Anyone still need a Chaos on Velocitron set? Found one at TRU today...

He REALLY likes blowing stuff up.

well, they had to go somewhere.

@  Patchouli Kn... : (21 July 2017 - 08:32 PM)

If there's at least one, you can army-build.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 July 2017 - 07:25 PM)

Are there even enough toys of him to collect?

@  TheMightyMol... : (21 July 2017 - 04:21 PM)

A nerd.

@  Nevermore : (21 July 2017 - 04:19 PM)

Speaking of, what do you call someone who collects toys of the Marvel character The Collector?

@  Nevermore : (21 July 2017 - 04:18 PM)

What about people who collect the "Die Hard" movies?

@  wonko the sane? : (21 July 2017 - 03:54 PM)

A lot of the die hard collectors don't need to be louder...

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (21 July 2017 - 03:22 PM)

@Nevermore Benbot means "amped" as in excited. I believe the term is shorthand for (a sound) amplifier.

@  Nevermore : (21 July 2017 - 03:10 PM)

Or is "shorthand" a synonym for "amputated"?

@  Nevermore : (21 July 2017 - 03:10 PM)

Is "amped" shorthand for "amputated"?

@  Benbot : (21 July 2017 - 12:28 PM)

I am amped! But I also have standards.

@  Fear or Courage : (21 July 2017 - 08:38 AM)

I consider Thew to basically be the model toy collector. We should all aim to be so amped about the thing we collect.

@  Pennpenn : (21 July 2017 - 07:21 AM)

And some people are just whiny jerks who like to complain about stuff and don't realise that, so will invent irrational grievances to fuel that need.

@  Rycochet : (21 July 2017 - 06:13 AM)

A lot of toy collectors don't seem to get that the things the collect are toys.and have unrealistic expectations of what's doable in a modern retail environment. You're not going to get a $100 figure's worth of parts and paint for $20 or less and gimmicks are needed tomake the toys actually, you know, fun.

@  Foffy : (20 July 2017 - 09:40 PM)

Not necessarily. With the right condiments, they can taste surprisingly nice.

@  Evac : (20 July 2017 - 09:37 PM)

I think most toy collectors are bitter in some form.

@  Diecast : (20 July 2017 - 09:37 PM)

...or maybe I'm the bitter one?!  Oh no.

@  Diecast : (20 July 2017 - 09:32 PM)

And I don't even mean that everyone should love it all. But it does seem to bring the angrier ones in from the lurking.

@  Diecast : (20 July 2017 - 09:29 PM)

It's these reveals that always remind me how exceptionally bitter a large portion of toy collectors are on other forums.

@  Sean Whitmore : (20 July 2017 - 07:06 PM)

SDCC toy reveals make adults happy by telling them what they can get eventually. Kids don't care what they can get eventually, you make them happy by getting them whatever's available now.

@  Jalaguy : (20 July 2017 - 06:10 PM)

They exist, they just don't show them at SDCC because they assume that the adult fanbase doesn't care about them.

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 July 2017 - 06:03 PM)

On SDCC stuff...I'm disappointed, but not surprised, at the lack of the actual KIDS toys among all the toys for us old men

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 July 2017 - 04:15 PM)

:burn

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 July 2017 - 04:15 PM)

SSA response? "How would we know to un enroll you if you don't tell us?"

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 July 2017 - 04:14 PM)

I'm supposed to un-enrolled in Medicare at the end of the month (36 months post-transplant), but I'm getting a bill for next quarter's coverage.

I only bought from them once... had a problem with broken items and while it took some time and pestering, I got a replacement, so overall I have a moderate to good impression of the store. I realize some people have horror stories.

I thought about trying to go get some of the custom Classics Seekers like Sunstorm or the purple guys, but either I can't find them or they are already gone.

I can't say as I'm really sad about this. It really wasn't run that well, even if you ignore the fact that he was selling actual KOs.

From the sound of it the business practices were pretty bad (not even bring into that the aspect of selling KOs).... just with regards to attitude and poor customer service.

But I have to say I thought that a number of their releases were pretty cool (like the aforementioned purple Classics Seeker). At least I think those releases were specific to KOtoys, I could be wrong.

Can anyone comment as to the manufacturer of the KO dinocassettes, the extent of KO Toys' involvement with their manufacture (if any) and whether their closing is likely to effect the release of the remaining two cassettes?

Was Kotoys the one making those Headmasters KOs too, or were they just reporting it?

Yeah, definitely. I'm also wondering whether it was Hasbro, Fun Pub, or Takaratomy that did this.

Yeeeeah... I don't think taking out any preorders there right now would be a safe use of cash. I'm kind of wary that he might just take the money and run since the store will be closed.

Funny thing is, I don't know if they even needed a C&D shoved in their face, the way things were being run there.

Yeah, looks like they may already be down. I can't get the site to load at the moment, at least.

Or going up and down, rather. I guess they're getting high traffic.

Although I fully comprehend the legalities of the issue, I will be personally sad to see it go. They offered a lot of fantastic product for me that I would have otherwise never owned. I can't help but smile about that.

Who knows what the future holds anyway. For some, it never ends.

I can't believe they have the balls to announce it as though they are the heroes of the situation, and talk about it being a shame OTHERS don't have the 'the values of Optimus Prime'.

Good riddance. Please stay the hug away from TF products and fandom in the future.

Only time I dealt with KoToys, I paid my money waited a few months, sent some emails asking why they had $50 of my money and I didn't have a product and never got any replies. So they've been out of MY business for a while.

I did have to bite and ordered a CHMS orange Sunstorm for $9.99. I'll let people know if it gets delivered.

Bad News-

KOToys has to stop selling toys,

Good News-

so everything is priced to go.

Please Order now to ensure your stock and delivery time.

Some of the prices are really unbelievable, so please do not miss out on this opportunity and get what you have always wanted. No point in holding back now.

It was nice helping out while we could. Its a shame that others in charge do not hold the same ethics and values as Optimus Prime and most of the Autobots. Sad to say goodbye, but we will have to close the store before 2012.

The store will remain online for live help and email help.

The Forum is undecided.

The bitter self-righteousness in that announcement is so delicious I could literally subsist off it for about a month.
