But The Pillows prefer to kill you with Poison Rock'N'Roll

@  Rodimus Supreme : (09 December 2018 - 10:23 AM)

Pillows can kill you softly.

@  Pennpenn : (09 December 2018 - 07:26 AM)

His song.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (09 December 2018 - 05:34 AM)

But is anything killing you softly?

@  Pennpenn : (09 December 2018 - 03:03 AM)

Oh don't be ridiculous. Some things are killing us quickly!

@  Rodimus Supreme : (08 December 2018 - 10:46 PM)

Isn't everything just killing us all slowly?...

@  wonko the sane? : (08 December 2018 - 09:23 PM)

Except the planet of junk actually fosters life, as opposed to the garbage patch which is just killing us all slowly.

@  RichardT1977 : (08 December 2018 - 11:11 AM)

I realized the other day that the Planet of Junk/Junkion is the interstellar counterpart to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

@  unluckiness : (08 December 2018 - 08:56 AM)

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (07 December 2018 - 10:33 PM)

Always hopeful yet discontent, he knows changes aren't permanent, but change is!

@  Pennpenn : (07 December 2018 - 07:16 PM)

Nonsense. Everything changes, the cycle is an illusion.

@  Waspinator : (07 December 2018 - 07:03 PM)

Turning, turning, turning through the years. Minutes into hours, and the hours into years. Nothing changes, nothing ever can. Round about the roundabout. Round and round and back where you began!

@  Pennpenn : (07 December 2018 - 06:56 PM)

The change was you got something off your wishlist. Be happy about that if nothing else!

@  wonko the sane? : (07 December 2018 - 02:09 PM)

I finally got something off my steam wishlist! but managed to add another title immediately: so there was no change. Dang it.

@  Shrug : (06 December 2018 - 08:17 AM)

Yeah, that happened to mine a few weeks ago. Common problem.

Man, I still haven't gotten past Rock Tunnel.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (06 December 2018 - 03:28 AM)

You know nothing.. NOTHING! Eevee is our lord and savior! He will give us the cuteness we need! ;) No seriously.. Both Pika and Eevee in the games are way OP and Eevee can learn elemental moves to replace evolving.

@  TheMightyMol... : (06 December 2018 - 03:22 AM)

It's cute, what other point does it need?

@  Pennpenn : (06 December 2018 - 03:17 AM)

I can get Pikachu not evolving, the species has had decades of not evolving. But Eevee without evolution seems... pointless?

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (06 December 2018 - 03:15 AM)

Neither can Pikachu... And you don't need Eevee to evolve!

@  TheMightyMol... : (06 December 2018 - 03:15 AM)

Neither of them can evolve as starters.

@  Pennpenn : (06 December 2018 - 02:30 AM)

Also damn it my mouse wheel broke. What a pisser.

@  Pennpenn : (06 December 2018 - 02:30 AM)

It can't evolve.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (06 December 2018 - 02:29 AM)

How dare you! You KNOW Eevee is the obvious choice!

@  wonko the sane? : (05 December 2018 - 05:48 PM)

Finished mine a few days ago, and just bought myself (I really shouldn't have, but did anyway.) let's go pikachu with the pokeball.

@  Cybersnark : (05 December 2018 - 03:47 PM)

Mostly. There's a book en route to my mom's house from the UK and I don't know if it'll arrive before January.

@  Cybersnark : (05 December 2018 - 03:46 PM)

Christmas shopping: complete.

@  RichardT1977 : (05 December 2018 - 12:37 PM)

(which would lead to a bunch of bad jokes about him selling a line of cashews, almonds, and pecans)

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (05 December 2018 - 12:37 PM)

That would make sense per the precedent of Kamen Rider OOO ("Kamen Raidā Ōzu").

@  RichardT1977 : (05 December 2018 - 12:35 PM)

Wouldn't it be pronounced "Kamen Rider D's"?

@  fourteenwings : (05 December 2018 - 11:37 AM)

Kamen Rider Dream Drop Distance?

@  Sabrblade : (05 December 2018 - 09:57 AM)

Kamen Rider DDD, or "3D" as it would be pronounced.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (05 December 2018 - 06:50 AM)

Dedede is secretly a Kamen Rider? You know what? Why not. I honestly wouldn't be suprised!

I would have an all action master set. I want it badly. Jazz and Tomahawk are going to get a lot of love in this set.

