I must admit I was a bit surprised Zartan never got a Shadow Ninjas release.
Also, I don't care about multiple ninja organizations working with Cobra. The one ninja thing that bugged me was Firefly suddenly being a ninja after never having shown aspects of being a ninja before. Even moreso when he revealed he was the Faceless Master even though all hints pointed to ZARTAN being said Faceless Master. Eesh.
As for Scarlett suddenly being a ninja, it's funny because in a comic where everyone was a ninja... Scarlett's first Ninja Force tale was all about how she was mad that she was nothing more than an "honorary ninja" to the rest of the guys. All the while sporting her new Ninja Force costume.
But honestly, her becoming a ninja makes sense. She was already proficient in martial arts and dating a ninja, so why wouldn't she take up ninja training from him and his BFF as a result?

The FSS will go live today. You can check the club site later for the url. Thanks for your patience while we got this finished. The system is very simple from the user perspective. The complicated part is the part you don't see as we have to be able to installment bill, change shipping docs, change cc info, etc. The admin side is VERY complicated.
I hope that the information below will answer most of your questions. If you have more, use the link at the club site GIJoeClub.com and we will answer and post them at the FAQ.
Thanks again for your support and patience!

1. You must be a member of the G.I. Joe Collectors? Club to take advantage of the Figure Subscription Service.
2. There is NO reason to rush the site or be in a hurry as this is a build to order system. We will build as many as you order, so we cannot run out. YOU CAN ORDER AS MANY AS YOU WANT, there is no limit.
3. What you do need to be concerned about is the closing date of the subscription service, which ENDS on September 4th at midnight.
4. You can either pay In Full or by Installment. There will be 3 installments. When you subscribe and choose pay by Installment, you will be billed for the first two months? shipments. Then sometime during the second month, you will be billed for the 3rd and 4th months? shipments and sometime during the 4th month you will be billed for the final 2 months? shipments.
5. Your free surprise 13th figure will come with your final shipment during the 6th month.
6. The figures will be shipped in random order. All members receive the same figures each month. The figure pairings will not be preannounced. So if you don?t mind, when you get your shipment each month, PLEASE do not go online and tell what you received. We want each shipment to be a surprise for as many members as possible.
7. The cost is $294 if Paid In Full (plus shipping) or three Installments of $98 (plus shipping). Please note that there is a $3 online processing fee for each billing. We take Visa, Discover or MasterCard. Unfortunately we cannot accept Money Orders or Checks for this offer.
8. If you pick a shipping service that does not include insurance or if you don?t pick the insurance, we do not have any responsibility for replacement of lost or damaged or misdirected orders.
9. If you move or need to change your credit card during the program, you can log into your account and change it there. This will change all of your future FSS billings and shipments. We will also be sending you reminders to check your address and cc before each billing/shipment goes out. We are not responsible for shipments that are lost due to incorrect shipping information on file.
10. We are waiting on the final schedule from China so we don?t know exactly when the first figures will ship. We hope it will be by Christmas. We will announce this as soon as we get the final schedule.
11. Some of the figures (single figures) MAY be available in the Club Store after the subscriber?s figures ship. These will be at a price of $32 per figure. There is no guarantee of availability of any of the figures in the club store. If you want to ensure getting these limited edition figures, you need to subscribe to the service.
For 13 figures that averages at about 23$ a figure. Too bad shipping's tacked on top of that.
But this is the crowner.
They're really serious with this.
I know the Club has this inexplicable hard-on for surprises, but geez. First of all, not a chance in hell that'd ever happen, and second of all, WHY. This subscription service has endured countless delays and on top of that they not only won't reveal the release order but they want people not to share the info.

I wish I could agree but this version is just ill-fitting. The original 25th Night Creeper was built on a 25th Anniversary Snake-Eyes chest, which if you'll compare to later torsos was ridiculously short (offset by the long legs). The chestplate is made to cover the pectorals and stomach, made to fit on that torso. Much like the Cyber-Viper before, using that torso on a longer torso just ends up making it look awkward, which is how it ends up on the Retaliation SE base of that new Night Creeper.
Also, I really don't like that head and the floppy removable head thingie.
I'd have preferred seeing the Ninja Force Night Creeper design instead. Or the Spy Troops one.
I'm not picky about any Night Creeper version. Just so long as he has all the articulation bells and whistles ( I'm liking the Red Ninja we got this year, need more than one though).
Ninja Force Night Creeper, I've mentioned more than enough times. But he's gotta have a soft goods cloak off the back. Like the SW Vintage Gamorrean Guard except not as bushy.
Spy Troops, yes please. I liked that design, not the proportions. Would be terrific if he came with the scuba gear, it was always less Wet-Suit more Wet-Works.
SO long as they are retail or retailer exclusives. I don't want to pay through the nose via the club. Think of the overseas fans.

Umm, yeah. No. Just no. I'm not giving FP my credit card information ever again.

And the price tag on this terrifies me about what the Transformers one might run, but I was in the minority thinking that a subscription thing was a stupid idea in the first place. I'm also kind of confused as to why they won't honor a check or even a money order, which is actual, real money as opposed to credit.

Not really?
Because if that concept case of Hasbro's taught us anything, it's that they're still willing to plan and develop characters used in the FSS. They won't look like Fun Pub's versions, but who knows? Maybe fans will like them better.
And #6 is bizarre and not going to happen, but I can't see what's wrong in asking. They want an air of surprise around these figures to try to make it as exciting as possible for fans. One way of doing that is asking fans not to blab about what's currently shipping... A bit futile, but if even a handful of fans get to have that "Oh wow, it's this guy!" moment, cool.
#8 is a doozy, but I imagine they're a bit concerned that people might take advantage of them there. And just keep saying "I didn't get mine" in order to get free figures. Stuff does get lost in the mail, I know (I need to make sure I'm caught up now on both TCC and GIJCC magazines after not receiving an issue or two at the beginning of the year), but I've heard fans boasting about abusing the honor system before (Remember when Howlback came out and had two of the same missile? So Takara Tomy offered a replacement set? I've overheard fans saying how they claimed they ordered 3 or 4 Howlbacks just so they could get free weapons.)
And the over all price is expensive. But breaking that down to the individual price, that's right around where I was expecting it.

Hm. I am quite tempted.
Yeah, I find myself less and less interested on the whole. Too many sacrifices and dull choices for me. On one hand it's perfect for what it is - a little something extra for club members. But I don't think it's enough to make me join up for starters and then pay the extra money on top. He-man subs have kind of ruined me on the whole "pay a bunch of money for stuff you don't want to get what you do" thing. Even if these were retail releases I probably wouldn't buy all of them. Jinx, Big Boa and Dice are really the only three I'm a little bummed to miss. Quarrel, the BAT and Tan Grunt I'd pick up if I saw them and the rest are ho-hum to boring. My Covergirl custom looks as good as that one (better imo since lets face it - she needs cleavage for comic/toon accuracy

*edit: It's funny that BBTS sold out since the club has stated they'd make as many as people buy. I guess BBTS has to weigh how many Sure Fires and Barrel Rolls they're willing to sit on to have more Jinx/Dice/Big Boas.
*edit 2: Ok, BBTS'd Jinx and Dice. If Big Boa pops back up again I'll probably snag him too and consider it a win on the whole. While I could have potentially sold off the others, I'm paying for the convenience of not needing to.
