@  Benbot : (17 January 2018 - 02:04 PM)

I need a laptop more than a new desktop

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (17 January 2018 - 01:18 PM)

Buying a pre-built computer you should be okay.. It's just the individual parts that jumped huge in price.

@  Paladin : (17 January 2018 - 01:14 PM)

well all the idiots who invested in "bitcoin" will be selling theirs en masse to make ends meet so you might be able to find something cheap if you watch auctions.

@  Benbot : (17 January 2018 - 12:59 PM)

Is now a good time to buy a computer? Or should I wait?

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (17 January 2018 - 12:01 PM)

I pointed out that I'm on disabilty.. I don't have to pretend to be an adult anymore. ;D

@  MEDdMI : (17 January 2018 - 11:25 AM)

Also Bayonetta 3.

@  TheMightyMol... : (17 January 2018 - 10:55 AM)

Nintendo also announced Dark Souls for the Switch, so those people should shut up.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (17 January 2018 - 10:51 AM)

Apparently people are freaking out that Nintendo announced something for kids and kids at heart. And people are absolutely freaking out about it.

@  TheMightyMol... : (17 January 2018 - 10:23 AM)

...what?

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (17 January 2018 - 10:16 AM)

Why is something for kids and "kids at heart" so bad? :(

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (16 January 2018 - 09:05 PM)

I vote kidnap Reggie.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (16 January 2018 - 07:20 PM)

Just post it on the net.. Or maybe kidnapp Reggie and make them do a Nintendo Direct about it. ;)

@  wonko the sane? : (16 January 2018 - 06:50 PM)

Rent a space and do a webcast?

@  TheMightyMol... : (16 January 2018 - 06:22 PM)

They could just do a panel at RI ComicCon or something.

@  abates : (16 January 2018 - 05:51 PM)

I wonder how they'll do the Hall of Fame this year without a convention to hold the award ceremony at.

@  B-Fox : (16 January 2018 - 01:33 PM)

metalhawk

@  Shrug : (16 January 2018 - 01:21 PM)

I love RotF Mixmaster, if that means anything.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (16 January 2018 - 12:42 PM)

Ehh.. when they get to complicated.. it gets annoying. PotP Optimus is decent. Rodimus pushes it just a little.

@  Locoman : (16 January 2018 - 12:32 PM)

Part of the appeal of Transformers for me has always been the mechanical puzzle angle, so I really enjoyed the ROTF/TF2010 line when that angle hit its zenith.

@  Locoman : (16 January 2018 - 12:31 PM)

I'm probably one of the few people who really enjoys complicated, fiddly transformations.

@  Steevy Maximus : (16 January 2018 - 12:14 PM)

Some were decent, but many suffered from that "collector mentality" where it just LOOKED good in both modes...but the engineering was complex merely for the sake of it.

@  Shrug : (16 January 2018 - 10:30 AM)

Huh. That's dissapointing. I had completely missed the Alternators and had just always assumed they were good based on how they looked in photos.

@  Pennpenn : (16 January 2018 - 03:34 AM)

I liked the Alternator Tracks mold. I think everyone agrees the Grimjack mold was just kinda shit even if you didn't care about it being Grimlock as a car.

@  Steevy Maximus : (15 January 2018 - 09:16 PM)

My local dept. store Shopko always seemed to get a few late run gems, like Blast Attack Optimus Primal and hard to find collection 2 Revenge of the Sith toys.

@  Steevy Maximus : (15 January 2018 - 09:15 PM)

Still wish I had snagged that extra Swerve I saw on clearance at Shopko, though

@  RichardT1977 : (15 January 2018 - 08:50 PM)

Smokescreen was the only Alternator I ever got.

@  Telly : (15 January 2018 - 07:24 PM)

i sold all my alternators last year

@  TheMightyMol... : (15 January 2018 - 05:27 PM)

Hound isn't bad, and, uh........

@  Paladin : (15 January 2018 - 05:23 PM)

there's only like 3 Alternator molds at most that still hold up...

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (15 January 2018 - 01:09 PM)

There were no shelfwarmer Altenators where I lived.. Cause no one ever got them in. x.x;

@  Bass X0 : (15 January 2018 - 12:57 PM)

I have Alternators Nemesis Prime since he was a shelf warmer here.

@  unluckiness : (15 January 2018 - 10:07 AM)

You wouldn't want to anyway

@  Chromedome113 : (15 January 2018 - 07:21 AM)

My first Prime was Alternators Optimus, I still can't transform him

@  Shrug : (14 January 2018 - 06:42 PM)

Ah. I'll try to remember that, but I keep forgetting "Gobots" the Autobot even existed.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (14 January 2018 - 05:02 PM)

"Gobots" is the G2 Autobot Color Changer.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (14 January 2018 - 05:01 PM)

@Shrug That would be "Go-Bots".

@  TheMightyMol... : (14 January 2018 - 03:16 AM)

At least you still had a big beefy super robot with giant guns.

@  JasperGunner... : (14 January 2018 - 01:47 AM)

My first Prime was Cybertron Prime. I was too stupid to know how to transform him lol

@  Shrug : (13 January 2018 - 11:15 PM)

My first Prime was Transmetal Primal. Second was RID Prime. My first Megatron was actually Gobots Megatron. I just didn't know he was Megatron for like 15 years. I often used him as "Roller" for RID Prime and I assume he's never really forgiven me.

