Blaming capitalism will soon be a felony.

@  Cyoti : (18 December 2017 - 02:01 PM)

I just blame Bain Capital.

@  Shrug : (18 December 2017 - 01:28 PM)

The most immediately annoying aspect of TRU's financial situation is that every single time a grown man experiences a minor inconvenience that he would experience at any retailer in the country, he makes a post online about how obvious it would be to completely pay off their debt by stocking a single toyline slightly differently.

@  Bass X0 : (18 December 2017 - 12:58 PM)

Overhearing a conversation... what do you have to do in life to earn the nickname "Pineapple"?

@  TheMightyMol... : (18 December 2017 - 10:11 AM)

"Have you tried lighting the darkest hour, sir?"

@  MEDdMI : (17 December 2017 - 10:44 PM)

Next thing you know, you'll wake up with Unicron looming over you, holding a knife.

@  Paladin : (17 December 2017 - 07:51 PM)

i remember the missile gears malfuctioned a lot. damn thing once shot me in the middle of the night.

@  Fenix Twilight : (17 December 2017 - 06:54 PM)

Just transformed Unicron probably for the first time since I got him in 03, fun stuff. Still would like a new version but since they just did another release last year I guess we're stuck with that mold.

@  Shrug : (17 December 2017 - 06:16 PM)

Yeah, I think that might work on the red one, if I can find a neon enough yellow

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (17 December 2017 - 06:10 PM)

How about neon yellow/green? Like on Krok?

@  Shrug : (17 December 2017 - 05:45 PM)

I'm dealing with a black/grey robot and a red/black robot.

@  Shrug : (17 December 2017 - 05:44 PM)

I'm thinking of making some figures "G2" with minor paint additions: a little panel lining, probably. What colors in small amounts make you think G2?

@  Nevermore : (17 December 2017 - 05:41 PM)

Don't worry, it was grammatically correct, it just wasn't "fluent". :)

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (17 December 2017 - 03:29 PM)

Scheiße.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (17 December 2017 - 03:22 PM)

Damn. I initially thought of writing "Herzliche Glückwünsche", but I thought that didn't fit because we don't know each other in real life. But I forgot to check for quantity after dropping "Herzliche".

@  TM2-Megatron : (17 December 2017 - 03:14 PM)

It'll be nice when they finally perfect universal translation algorithms

@  Nevermore : (17 December 2017 - 02:43 PM)

In German, you only pluralize "Glückwunsch" when it's several people congratulating someone. As in, "I received everyone's congratulations."

@  Nevermore : (17 December 2017 - 02:42 PM)

That's actually a hypercorrect literal translation that immediately reveals you as a non-native speaker.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (17 December 2017 - 01:04 PM)

Glückwünsche!

@  ILoveDinobot : (17 December 2017 - 12:34 PM)

@  WorkbenchManiac : (17 December 2017 - 11:14 AM)

And top top it all off, my employer will offer a one-off bonus for moving to permanent late shift, and another annual bonus if I stay on permanent late shift for an entire year.

@  Nevermore : (17 December 2017 - 11:10 AM)

That's basically my personal dream shift.

TBH, the use of the word "boudoir" seemed a bit more out of place to me than the humour... has a non-English Terran language ever been established as existing in Star Wars before?

@  PlutoniumBoss : (17 December 2017 - 01:28 AM)

It's not like it's a big deal anyway. I mean, anything with Aurebesh in it is demonstrably non-canon, because there's no X in Aurebesh so X-Wings wouldn't be called X-Wings, right?

@  2017 : (16 December 2017 - 09:35 PM)

I'm fine with the humour because the rest of the universe feels legit, and it's not ten quips a minute like those bloody Marvel movies.

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 December 2017 - 08:11 PM)

Also, it can't be worse than those awful "sarcastic" jokes in the beginning of AotC that were meant to establish a camaraderie between Anakin and Obi-Wan where it was clear that none existed.

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 December 2017 - 08:09 PM)

Doesn't sound like something I'll be bothered by; movies have to change at least a little bit with the times

@  Waspinator : (16 December 2017 - 07:59 PM)

Yeah, there was some sarcastic humor that wasn't really present in the classic movies

@  Steevy Maximus : (16 December 2017 - 02:00 PM)

I didn't have a problem with it. But it DOES skew a bit more "modern" in ways the humor of prior films didn't, short maybe Rogue One

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 December 2017 - 01:20 PM)

I'm staying spoiler-free until I see it tonight, but a number of people seem really angry at the humour in the film

@  TM2-Megatron : (16 December 2017 - 01:19 PM)

I've already noticed some backlash against it over on blu-ray.com, but a lot of it seems to stem from anger about the Disney/Fox deal

@  TheMightyMol... : (16 December 2017 - 11:23 AM)

Because internet.

