Finished Knight's and Magic, and well sorry to say but it's easily one of the worst Isekai's I've finished.
Now I'm not trying to say the show is garbage or anything. It's watchable, but it just is not that interesting.
Far too much of the show is centered around mech design, with seemingly everything else being an after thought.
I really have to disagree with the statements that it's worth it for the story, because what a mess.
I never felt like I was experiencing this with the characters. It felt more like someone was holding a book and summarizing to me what was going on.
Seriously how many times did the story pause so the narrator could explain some background, or state things that are suppose to happen, but we never really see it.
"This event lead to something that would be known as this"
Yeah okay narrator, good to know I guess, but that's never really referenced by the characters like ever.
Speaking of the characters, I can barely remember them and I just finished the show. Quick what was the lady with the scar over her eye called? What was her motivation?
She's barely in the show long enough for me to care. You get a quick line about said motivation and then she's gone.
In Wiseman's Grandchild, when it comes to the villain's motivation, we get an entire episode flashback of what lead to this, and it's really interesting/fun to watch.
If they did that in Knight's and Magic the narrator would have simply stopped the show to explain to me what happened to him, and that's all you'd get. No visuals.
Oh well, I gave it a shot. Can't really recommend though.
Does make me curious though, for those who are saying it was good, what drew you in?