Main Set

Terradive with a new head as Skyfall.
Tomahawk using Vortex's head as Over Run.
Jazz With a new head as Jackpot.
Warpath with his same head as Treadshot.
Straxus with a new head as Gut Cruncher.
And ROTF Mindwipe as Krok because we need a larger mold and if it wasn't for his hands, I feel Mindwipe would be awesome for Krok.

----

Two pack

Tomahawk with a new head as Sprocket.
Drift with Blurr guns as Charger.

----

Other two pack

ROTF Axer as Circuit.
Jazz as Rad with Jackpot head.

------

Troop Builder three pack.

This is the hardest part, really. Who works good with the Action Masters, who is many?
I'd repaint Classics Grimlock as an army of Tyrannitrons, and he can be repurposed as G2 Grimlock if someone desires.
Or I'd use Grimlock as the Alligator-cons from the 86 movie just because people need a representation of those things. I like the Tyrannitron idea the most.

------

Other Action Master ideas would be-

Tomahawk with a Sprocket head as Rumbler.
Jazz with his head or Botcon Treadshots head as Take-Off.
Vortex as Powerflash.

Groove from Wreck-Gar (New Head)

I know as a real Botcon toy its size makes this unlikely, but still if we're just spit-balling dreams I think 2010 Brimstone/Chopsaw with a new head would be a much better match for Groove.

-ZacWilliam, it just seems a more fitting type of bike for him to me, and its bot mode's got odd legs and long feet just like the original Groove.

Slightly OT, but this post made me get out Brimstone and fiddle with him. Turns out a Halo Mega Blocks minifigure head fits on his ball joint perfectly. So now I'm seriously considering kitbashing Groove myself... Only problem is he has a lot of parts that rub together or hold by friction in alt mode. I really need Hasbro to do a white and black version of this mold now.

-ZacWilliam, as a bonus also now has a Halo minifigure sporting Brimstone's creepy robot skull face...
Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?
Or the proverbial ailerons of Titanium Moosebots?

Generation 2: Redux: Again: Continued: More

Theme here is pretty simple--it's just picking up where G2R left off.
Box set:

Evil Decepticons:
Ransack from Highbrow, as per ZacWilliam's suggestion.
Road Pig from Wreck-Gar. Uses Scrapheap's head.
Fearswoop from ROTF Dirge.
versus heroic Autobots:
Electro is reserved for Generations Kup. He gets two of the retools: a new head, and a sword to replace Kup's gun.
Turbofire from ROTF Brawn.

Attendee freebie:
Manta Ray/Strafe from PCC Undertow/Waterlog. See, Waterlog's vehicle weapon mode is somewhat similar in shape to G1 Strafe's vehicle mode, so coloring it like G2 Strafe makes for a decent, if tiny, "transitional" form. I figure between being the freebie, Undertow being pretty big for his pricepoint, and the inclusion of a Mini-Con, it shouldn't hurt too much that he isn't a Deluxe.

Souvenir set 1:
Solarbot from RtS Jazz. Yeah, that's right. Solarbot. Whatcha gonna do about it, huh? Huh?
Calcar from ROTF Brawn.

Souvenir set 2:
Motormouth is also reserved for Generations Kup.
Hook from Cybertron Mudflap, and if you think I mean green then you obviously aren't paying much attention.

Army builder souvenir set:
Sandstorm from ROTF Dirge, colored like this thing and characterized as some army builder justification or other.

Fund it. Actually, I wouldn't mind some sort of unreleased G2 set. Tigerstripe Megatron, Powered Convoy Prime (kinda already getting that one), White/Green/Yellow cycle Jazz/navy cycle Soundwave, Sergeant Hound, Greasepit, tiger Grimlock, black death Starscream, Sandstorm Ramjet etc.

War for Velocitron

Um, they already did a yellow Mudflap. Although, that one resembled Erector more than hook. Still, yellow Mudflap.

Last year's voyager Highbrow as G2 Rotor Force Decepticon Ransack. both WW2 era planes with prominent propellers. I love this idea, specially since I missed the toy the first time.

To go with him we really need Energon Bulkhead as G2 Rotor Force Powerdive. They've got the exact same transformation and rotor based weaponry. While we're at Rotor Force, PCC Undertow as Manta Ray since we already have Leadfoot thanks to PCC.