@  Bass X0 : (16 December 2017 - 11:20 AM)

Why are people getting so upset with other people's opinions of a family space movie?

If your FE Bumblebee's chest doesn't peg together, you're not transforming it right.

And yet I am judging by the instructions and online photos of the robot mode. The neck piece connects to the "peg" in front of the spine, and the chest piece covers that, but there's no actual force to hold those together. If I pull on his head a bit too forcefully, the chest completely separates. As for the shoulder pieces, it's the same thing. The "pegs" on both sides of the chest are inserted in the grooves of the shoulder pieces, but again they don't so much "peg" as they just stay there and moving an arm too much causes the corresponding shoulder piece to disconnect from the chest.

And just in case you doubt me, I've been collecting TFs for over 15 years. I've seen pegs before, and they're almost always designed to plug into holes and stay there. On Prime Bumblebee 1.0 (or just mine maybe?), the problems come from tabs/pegs and the holes that don't seem to be designed to exert friction on the former. Then again, for some reasons half of his joints are incredibly floppy so I might have bought a really defective one.

You can reward me by sending me Soundwave. And Megatron.

I'm not sure how much of a reward skipping the entire first wave is considered.

I'm seriously wondering if there isn't multiple versions or a running change or something at work here, because as it stands it looks like about half the people who have FE Bee must be doing it wrong.

Heck, I nearly broke my NYCC Bee trying to make the chest lock into those "hooks". They just... don't.

He doesn't so much "peg together" as he does "rests parts in/on places that they are clearly meant for without friction." I put everything in it's right place, but as soon as you move the arm the shoulder/chest piece may lift up.

On topic: V2 Bee seems to make transformation more intuitive by making chest/neck look uglier.

Mine definitely pegs together. You have to use an amount of force to get his chest halves out of his torso.

Add me to the list of having a Bee where his chest isn't so much pegged in but rather just resting there. It stays together just fine if I don't move him...or breathe on him. icon-wildride.gif

Yeah...between the NYCC one, two defective FE ones and the good one I finally ended up with, they'll all hold a little bit due to friction, but I definitely wouldn't call it locking by any stretch.

Hey, y'know Phaze, I don't think I've ever heard your opinion on the Prime line in general. You used to be pretty vocal about your aesthetic tastes, especially with your dislike of the Movie designs just prior to you (temporarily) leaving the fandom.

But now that the movie designs have worked their way into public consciousness over the last 5 years, such that the new mainline takes heavy cues from that design philosophy (although with a similarly heavy influence from Animated - another line that I'm unsure of where your opinions lie -, to reel it in significantly), how does that make you feel?

Colour me morbidly curious, I guess.

Not very keen, though I find the movie designs and the animated ones to be more or less polar opposites, so the blending of them does cancel out the worst excesses of both. As I've said before, some of the first edition could easily fit in Classics with a different head and curiously, different thighs though. I'm a little sad that several of them appear to have better alt modes that a lot of the recent Classics toys though, Cliffjumper's detailing is excellent.

To be honest, third parties are making enough stuff now I don't care about Hasbro's doings much if they're not turfing out traditionally aesthetic material.

Thanks for indulging my curiosity.

To each his own, I guess. But at least you're giving these guys a chance, unlike the Movie ones.

You've got to admire the beautiful engineering on these things at least, managing to pull off some ridiculous levels of accuracy where 5-10 years ago, we probably wouldn't have thought it possible. And with more simplistic elegance than the RotF figures.

Dear God I wish Hasbro would stop using that translucent gray plastic. It looks knock-offish and it wipes away the sculpted details. I'm also disappointed that Megatron appears so much smaller than Prime. He's depicted so much larger in the show.
How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Okay. I didn't see anyone doubting you and asking for proof. You're not alone in reporting a figure that holds together as was probably intended.

I saw people reporting a different experience. We all know that there can be varying tolerances with the same figure, running changes to a mold, and so on. This isn't really unusual, so I guess I'm not sure why it's getting a "mine works, you're all doing it wrong" defense.
