@  Maximus Ambus : (05 April 2020 - 04:50 AM)

Actually on the subject, I've hard a lot of people refer to a 2011 film called Contagion that they think is relevant.

@  Maximus Ambus : (05 April 2020 - 01:11 AM)

Ah well, I'll stick to the classic British sitcoms: One Foot in the Grave, Til Death Do Us Part and They Think It's All Over.

@  TM2-Megatron : (05 April 2020 - 12:53 AM)

There's always the original, cheesy as it is

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (05 April 2020 - 12:10 AM)

Dunno... Tonight one of the major networks showed a movie with plagues.. including that listening to their leader causes the first born to die. ;P So nah.. I think the Stand could work. :D

@  TM2-Megatron : (04 April 2020 - 09:18 PM)

That's probably the last thing anyone needs to see, at the moment. Maybe when we get to the end of June/beginning of July and we can venture back out, it might be possible to find some enjoyment in The Stand.

@  Maximus Ambus : (04 April 2020 - 02:08 PM)

I suppose the CBS adaptation of Stephen Kings The Stand will be delayed.

@  Rycochet : (04 April 2020 - 11:26 AM)

We'll always be together. Together in electric dreams.

@  Rycochet : (04 April 2020 - 11:25 AM)

Please remember that in these times of social distancing, we'll always be together however far it seems.

@  wonko the sane? : (03 April 2020 - 12:41 PM)

It arrived! Yay!

@  wonko the sane? : (03 April 2020 - 11:25 AM)

Given how the virus lasts about 3-4 days on metals and plastics, it's about the only way to go about getting stuff right now. I ordered a monitor mount for my desk and the delivery has been pushed back twice already.

@  Maximus Ambus : (03 April 2020 - 11:04 AM)

He ordered it online, says it was to keep those delivery boys in business. I did the same a week ago with some Transformers Studio Series figures off Kapow. Don't know if it's wise or not considering.

@  wonko the sane? : (03 April 2020 - 09:12 AM)

You'd be the first. Everyone else has either been frustrated cause the one they wanted was sold out (like during boxing week.) or rushing to replace something broken.

@  RYNO : (03 April 2020 - 08:53 AM)

I actually walked into a store the other day and just randomly decided to buy at 32inch TV. It was just a Vizio, and grabbed a Mounting Bracket for it. No duress. Just a spur of the moment wanted a TV for my master bedroom.

@  wonko the sane? : (03 April 2020 - 07:31 AM)

Conversely: I've never met a person who wasn't buying a TV under duress... so... yeah.

@  wonko the sane? : (03 April 2020 - 07:20 AM)

I think I've met maybe two people other than myself who count cables before buying a TV.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (03 April 2020 - 05:33 AM)

Seriously.. HDMI splitters and switches are so bloody finicky, but most tvs don't have enough inputs.

@  Maximus Ambus : (03 April 2020 - 05:09 AM)

Just spent a hour trying to get my brothers new Samsung TV to read his Playstation and Blu Ray player only to find he was using a HDMI splitter.

@  Steevy Maximus : (02 April 2020 - 11:07 AM)

I could never master oral bullshittery. But in my day I was quite adept with the written word.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (01 April 2020 - 11:32 PM)

You have mastered the art of Bulljive. You must use this power only for good, or entertainment.

@  Sabrblade : (01 April 2020 - 08:58 PM)

This morning, for one of my online classes, I had to give a positive oral presentation about a play that I hated having to watch. I went into it completely unprepared and just winged it. My professor LOVED my presentation and thought it was excellent. She believed every word I said and honestly thought that I enjoyed that miserable play. Best April Fools ever!

Shame he wasn't around more. He seemed like such a jolly, happy soul.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (27 March 2020 - 02:16 PM)

No, he was definitely Metroplex. You could tell because he was in Metroplex's distinctive red and green coloration.

@  Paladin : (27 March 2020 - 02:11 PM)

that was Leader-1. or possibly Jolt. maybe Grindor...

@  PlutoniumBoss : (27 March 2020 - 01:57 PM)

Metroplex was in Armada, in a flashback. He was the same size as everybody else. I thought that was the joke.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (27 March 2020 - 12:39 PM)

@Rodimus Supreme: Gah! You are right! How'd I get that mixed up? x.x;

@  TheMightyMol... : (27 March 2020 - 12:14 PM)

There is no Metroplex. Only Zuul.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (27 March 2020 - 11:13 AM)

@Tm_Silverclaw: There is no Armada Metroplex, he was in Cybertron.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (27 March 2020 - 11:12 AM)

And they'd be better off just retooling Metroplex and Fortress Maximus to be somewhat more accurate and changing/adding parts for interaction with later play gimmicks.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (27 March 2020 - 11:11 AM)

I honestly would prefer that for scale purposes.

@  Cyoti : (27 March 2020 - 11:07 AM)

They can redo all the CW combiners as Titan Class figures like Predaking/Devastator.

@  Dekafox : (27 March 2020 - 07:52 AM)

They could just redo Metroplex again too. Especially if it's going to be S3 based. They could also do another Primus to go with the coming Unicron.

In a related story, my 2 year old, who I call Baby Yoda Bear, found my box of Prequel figures. Its mostly just Clone troopers, a few droids, and a couple Jedi. She had a blast playing with them.

Hasn't hit the nerd sites hard yet.  But Hasbro's doing what I've been suggesting for years: a smaller scale line to get the ships segment to the market in an affordable manner.  Star Wars Mission Fleet.

$8 gets you a single figure with a small vehicle (Chewbacca and early Clone Wars Ashoka shown), or a figure with a "jetpack".  Also shown was a Clone Trooper and Boba Fett.  Bonus points for the Clone Trooper's jetpack evoking the various jetpack toys produced in 2005!

