upcoming toys. It's like back of package murals and robot points and such, just something old school I miss...

These guys are defintely dead, since they were killed on screen:

Autobots: (all killed by the Junkions)
Broadside
Jackpot
Mainframe
Outback
Rad
Rollout
Sandstorm
Slapdash (What happens to his Nebulan anyways?)

You might want to look again. The last we see him, he's Junkion free.

When do we find out that Jackpot never returned from Axiom Nexus, and was replaced on a Transtech spy impersonating Jackpot?

How does one (who is not Unicron) go about destroying the (an) entire universe?

How does Unicron go about destroying an entire universe?

Unicron eats planets. Slowly. Eating one planet at a time is an incredibly piss-poor way of destroying an entire universe.

This just shows more and more that neither FunPub nor IDW 'get it' with TFs. When more or less random TFs (yeah, yeah, Magnus, still not near the power level required to blow up a world, much less more) just casually destroy universes for laughs, it's a sign that the writers just fail to understand the point.

There's a reason no one liked Sunstorm. Or Drift. And it's pretty basic:

If we wanted to watch Gurren Lagann, Getter Robo, Demonbane, or Ideon (and, by the by, I love the series...except Ideon which is just a 'like'), we'd watch those stories. We don't need TFs to poorly emulate the universe destroying antics of other shows. We need TFs to be TFs.

You mentioned four shows I've not watched or know about but apparently share similar tropes.

Four is okay but five with Transformers is not?

I'm thinking Transformers did the whole 'universe destroying' thing long before any of those shows were created.

Time Wars for example destroyed the post '86 movie universe in the Marvel U.K. comics. It may not have been the most straight-forward and well written of stories but it still exists.

Transformers has done epic and will continue to do epic. Transformers is not all about Megatron's latest evil plot to steal energy of the week.

I'll drop this here (posted it earlier...)

Magnus didn't actually destroy the Classicverse...

WHY the Classicverse was destroyed (when Earth was transported through the event horizon) will be revealed.

In fact, LOTS will be revealed...

And yes. Drift will be busy hunting the abominations. VERY busy...

(p.s. I get it)

"Disabled people donít have special needs. We have very reasonable human needs. Our needs include freedom from abuse, violence, and mistreatment, the right to autonomy and self-direction, the right to represent ourselves, equal opportunity for education and employment, the right to accommodation, and societal inclusion and acceptance.

The need for accommodation isnít a ďspecial needĒ. Itís a basic human right. Itís a leveling of the playing field that allows us the same opportunities and chances as non-disabled people."

This years comic has the worst possible ending for a fan who doesn't really enjoy SG figures/stories and pretty much gaurentees future SG Botcon sets.

Preeeetty much. I'm guessing the kind of G1/SG mix we got this year might be how it goes next year, too, unless they can do something with Prime figures (I expect those Hasbro Asia retools might get a workout).

QUOTE
But then they go and make Circuit, so that's almost all of the European Action Master Elites done as exclusives (Only Missing Omega Spreem and Turbomaster right?) If they do a FoC Bruticus as Turbomaster as SG Bruticus, I will buy it.

Circuit's not an Elite. Only Doublepunch has been done from the Elites, which leaves Omega Spreem, Turbomaster, and Windmill, none of which really have particularly good parallel figures sitting around like Doublepunch did.

Well He was European only, like Slicer, and Thundercracker, so that's close enough to Elite for me. I keep forgetting the Elite gimmick was that they could transform, not that they had they were European.

I've been in and out of town for the past two weeks (not BotCon related, sadly), so I'm coming to this a bit late.

That said, allow me to take a moment to mourn the loss of the following (believed to have remained on Azure until and unless a future story establishes them to have found transport off-world--and specifically back to Earth):

Nightbeat
Slag
Sludge
Siren
(and the Nebulans that were hanging around with them)
