@  Telly : (22 March 2021 - 01:23 AM)

only bike paths around here are called "sidewalks" or "close to the curb"

@  wonko the sane? : (21 March 2021 - 04:30 PM)

Bike paths aren't even open yet here: just packs of dimwits riding in the middle of the road.

@  TM2-Megatron : (21 March 2021 - 03:02 PM)

Toronto's giving them even more space than usual, thanks to COVID. lots of extra bike paths/etc

@  wonko the sane? : (21 March 2021 - 01:49 PM)

Ahhhh, the first true day of spring: where all the douchbag cyclists are out in their spandex suits and 5K bikes, hogging the whole road.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (21 March 2021 - 12:18 PM)

Jokes on you I'm into that.

@  tigerhawk : (21 March 2021 - 07:17 AM)

water? no thank you sir fish make love in it.

@  Hg Dragon : (18 March 2021 - 11:20 PM)

granted, i was pretty much paying cash for a brand new car, but the extra options wasa big benefit.

@  Hg Dragon : (18 March 2021 - 11:18 PM)

i guess i'm spoiled being in a major metro area, because the last new car i bought, i was able to go to multiple dealerships to get the best deal i could.

@  Steevy Maximus : (18 March 2021 - 10:48 PM)

That said, the karmatic balance has been I’ve managed to get some dang good deals on the cars I’ve had.

@  Steevy Maximus : (18 March 2021 - 10:47 PM)

Just ONCE in my life, I wish I could leisurely plan a new car purchase instead of having to buy whatever’s available because I NEED to have the transportation

@  Echowarrior : (18 March 2021 - 09:50 PM)

I'm becoming increasingly unhappy with Lyft. Two nights in a row they've screwed me over this week. Not fun.

@  -LittleAutob... : (18 March 2021 - 09:28 AM)

I never know what to say on here : P

@  Donocropolis : (16 March 2021 - 04:39 PM)

Well, I do now. Thank you, sir.

@  wonko the sane? : (16 March 2021 - 04:32 PM)

You know you can edit your shouts, right?

@  Donocropolis : (16 March 2021 - 12:37 PM)

dammit. Down by the river.

@  Donocropolis : (16 March 2021 - 12:37 PM)

Down by the river

@  electricidad : (16 March 2021 - 12:14 PM)

I would watch a Steven King show about vampires who live in vans.

@  AgentOrange : (15 March 2021 - 10:04 PM)

I mean, there was the tv show Blood Drive too like I said. And it was fantastic Grindhouse trash
https://en.m.wikiped...ive_(TV_series)

@  wonko the sane? : (15 March 2021 - 08:46 PM)

Welp, I was wrong. It wasn't a TV show. It's a movie called "monster truck". Kinda worth it to see a guy get pulled into the engine bay of a chevy and turned into a fine red mist, though.

@  Rycochet : (15 March 2021 - 03:32 PM)

Vanpires seems like something Steven King would scribble on the back of a napkin and would get a 3 part TV miniseries based on it.

@  AgentOrange : (14 March 2021 - 07:30 PM)

Vanpires, not vampires. Damn autocorrect

@  AgentOrange : (14 March 2021 - 07:30 PM)

Vampires drank gasoline. Blood Drive is the grind house blood-fuelled race

@  wonko the sane? : (14 March 2021 - 06:16 PM)

I think space channel did that show already...

@  TheMightyMol... : (14 March 2021 - 01:00 PM)

Of all the dark futures I expected to come to pass, I have to admit I didn't foresee it being Vanpires.

@  tigerhawk : (14 March 2021 - 12:26 PM)

In the future cars will run on blood.

@  Otaku : (14 March 2021 - 10:43 AM)

Sounds like most of the U.S.  Not the exact whether, but it being prone to "extreme" changes.  Plus, it is nearly spring, when such swings are more plausible.

@  Steevy Maximus : (13 March 2021 - 06:02 PM)

A month ago, we had inches of snow. Tonight? 75 degrees with high possibility of severe thunderstorms. Oklahoma weather has just gotten crazier over the years.