This thread got me thinking ... does anyone else find it odd that we have had a run in recent years of Optimus molds being used? Ones that are unquestionably Optimus. You would think that considering how protective Hasbro is over "their Superman" that those molds would be more or less off limits.

Megatron has had, what, one of his molds used? In the SG set? Tho I would attribute that more towards Megatron toys as of late being mostly movie-centric or too large in the case of the Animated leader mold.

Here's my set. Dead Mech's Chest

Returning from a particularly successful raid, Cannonball and his crew come under attack by a mysterious and powerful stranger. Cannonball himself is injured and "reformats" the way only dread pirates can. The new captain worries their stronghold will be discovered and that it's time to move. ?Little do they know the true value of the items they just liberated from a decepticon lab. The decepticons hire the two best bounty hunters they can find, Death's Head and Devcon, to retrieve the stolen goods. Before its too late. Meanwhile, the original owner of the items finally senses the energy signature he's been searching countless shanghai's for, and sets out to recover the key to his master's plan. He brings along a lowly decepticon who was working on the project, but who may also have a secret of his own.?

Air pirates!?
Hftd Highbrow as Cannonball.
Rotf Dirge as Scuttlebutt (new character)
Dotm Skyhammer ?as Sandstorm
Rotf Thrust as Brushgaurd?
Dotm Airraid as Broadside

Souvenier set 1: Mercenaries?
Rotf Lockdown as Death's Head (new head)
Generations Scourge as Devcon (new head)

Souvenier Set 2: Dimensional Travellers
Dotm Space Case as Sideways
Generations Warpath as Gobot Treds (with existing alt head)

Freebie:
Universe Octane as G1 Greasepit, the pirate fuel specialist/treasurer?

Instead of the troop builder set:
Energon Tidal Wave as the pirate air ship

I'm on my phone now. When I get home I'll upload my Cannonball digibash and my updated pirate faction symbol. I'll do bashes on the rest of them later this week.

Edit: Cross posted from the suggest a repaint thread, here's my rough draft Cannonball. Emblems later.

BOTCON SET - G2 SIDE STORY - CENTAUR PROGRAM

Storyline: With the recent advances in cybernetics, the same Cybertronian-Nebulon infused technology has allowed the Earth Defense Command to improve on the experiments conducted by Old Snake on the Autobots, creating the next generation of exo-suits for use in defending the planet against the Evil Decepticons. Through the hard work of of Chip Chase and Henry Masterson and the guidance of Professor Morris.

The first prototype, Centurion, is an a tank-based unit with an experimental fusion cannon similar to Megatron's weapon of choice. The second prototype, a cycle-based unit called Jaye by its test pilot, Commander Marissa Fairborne. The third and prototype is a sport-car dubbed Binaltech, paying homage to the predecessor to the Alternators line of exo-suits.?The fourth and final exo-suit is entitled Headmaster, as it encompasses two separate units: a robot body and a non-transforming detachable head/ship.

However, Masterson, one of the chief designers steals the final prototype and the technical designs for the other units with the help of Dr. Arkeville and his Autorooper minions. ?With the help of their Autobot allies, can the EDC stop their enemies from using their own technology against them.

Six-Figure Box Set:

Centurion?- Cybertronian Megatron mold with new head?(colors match Transformers UK Comic Centurion with head a homage to the character).

Jaye?- TF Prime First Addition Arcee with new head?(colors match to Marissa Fairborne Space Uniform from G1 Cartoon with new head a homage to space helmet).

Binaltech?- TF Prime First Edition Bumblebee?(homage to black repaint of BW Prowl).

Headmaster?- TF Prime First Edition Bulkhead with new head?(colors match Headmaster unit from Animated, head replica of headmaster and is detachable).

Arkeville?- TF Prime First Edition Starscream with new head (colors match the black/gold G1 Starscream).

Zoom-Zoom - Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz red repaint.

Notes: I obviously wanted to get more use out of the first edition versions of the TF Prime toys in this entire set of toys. ?Given the fact that Botcon tends to go back to previous universes to tell stories, I liked the idea of continuing the G2 story, without going to the obvious choices. ?I liked bringing back the obscure and the humans without bringing in the Pretenders. ?Humans in a war with robots would have to have tech to stand up to the size of the Transformers alone.

