I feel a need to lighten up the mood.... ;)

@  -LittleAutob... : (30 May 2020 - 10:38 AM)

:p

@  Maximus Ambus : (30 May 2020 - 02:14 AM)

Shockwave did it.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (30 May 2020 - 12:21 AM)

I'm not in the US and at least some of the episodes seem to work for me. I don't know the actual list of places it's available, though.

@  Shockwave 75 : (29 May 2020 - 10:37 PM)

Unfortunately It seems Cyberverse is only available in the US on YouTube.

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 May 2020 - 09:19 AM)

Yes, and its ongoing.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (29 May 2020 - 01:05 AM)

Cyberverse is already officially uploaded to YouTube.

@  fourteenwings : (29 May 2020 - 12:36 AM)

Spin Master is abridging current episodes of Bakugan Armored Alliance and posting the result on YouTube. Maybe Hasbro does that someday too.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 10:59 PM)

I see... :/

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 08:14 PM)

Within the US anyway. Those channels aren't easy or cheap to access in other countries, and their website often region lock content. Tubi is the only good thing on that list: largely identical (but not perfectly so. Damnit. I wanna watch COPS.) country to country and free.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:24 PM)

So yeah, Hasbro is using plenty of venues to spread exposure of their brands

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:23 PM)

Starz currently licenses Transformers G1 and the GI Joe movie (as well as MLP specials). Netflix has more current series available.

@  Nevermore : (28 May 2020 - 07:21 PM)

Study shows: Holders of the title "world's oldest person" have a severely increased risk of dying.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:18 PM)

Tubi TV and Youtube both host various Hasbro cartoons. Both are freely accessed and ad supported. Any basic TV package (barring straight antenna) includes channels like USA Network, SyFy and FX, all of which regularly air the films from Transformers and GI Joe.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 06:18 PM)

I dunno what to tell you, media might be changing slowly, but at least it's still accessible. Even the folks that DON'T get one of the streaming services can watch it on the company website. It's a vehicle for the toy line after all, they need to make an effort to make it as consumable as possible.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 05:41 PM)

Well. Thats said, then.... I guess... :doh

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 04:13 PM)

As long as the the cartoons are profitable, then they'll make more. The media it's shown on is completely irrelevant. I say that as a guy whose earliest surviving memory is a big red truck turning into a big red robot.

@  ZakuConvoy : (28 May 2020 - 03:06 PM)

Might be the end of an era. With the rise of streaming, who knows if Transformers will ever be on broadcast TV again.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 11:46 AM)

3 seasons on a show is usually enough... but yeah ;-;

@  Roddie Luver : (27 May 2020 - 09:37 PM)

I’m also sad Cyberverse has no season four.

@  Paladin : (26 May 2020 - 08:10 PM)

it's too hugging hot today.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

I'll agree with you on that.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

*Figured -_-

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

I fugured

@  Steevy Maximus : (25 May 2020 - 01:37 PM)

I'm actually sad Cyberverse won't get another season. 2 and 3 (of what I've seen) have REALLY nailed it in being fun little actions shows, like the Sunbow series.

@  Rycochet : (25 May 2020 - 01:00 PM)

Yes.

@  Maximus Ambus : (25 May 2020 - 12:52 PM)

I'm waiting for Animated season 4. Am I insane?

@  wonko the sane? : (25 May 2020 - 11:22 AM)

I'm waiting for the next season to show up on netflix.

@  Sabrblade : (25 May 2020 - 10:59 AM)

Many of us have already watched the rest of the Cyberverse episodes since the whole third season aired in the UK last September.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 10:18 AM)

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 10:17 AM)

I just saw the 8th episode... omg

@  Bass X0 : (25 May 2020 - 01:28 AM)

Already seen it online.

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 09:42 PM)

Who's excited for tomorrow? The only thing that makes Monday worth it is the Cyberverse episodes .-.

@  wonko the sane? : (24 May 2020 - 12:30 PM)

Welcome. I just came into that trick myself recently, so happy to share.

@  Nevermore : (24 May 2020 - 12:05 PM)

Thanks, wonko the sane? for the tip with the cloning. That helped a lot!

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 12:02 PM)

Heheh.... yes... I don't think a sniper would be very good at making a vaccine... 0.0

@  Nevermore : (24 May 2020 - 11:48 AM)

All right! Cloning my old HHD to an SSD and then swapping out the drive was successful, it would appear. Finally.

@  Bass X0 : (24 May 2020 - 11:30 AM)

Scientist Perceptor is. Sniper Perceptor less so.

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 10:51 AM)

Perceptor would be more responsible.

'Horrible consequences' would most likely happen with Brainstorm...

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 08:16 AM)

Totally. And Percy's not even human. XD

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 May 2020 - 06:50 AM)

Can't do much worse than our current government, I say go for it.

@  Sabrblade : (23 May 2020 - 10:13 PM)

Little do we realize that the Perceptor in question is the Mini-Con combiner. :p

@  -LittleAutob... : (23 May 2020 - 10:11 PM)

He would!!!

@  -LittleAutob... : (23 May 2020 - 10:11 PM)

Horrible consequences? I... Doubt that would happen.

@  wonko the sane? : (23 May 2020 - 09:55 PM)

Even if he would come up with the answer by tomorrow.

