It isn't quite a "merger", more of Sony having Funi be the main streamer and affiliating with the streaming services Sony owns in other areas. At least for F/GO, they have a 30 days exclusivity for the streaming, and 1 year for whenever the dub comes out.

Currently watching Kaze no Stigma, not a bad series, so far, not great either, I just end up laughing a lot as one of the main characters, he acts all cool and stuff, yet he has his own priorties and a few times leaves the main female character to be the bait, thou she rather inmuture and short tempered which makes her much of the butt of comedy in the series thou it tries to be serious, I just can't help but laugh, in one ep, she keeps falling for various pranks while the main male character, keeps avoiding them and keeping his cool.

Playing a bit of catch up with Boruto today, I kind of stopped watching for a while, simply because the show was begining to bore me, its filler stuff is just plain bad and painfully obvious they don't know what to do. The ep I just watched was Team 25, a stand alone ep, honestly, it was a breath of fresh air, focusing on a team that not been doing to well with their careers as ninjas.
A few days ago, I rewatched Astra: Lost in space, start to finish and its a good series, I think about the best I seen in quite a while. With the latest season, so far, there hasn't really been much of interst to me, thou I think the latest Fate series seems pretty promising.

Usually events are mostly just the seiyuu being seiyuu and performances of character songs. However, that is something I'd like to see personally.
There's lots of stuff that doesn't get translated. Like when the JP BDs come with extra side-novels (or even just like a few story cards), or the Egao no Daika side-story manga, which is now 18 chapters in.
I personally wish Funi and Sentai would translate the events that do get released on BD but I bet most wouldn't feel the same way. Insert or character songs specifically might have prohibitive licensing fees.

Watching Ascendance of a Bookworm, its a light hearted series, basic story is, woman dies and she has a love of books, before she dies, she wishes to be reborn in a world full of books but things don't go to plan and she reborn into a poor family, in a more primative world and while she cannot have her beloved books or newspapers as its very expensive, she sets out to make her own but so far, she not having much luck, aside from learning to read and write in the langauge of the world and in that world she is inventing stuff, such as pancakes, all in one shampoo, bare in mind, the character is a child who is about 4 or 5. If you want a chill out anime, I recomend this one just to relax to and not take to seriously

I don't think I've watched an anime that is as painfully subpar in all aspects, including technical ones, as Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle in a long time.
I was so looking forward to it as well.

Just watched the latest ep of One piece, its an adaption of Oda's prototype for One piece, Romance Dawn, Luffy's goal in it is majorly different to the Luffy we come to know and love, he wants to be a Peacemaker pirate. Its a entertaining ep with lovely animation that stands above much of what been seen resently in One piece

Saw One Piece: Stampede, the new theatrical film to mark the 20th anniversary. The plot wasn't anything special and the villain was powerful but bland and uninteresting. There was sort of a McGuffin plot item that you know exactly what is going to happen to it as soon as it shows up, which made all the fuss over it lack any stakes. What the movie did well, however, was bring together a lot of familiar faces, some from recent arcs and some not seen in a long time, and it was a blast to see them fight and interact. There were also some pretty hilarious moments and great gags sprinkled throughout the flick.
So overall good, one of the better One Piece films I've seen actually, but by no means great. I had a fun time but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to watch it a second time.

Just been watching SAO III latest ep, honestly, I quite enjoyed it, it really felt like they put the critical missing piece of the story into place, at last, I wasn't exactly impressed with the first half of the Alicization story, mainly because it kind of dragged on out in places, so far with its second half, it feels like they finally hit their peek point and running with it.