The premise is that three of the five deluxes in the box set are humans wearing transforming exo-suits?(think Robotech). ?First, Centurion, would be controlled by Professor Morris, as in the UK Comic. ?The choice of Cybertronian Megatron made sense in part because I wanted to use the WfC Bumblebee as Glyph. ?In my collection, the various Megatron toys serve as different characters at times. ?I also didn't want to go for Either Megatron from the Prime series as both were flying alt modes and I ultimately decided to bring in the Headmaster from Animated.

Jaye's name is of course a shout out to Lady Jaye, mother of Marissa Fairborne. The color choices are self explanatory.

Binaltech as a straight repaint of Bumblebee makes sense since his face is vastly different from G1 Bee. ?The name Binaltech is ?clear shout to the Binaltech line, but also to the user of the suit, Chip Chase, who played a key role in the story. ?As Chip was Prowl II, I opted to choose the second design for the BW toy as its darker colors would stand apart from Jaye's white and blue-trimmed look, but allow the toy to stand on its own despite homaging Prowl II. ?Within the story, Morris and Chase are forced to use the suits to stop Masterson.

The homage to the Animated Headmaster is clear, but I wanted the body of the robot to match the head. ?After-all, Masterson would have probably done so if he was creating everything from scratch as opposed to stealing Bulkhead's body.

I liked the idea of Arkeville having Starscream-like exo-suit since he and the Air Commander interacted in G1, plus the character was packaged with Skywarp, another jet. ?The black version of Starscream was chosen because the color scheme had not yet been used outside Takara yet.

Zoom-Zoom is a G2 Autobot, created in the image of Jazz as part of Binaltech. ?He is one of the prototype Transformers from the program and was only given a spark recently, despite years of gaining knowledge as an AI unit for EDC.

Autobot Reinforcements Two-Pack:

Tap-Out - TF Prime First Edition Cliffjumper green repaint.

Glyph?- Cybertronian Bumblebee blue repaint with new G1 Bumblebee head.

Notes: I figured the Autobots would assign someone to assist in protecting the secrets of the project, so G1 Tap-Out and Glyph were chosen as I wanted to give a shout out to previous conventions. ?The new head for Glyph and mold choices were so that they would be unique in their own right but different from Bee and Cliffjumper. ?We also get deluxe versions of minibots.

E-Hobby Redux Two-Pack:

Road Hauler?- Reveal the Shield Solar Storm Grappel lime-green repaint.

Detritus with Howlback - Universe Hound tan repaint with Universe Ravage blue repaint.

Notes: I simply want these toys and the convention is usually the place where the obscure show up. ?Plus, they could also be different versions or upgrades for the mirrorverse.

Three-Pack Army Builder:

Autoroopers?-TF Prime First Edition Vehicons white/black repaints.

Notes: Evil Autoroopers. ?'Nuff said.

Attendee Freebie:

Decepticharge?- TF Prime Knockout yellow repaint.

Notes: From the rules I only have four new parts, so I went outside the first editions with another homage to Alternators and Binaltech.

I think some criteria should be no Scouts (or smaller) or Leaders (or bigger) are used (as BotCon has said they're too expensive to produce) and that at least 1 or 2 molds is reused in the set (as that seems to be a requirement too).

Yup. I also think that reuse of molds from previous years should be mostly avoided as seems to be usually the case. The only exception was SG Thundercracker and that was only because Seekers using that mold were in demand. Mold reuses from previous years should only be done if the mold was quite popular or if a popular character has to be used from that mold. I see a lot of mold reuses of average demand for average characters.

Personally, I find the challenge of choosing molds that haven't already been used along with the other limitations make this game more interesting to play.

Just because you can't win doesn't mean you stop working.

Avoiding old molds was the hardest part for me. That and the non box set guys. The only reason I went with Tidal Wave instead of troop builders is because there'd be a riot if Tidal Wave wasn't included. I mean if mine were a real set. That appealed to anyone but me.

Having the admittee free figure as a Kre-O would be cool if it saved money for other toys, accessories, paint apps.

As for my set, the ideas were (1) get 1st Edition toys used and (2) get robotic versions of human characters.

They have said if they had a good idea, they'd use a Scout again

I can't think up a full set or why he'd be in it, but I'd personally like a set with PCC Waterlog as Omega Spreem, because that mold makes a perfect Spreem. Only lacks the tank mode
