Looks like lasers are back on the menu, boys!

@  RichardT1977 : (10 December 2017 - 06:44 PM)

I understood that reference.

@  Bass X0 : (10 December 2017 - 09:25 AM)

But Ziv Zulander doesn't.

@  Paladin : (10 December 2017 - 09:08 AM)

"Zoolander" sucks.

@  Nutjob R/T : (09 December 2017 - 12:11 AM)

Are you serious? I just told you like, a second ago

@  Shrug : (08 December 2017 - 10:38 PM)

@  Shrug : (08 December 2017 - 02:16 PM)

But why male models?

@  RichardT1977 : (08 December 2017 - 10:42 AM)

This is what I'm saying.

@  TheMightyMol... : (08 December 2017 - 10:40 AM)

....Can a word really be a portmanteau of itself?

@  RichardT1977 : (08 December 2017 - 10:03 AM)

And was "fowl" supposed to be a portmanteau of "fowl" and "owl"? Because...

@  MEDdMI : (08 December 2017 - 09:04 AM)

@Patchouli Norman...? *looks up pics* HAHAHAHAA yessssss!!! :D

@  TheMightyMol... : (08 December 2017 - 01:10 AM)

Fowl, actually.

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 11:33 PM)

Back to Mighty Max: Am I the only one who thought at first that Virgil was an owl until someone said otherwise?

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 11:29 PM)

(N/M, it was Gary Chalk)

@  Echowarrior : (07 December 2017 - 08:45 PM)

I second that Exosquad revival. It had awesome toys and the VAs are all still alive...so far as I know.

@  Patchouli Kn... : (07 December 2017 - 07:25 PM)

Also, can confirm that Allspark user TheMightyMollusk is the real-life counterpart of Norman

@  Patchouli Kn... : (07 December 2017 - 07:16 PM)

The Mighty Max intro theme was rad as hell

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 06:17 PM)

So, syndicated stuff that Rob Paulsen did in the 90s isn't going to DVD, huh?

@  D.M : (07 December 2017 - 05:40 PM)

Yeah, whatever is going on with Mighty Max? They haven't even reran it after its original run (unlike, for example, The Mask which too awaits a DVD release).

@  Vexwing : (07 December 2017 - 03:56 PM)

I just want 90's nostalgia to progress to the point someone finally releases Mighty Max on DVD.

@  Dekafox : (07 December 2017 - 03:11 PM)

Maybe someone will revive Exosquad and finally resolve that ending cliffhanger

@  TheMightyMol... : (07 December 2017 - 02:21 PM)

I'm waiting for 90s nostalgia to hit the point that someone tries to bring back Extreme Dinosaurs.

@  Locoman : (07 December 2017 - 01:41 PM)

You know you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of 80's nostalgia when you're trying to bring back the Sectaurs, of all things....

@  Shrug : (07 December 2017 - 08:17 AM)

Wowza. I haven't played any kind of 3D video game with those third person conversations for some time. They look super awkward once you're not used to them.

@  Waspinator : (06 December 2017 - 04:48 AM)

And the award for best title drop goes to.

@  TheMightyMol... : (06 December 2017 - 01:09 AM)

Epic Mickey: Backstroke of the West.

@  Locoman : (05 December 2017 - 11:32 PM)

Pete has come himself! Okay! Then I shall get Pete to fight me! Heh heh huh!

@  Jetstream C-18 : (05 December 2017 - 09:37 PM)

Something strange has happened! Now there are TWO Mickey Mice!

@  Jetstream C-18 : (05 December 2017 - 09:36 PM)

Wait. Fox owns Star TV? As in the Star TV that aired the Omni dubs?

@  Shrug : (05 December 2017 - 09:33 PM)

Long ago in a distant land, I, Mickey, the shape shifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and flung him into the future where my evil is law. Now the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Mouse.

@  ZakuConvoy : (05 December 2017 - 09:11 PM)

Who's the master of the Earth and all that he surveys? M-I-C...

@  Echowarrior : (05 December 2017 - 07:58 PM)

They'll never own the Green Bay Packers.

@  Locoman : (05 December 2017 - 07:17 PM)

Soon Disney will own every franchise on Earth, but on the plus side maybe we'll get to see Homer and Zoidberg in the next Kingdom Hearts game.

@  TheMightyMol... : (05 December 2017 - 06:02 PM)

Every Movie Thread Ever, go!

@  Pennpenn : (05 December 2017 - 04:20 PM)

I probably could have tolerated the explosions and scrap metal bots if the main human character's initial set up hadn't been "pointless white male teen pathetically trying to get his leg over an attractive girl". The universe never needed more of that kind of thing.