Thats fed ex for you... if your in the US

@  wonko the sane? : (13 March 2021 - 12:48 PM)

Related note: one of my packages DID arrive today. It was an ordeal though, because despite the delivery driver being parked RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, he couldn't find the place.

@  wonko the sane? : (12 March 2021 - 06:02 PM)

Waiting on a bunch of stuff, but my BBTS order is a good six weeks out since it only shipped this week.

@  ▲ndrusi : (12 March 2021 - 12:36 PM)

... and now I have got them. icon-fire.gif

If some of you are unfamiliar with the show, this will (hopefully) jog your memory:

Adventures of T-Rex was a Japanese/American DiC co-production, a humorous cartoon series from 1992 with film noir and TMNT vibes - and dinosaurs. icon-hotrod.gif The main characters are five T-rex brothers who work as stage performers, while also fighting crime in their secret identities, especially the 'Don' of the city, Big Boss Graves (and his annoying nephew Little Boss).

I remember watching it as a kid - both in english and german - and I always found it a funny show. Sadly, apart from a some recorded VHS-rips of episodes on Youtube, the show is almost impossible to obtain these days. But until some months ago, I was not even aware that there were toys produced for the show - although they were made by Simba, and sold exclusively in Germany. So imagine my surprise when I found them on Ebay recently, MOSC, for very low prices! icon-hotrod.gif I bought them all naturally.

The five brothers in their civilian clothes - from left to right: Bernie, Bugsy, Buck, Bubba and Bruno.

The brothers in their armored form (same line-up)

Little Boss and Shooter, two of Big Boss' underlings, plus Myrna, the employer of the brothers.

The back of the cards - I am still missing Big Boss and Axe from the set.

Although I generally do not collect MOSC/MISB stuff (can't keep them sealed for long, usually my curiosity gets the better of me...) icon-hotrod.gif, I will refrain from opening these. icon-hotrod.gif I have seen loose ones appear on German Ebay once before (although I was overbid), it's just hard to look for them, as sellers usually only list them under T-rex, and that's a long search list to skim through.

Probably many carded toys must have been found in a store recently, as there is anotherEbay listing for 6 MOSC figures - for 250$.... (you do not want to know how much less these cost me. icon-fire.gif)

Now there's something I didn't think I'd read when I woke up today.

Well, at least they're not proper action figures, or there'd be murdering in progress now. But I'd be lying if I said a Little Boss figurine wouldn't be a must buy if I found one. icon-waspy.gif

Man, I remember this show. It was syndicated and all over the schedule. Ice guns, man. All about the ice guns.
Fall of Cybertron will blow your mind. That is all.

ExVee - You know, I actually liked Little Boss too, myself. He is one of the few "annoying comedy characters" on a kid's show who get treated as annoying on the show as well! icon-hotrod.gif People would like Wheelie more as well if Rodimus would have shouted "And don't call me Hot Rod just because it rhymes better!" at him every now and then. icon-fire.gif

I'll take closer/better pics of them on the weekend, btw. Sun never shines in my apartment by the time I get home from work on workdays, hence the flash.

Funny, but the original concept of the show would have been much darker - the brothers would have been gangsters - fighting against the rival gangster Big Boss and the inept police too, there was no armor-upgrade transition, and the ice guns were, well, real guns. You can see the original designs on the japanese designer's website.

Wheelie was fine in the movie, when he was just a snarky little bastard with a funny speech pattern, that made infrequent appearances.

Then they over-used him in Season 3 as the Bumblebee replacement, which is where things went bad for him.

Yes, up until Nick and Simon reinvented him in the IDW Spotlight, he was high on my "most annoying character ever" list. icon-hotrod.gif

Anyone else thinks that Big Boss looks kinda like the Boogeyman from Ghostbusters at first glance?

That's another cartoon I have to download and watch someday... icon-hotrod.gif I like the show much better then the movies (and as I saw the cartoon first, always wondered why Egon wasn't blonde in the movie...)