$15 gets you a larger vehicle/walker, shown was a Mandalorian set with the Mando, a speeder bike, AND a floating child with his little basket!  We also get Captain Rex with ATPT and ObiWan with Barc Speeder.

At $20, we're getting Starfighters, again, with included figure.  Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, Luke's X-Wing and Anakin's Jedi Starfighter.

The story I saw at Toy Book didn't have all the images, i09 has the full spread.  REALLY strong Clone Wars focus, but it also doesn't neglect the original trilogy.  I'm actually quite surprised at the total absence of sequel trilogy content at all at launch.

Vehicles looks a bit "chiby", but only on the X-Wing is it really noticable.  I'm also seeing shades of Star Wars Amped in the scale and proliferation of modular ports across the vehicles, nice that those look removable for a more standard look.

About the issue I can call at the moment is that I think the basic assortment is a bit sparse and could use a couple more offerings.  I'm also excited because this means that a $60 Millennium Falcon is feasible (and waiting to be revealed?) and would be a far more impressive offering with these smaller scale figures.

Oh man I need a Razorcrest now.  That Mando set just shot to my #1 from ToyFair so far.  I love that stylized but not quite SD aesthetic, these look almost like better quality Mega Bloks Construx figs.

You've been "suggesting it for years"?

Since the Mini rigs, Micro-collection, Action Fleet, or the random smaller-sized 3.75 ships that were mostly hollow? This looks like the Playskool Galactic Heroes II.

This is a MUCH different aesthetic than the Playskool lines, which I had no interest in.  Like I said, this looks a lot more like a better non-brick-related iteration of Mega Construx minifigures.

Since the Mini rigs, Micro-collection, Action Fleet, or the random smaller-sized 3.75 ships that were mostly hollow? This looks like the Playskool Galactic Heroes II.

Since 2014 when it was obvious that the market really wasn't going to be able to support traditional vehicles at the 3.75" without ever increasing compromises.  I saw Hasbro produce a 2.5" line for Guardians of the Galaxy (to much consternation that it wasn't 3.75").  At the time, you could have gotten the Milano (the "star" vehicle) and the ENTIRE core crew (plus a few extra characters, even) for around $35.  I knew at that moment, the only way fans of Star Wars and GI Joe were ever going to replicate the vehicle play patterns of the old days would be with a smaller scale.

Since then, we got increasingly smaller vehicles at ever increasing prices to the point the 3.75 vehicles are just not impressive or compelling.  The 2015 Resistance X-Wing was $50, and it would have been more in scale with THIS new line of figures, as would the Millennium Falcon.

Hasbro's not "doing the scale" exactly the way I would want it, but it's a move in the right direction, IMO.  They have the "squashed" look to maintain some durability in play (much like a childhood favorite of mine, Dino-Riders), but the price point is key here:

You can get the core trio of Clone Wars characters for $40 and even get a couple vehicles out of the deal.  If they were a 3.75 line or 5" line, assuming they were even all available (REALLY an iffy question given Hasbro's crap selections these past 3 years or so) at the same time, you could get 3 of them for $30.  But a fighter?  That's another $30 on top of THAT.

About the only vehicle I think you could seriously knock the "Playskool Heroes" thing at is the X-Wing.  I'll readily agree it's too "chiby" for my tastes.  But everything looks pretty solid, especially at the price point.  When was the last time you were able to get a Starfighter with a figure for less than $30?

I mean - I can't argue that smaller toys should be cheaper than larger toys, but I think you're underestimating how small these are going to be. The figures are 2.5" tall and the cockpits all take up about a third of the total length of the vehicle. The Resistance X-wing was 16" long; I'd guess this new one will be about six. Yeah, the Solo Falcon was tiny (and didn't sell so great b/c of it), but that's a different part of the discussion.

In the end, this is a fun "kids" line, or a line for people that have never bought another SW toy - but it obviously isn't going to fit in with anything else.

Some images from Disney's event.  Showing the Lego Razor Crest ($130 on 9/1) which includes The Mando, Greef Karga, IG11, the Child, and maybe a Scout Trooper?.  Also some in package looks at Mission Fleet products, including Ashoka's 5" figure present for reference.  As I kind of suspected, they don't look as cartoonish in actual images.

So Presentataion was a lot of ESB 40th Anniversery line as far as the major collector lines were concerned. Lots of Snowspeeder suit Luke in all flavors. Some new wacky bobble heads line that makes Han look like he's from a Garfield comic strip. Lot's of Meh all around unless you love ESB.

But BLACK SERIES ELITE FX REVAN SABER! My god did they save the best for last! Can do both red or Purple and has removable kyber crystal.Only going to cost an arm and a leg. Maybe even your identity.

Does anybody more dialed into Hot Toys than I am know of any US sources other than Sideshow and BBTS? I'm really itching for that Deluxe Mando figure, but BBTS sold out instantly and between tax and shipping, Sideshow costs about fifty bucks more than BigBad did.

So bored at work and looking around on eBay.  Most of the larger scale Star Wars Unleashed figures just arent worth much are they? Ive got a bunch of these at my moms house all in package and was curious what they might be going for.  Guess Im better off holding onto them for awhile.  Anybody else have these?  Not that Im complaining because I love the line, but I wonder if Black Series kinda made this line irrelevant.

I'm guessing that people that like them, have them.

This brings up another point, is anything that Hasbro made for Star Wars have any significant value? Short of something really large, I wouldn't think so.

Depends on what you consider significant, but yes. The TRU wave with the Solo twins and K'Kruhk immediately comes to mind. And the EE comic packs like Darth Nihl and Delilah Blue.