@  Bass X0 : (05 December 2017 - 02:58 PM)

Can't a man block it out?

@  PlutoniumBoss : (05 December 2017 - 12:20 PM)

I will never hate the movies because the avalanche of money and attention they have provided the brand with has given us toys that were unthinkable a decade ago.

The real question is how many poops have they tasted to determine the flavor qualifications.

Below: Housekeeping and details // Other Ways to Give // Sig. Generator

Announcement: Allspark.com 2012 Charity Drive!

In what has quickly become my favorite and proudest time of year around here at the Allspark, I'm excited to announce the beginning of our 2012 Charity Drive to benefit the Hasbro Children's Hospital! Our first drive in 2010 was a surprise - a grassroots effort that sprang forth after we pooled money to buy a rare vintage toy catalog and then went on to donate nearly $2500. Last year we raised nearly $6400 and were then stunned when it was personally matched by Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner.

This year's goal: $8000. The deadline is 11:59pm on Sunday, February 26. $5 minimum suggested, but any amount is appreciated! Donate using the donation sig below, or continue to the post below for alternate payment methods.

We'll once again set out to buy a sponsorship of the Hasbro Children's Hospital annual fundraising gala being held on March 3 in Providence, RI. It's entitled the "Battleship Ball," based upon Hasbro's board game and upcoming movie property. Our sponsorship will earn us recognition at the event and in print materials, as well as 8 tickets to the gala. Read here to see Powered Convoy's report and photos from last year's awesome event.

It's a big number, and an ambitious goal. Higher even than last year's already surprising total. But this community - the strongest I've ever seen on fan forums - has done nothing short of the amazing in so generously giving support to sick kids and their families. I have a lot of confidence in this community, and I think we can do it!

A few minor pieces of housekeeping:

Method of Donation
This year we've integrated our automated system with Amazon Payments instead of Paypal (due to Paypal's recent bad track record with grassroots charity drives like this). It's actually really slick - it's no more difficult to donate than it is to buy a DVD or book or something! A small fee applies if you use the automated widget, but we feel it's worth it for the convenience. If you would like to pay a different way, scroll down for other options.

Tax Deductions
Please remember that if you give to the Allspark effort, your contributions are NOT tax-deductible. In effect, this constitutes many small gifts to a single individual (either Daytonus or myself). Only that person's single donation to the Hasbro Children's Hospital is deductible. However, as in previous years, any tax benefit as a result of claiming those deductions on our returns will be donated right back into the donation effort of the following year. (Last year I believe that was a couple hundred dollars. When I do my taxes, I'll let you all know what benefit last year's drive brings.) However, if your donation not being tax deductible makes this a dealbreaker for you, we understand, and would still encourage you to donate directly to the Hasbro Children's Hospital! While the collective credit to the community is nice, what really matters is support for the kids.

Money Only, But Be Creative
We are only able to collect money for this effort, not toys or other goods (whether new or used). But we'd still collect only money even if we could do other things. It turns out that money is by far the most efficient way for charitable organizations like the Hasbro Children's Hospital to support their work, because they can use it for research, diagnosis, patient care, and amenities (which includes toys and games). However, if you'd like to help and don't have money to spare, that's okay and we certainly don't want you living off ramen all month. Instead, consider selling used toys on Ebay and then contributing the proceeds. Do some commission art work in exchange for donations. Do some legwork for us - get the word out to your social networks, to your friends, and to your families! The more people who hear about this great community and the difference it's making, the more they'll be interested in helping!

ALERT: Everything is fine.

Other Ways to Contribute

Paypal: Send to grafferty@comcast.net. (For the type of transaction select "Personal", and mark it as "Gift".)

Personal check, money order, or other payment type: We continue to discourage these methods of payment mostly as a matter of convenience, but if you want to contribute and this is the only way, we'll try to accommodate you. Send a PM to Galenraff to request your payment type, and he'll work out the details with you. Please make these arrangements prior to February 15 if possible, so all transactions have time to clear before the deadline.

Signature Generator

Last year, the donation widget had a little Easter Egg -- character customization for our My Little Pony fans! This year, we're doing even more, pitting all manner of aquatic Transformers against the Ponies in a thrilling game of Battleship! Make your sig below!

I screwed up my first donation, so I donated twice.

$5 and $50

Hopefully we get close to our goal. I'm going to try and do an Ebay auction or two in February, so I can donate more - get rid of a few things and maybe sell a custom or two.

It just said my transaction failed. No potentially useful information of any kind.

Edit: Tried again and it worked. Must have been a transient glitch.