@  Telly : (13 January 2018 - 10:39 PM)

my first prime was g1 prime actually in 1984. saw him at a store and begged my grandparents to give me my christmas money early lol

@  unitremover : (13 January 2018 - 10:33 PM)

Mine was Beast Machines deluxe Primal but I don't think I knew he what he was at the time.

@  Dekafox : (13 January 2018 - 09:32 PM)

My first Prime was actually LioConvoy... followed by Fire Convoy

@  Shrug : (13 January 2018 - 11:57 AM)

@Telly, but G1 Rodimus's vehicle mode is so durn sexy

@  LBD "Nyt... : (13 January 2018 - 04:30 AM)

PMOP was my second, and my first Optimus.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (13 January 2018 - 04:29 AM)

My first Prime was Power Master Prime.. And though Titans Return had Power Master Prime.. Power of the Primes feels more like Power Master Prime to me.

@  LBD "Nyt... : (13 January 2018 - 04:17 AM)

Still wanted Hot Rod too, though.

@  LBD "Nyt... : (13 January 2018 - 04:17 AM)

I had Rodimus Prime as a kid, he was the first Prime I owned, and I loved 'im.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (13 January 2018 - 12:27 AM)

At least he doesn't feel like he's about to fall apart in my hands like Masterpiece did.

@  Otaku : (12 January 2018 - 11:50 PM)

As a kid, I remember being confused that Rodimus Prime and Hot Rod had separate action figures. I thought there should be one that you could change between the "two".

@  Telly : (12 January 2018 - 10:59 PM)

'86 rodimus prime was a joke, even by '86 standards. it BARELY qualified as a transformer and his face was terrible

The Sun reported today that a new series of Red Dwarf is being planned for release next year on Dave (a British digital TV channel)

Red Dwarf returns

I'm very much looking forward to this. I liked the three part special they made in 2009 (which I understand was very much hit and miss with a lot of fans) so hopefully this new series will be good too.

Smeg yes!

Though the article doesn't say it, judging from the comments section Kryten might be back too. I hope so, since I enjoy the intereactions between him and Rimmer soooooooo much icon-ironhide.gif
With many thanks to Alex Milne for the new Dragnet Avatar!

Fantastic news! I wonder if they're going to tell the stories in between Season VIII and Back to Earth or if they're going to pick up where Back to Earth left off.

Actually, knowing Red Dwarf, they'll probably jump forward again and have more missing time. icon-fire.gif

While I want to see what happens in seasons nine and ten (which they mention in back to earth.) and I want to see what the new, self confident, proactive lister is capable of (from the end of back to earth.) I... wonder... what missing time? I mean, sure, it been years since they did season eps, and they jumped a lot for back to earth, but they were trapped on a ship in deep space, a ship running entirely on automatic. There was nothing TO do. You want an idea of what happened, I think we should just record a welfare apartment building and splice in a star background in the windows.

Actually: I want them to pick up where they left off of season 8. I know not a lot of people liked it as a whole but the end was pretty epic. Lister, Kat, Kryten and Kachanski escaped into the mirror universe, Rimmer literally facing death on a dissolving red dwarf and the rest of the ship's complement escaping on anything that holds air... I want to see them connect that to back to earth.

I thought Back to Earth was great. I was worried going in, based on what I had heard. It was pretty classic Red Dwarf though, well character wise. The ending was great. I read something, that said if they were doing another series after Back to Earth they would like to do it afterwords with them trying to find Kochansky.
I finally got rid of that big white box.

Dear gods no.

Just let it die already. Back to Earth had maybe one good gag, looking lost and alone. The later seasons were crap. And on rewatching, maybe it's because I've seen some of them too many times, but it's just not that great.

New series, 6 episodes, showing on Dave in 2012 (good bet is approx April). Confirmed cast are Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn. Filming starts November 2011, maybe in front of an audience, maybe not. Likely going to be 30 minute eps in Dave's 40 minute slots (with ads).
Here's hoping it's a corker - I felt let down by Back To Earth, mainly because without a laugh track the show was really... quiet.

Fully agree on it feeling quiet. Overall, I liked Back to Earth in and of itself, but it didn't feel much like dwarf due to part two was just WAY too self aware and smug (which is saying a lot) and left me liking it a lot less after the otherwise great part 1. Part 3 was soso, but not bad.

I just hope we get Kristine back, and we can get Dwayne and Polymorph for fun too icon-fire.gif

Oh god no.. Not another Dave produced Dwarf series. Back to Earth was like a painfully unfunny work of fanfiction put onscreen using actors who didn't seem like they wanted to be there. I don't recall laughing at any point through it and the constant plugs for Dave were excruciating.

Speaking as a long-time wargamer (With a bunch of Spess Mehreens on my desk in dire need of being painted), I found the quick dig at wargamers in the comic shop funny.

That was it.

I suggested the same thing last night and damn near lost my life for it. There is a dislike of Hattie Hayridge in some of the die hard fans. I mean, understandable since the dynamics works better when its literally an all male crew, besides: norman Lovett's head is basically pure sex.