@  wonko the sane? : (23 May 2020 - 09:54 PM)

I'd rather not deal with the horrible but unintended consequences of that.

@  -LittleAutob... : (23 May 2020 - 09:52 PM)

Lets let Perceptor make a vaccine for COVID-19. Who agrees with me :)

Built the BlockZord, it's reasonably solid.  The shoulders are (shockingly) too low, but that's an easy swap.  The pelvis sticks out way too much, but part of it is a stack of two 2x2 clear flats, which I just moved to the back so that they'd be a flight base for the torso jet.

So I unexpectedly came across the Mega Construx Onix set at Gamestop today, where it's apparently exclusive.

$60 gets you an Onix, Porygon, and Staryu.

...oh, and another Pikachu, Meowth, and Ekans.

Pikachu, I get - as much as I really don't need another Pikachu, he's the Batman/Spider-man/Wolverine flagship character of the franchise so yeah, it's just the price of doing business.

But another Meowth and Ekans?  We just got those!  In a wave that saturated the shelves forever, even.

Seriously, couldn't we have gotten one or two of the buttload of missing original 151 Pokemon left to make?

I bought it anyway, mostly in part because I really want the Onix, but also because I have never seen Lapras on the shelf again since I found/bought it, and I didn't want to risk having to chase it down on the secondary market later.  Stoopid exclusives.

Goddammit, the Lego Ideas Stitch set got rejected.

It sucks because it was the only one in that batch that interested me.  Couldn't care less about The Flintstones and the Treehouse.

...and my Onix set came missing an entire bag (#11) and instead came with 2 x Bag #10.

Wtf?

Luckily, 10/11 are used to make the bit of environment so I can patiently wait for Mega to send me a replacement.

But holy carp, how do you miss an entire bag?

Considering what conditions are like at even the best of factories, it's entirely plausible that someone grabbed two of the same bag by mistake and someone in quality control only counted the number of bags instead of ensuring that you had one of each.

Had a catalog from Lego arrive today, shows a lot of kits that are about including hard to find ones, two items in it got my interst, one is Darth Vader's castle while the other is a ningo vehicle that I think would fit well with my Nexo Knights stuff, well the early stuff for the bad guys

Ermahgerd, Mattel/Mega are out of their minds.

They asked me to send them a list of all of the Onix pieces that I am missing.

Umm, there are ~110 pieces covered by Bags 10/11, so if you think that I'm going to go through the instructions, compile a list of missing pieces/quantities, cross-walk them through the inventory index, and shit you a list of part numbers/quantities, you're hugging nuts.

Last time I checked, Mattel isn't cutting me a bi-weekly pay cheque on Fridays.

I've requested that they come up with an alternative solution because holy hug, I'm not doing that.

You shouldn't be surprised when you get screwed by a knockoff brand.  Sorry, but I'm fiercely loyal to Lego, and it irritates me how companies get away with openly ripping them off.

I wouldn't consider Mega a knockoff brand anymore. Their product quality has gone way up in the past couple of decades, ever since they've been getting that sweet licencing money. And they use their own molds, with a brand identity that's not just "LEGO but cheaper". They very respectably have made themselves into the company that will handle the violent game licenses that LEGO won't touch. LEGO's patent expired years ago, so it's perfectly legal to make a brick that's compatible with their system. Making knockoffs of LEGO's actual brick molds like dozens of Chinese companies do, however, is deplorable and is something that LEGO can and does take action on should these products be sold outside China.

Lego is trying to stay true to its founders beliefs, which is why you will not see actual modern day soldiers in their products, they get around that with sci-if ones or historical ones! Megablocks, I don't touch the stuff as such, I barely look at it, lego is what I've grown up with and is a brand I trust!

I mean I love LEGO, but getting offended by competing product on behalf of a toy corporation is just embarassing. Even moreso knowing that LEGO is a 'knockoff brand' itself. =P

Nope, I'm calling bullshit on that.. The idea of interlocking bricks, even of a specific size and dimension may not be unique to Lego, but they have taken that basic concept and expanded on it to thousands of individual elements. Look at other knockoff brands and you see the same exact elements--you can't tell me those were all developed independently. Lego comes out with new designs all the time to fill a necessity in their sets, and behold a short time later that exact same element design will appear in a competitor's set. That's horseshit.

What would you say then, about the short-lived Ionix system for Tenkai Knights? There are many elements in that, such as the 2x1 plate with studs on both sides, that are nothing like anything LEGO produces. Also, shortly after Tenkai Knights comes out, LEGO produces the NEXO Knights line which is visually and thematically very similar and then Tenkai Knights is cancelled. Is this a coincidence? Or is it only a bad thing if other companies do it, but when LEGO does it it's fine?

I mean, LEGO develops it's own fancy bricks, but so does Mega Construx and so did Kre-O. Mega Construx has dozens of unique elements that LEGO hasn't created as well as it's own developed design style and aesthetic. Kre-O too, even with its shorter life span not allowing for as extensive a parts library had it's fair share of unique elements and design style, including an honestly superior minifig design only tempered by part quality. Tenkai Knights was almost entirely unique parts with their own style. So that avenue doesn't really work either.

That's not even getting into, once again, this absurd idea of defending LEGO's honor from competing products. It's okay, LEGO can take it, they're literally the number 1 toy company. X ]
