So I was a fan in the 80's with Hulk, Macho Man, Jake the Snake, etc. Then just stopped watching. Started watching again in 98 ish with the attitude era and Stone Cold, went to some live shows, had tickets to Survivor Series in St. Louis where Rock won the belt for the first time but a guy lost them so we made him buy the PPV. Was at the RAW in St. Louis the night after Owen Hart passed, sat 6th row on the floor. Then just kinda fell out of it in 2004 ish.
I had the opportunity to watch Royal Rumble. The women's match was horrible. They were short on their marks, you could see them looking backwards to know where they were, it was just super bad. Fatass Brock tossing dudes around and sweating gallons between each person got a little old. Was cool to see Edge come out. But I just didnt get that excitement to it all like I did in the late 90's/early 2000's. So much of it was seeming forced and horrible acting. Worse than what I remember anyway.
Ill still give those guys credit though. I know its a punishment on their bodies to go out and do that night after night and travel around, sleeping in hotels, etc. Cant be an easy life on the road that much, to have a family, to peform at the level they are expected to perform at. I listened to Stone Cold's podcast where he had Hulk on there, that was exciting to listen too. Id love for him to get Mick Foley or The Rock on there and listen to 90 minutes of that conversation.
