Aw I scratched the hood of my 35th anniversary Bluestreak. Fortunately he's in robot mode a lot.

@  Sabrblade : (25 September 2020 - 07:24 PM)

No decoration could improve the wall more than Knockout himself

@  TheMightyMol... : (25 September 2020 - 05:04 PM)

The wall could use some decorating, though. Maybe a nice shelf or a portrait.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 September 2020 - 04:32 PM)

I'm laughing so hard XDDD

@  Spiritofeigh... : (20 September 2020 - 04:38 PM)

Hey, new to the boards

@  RichardT1977 : (20 September 2020 - 02:29 PM)

I had an idea for a Spiral Zone/Go-Busters crossover fanfic...

@  wonko the sane? : (19 September 2020 - 06:35 PM)

I loved what was there, and think it's pretty ripe for "renegades" style reboot.

@  Rycochet : (19 September 2020 - 03:13 PM)

It's a shame as I loved Spiral Zone, and the design from the Japanese Toyline of the same name are fantastic, I adore the monowheel motorbike.

@  Rycochet : (19 September 2020 - 03:12 PM)

Hasbro doesn't seem to have any interest in doing anything with the TV show, haven't greenlit any attempt to rerelease it, and there have been approaches, so I think it may be aother one of Tonka's legal carcrashes where everyone involved owns a piece and it's not really worth anyone sticking their neck out to claim ownership.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 01:47 PM)

I feel that homages and references would be a fun way to expand the GI Joe brand, and give a little love to lines that are unlikely to be acknowledged beyond such capacity.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 01:47 PM)

I was under the impression that Bandai was more the character design aspects, not story or characters.

@  Rycochet : (19 September 2020 - 12:55 PM)

Also isn't it in rights limbo, given how it's loosely based on concepts from a BanDai series much like GoBots?

@  Rycochet : (19 September 2020 - 12:52 PM)

We don't need a Spiral Zone reboot, in a decade or so we'll be living it.

@  wonko the sane? : (19 September 2020 - 12:49 PM)

Yeah, but it would fundamentally change the base premise of both gijoe and spiral zone. It's either not the world spanning threat it was, or the zone riders are backed up by a competent force. Either way, you compromise the context of both.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 12:19 PM)

Akin to what was done with Matt Tracker in 2008.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 12:18 PM)

Again, not a PURE transplant, but an integration of ideas and concepts into the world of GI Joe.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 12:18 PM)

@Wonko The Cobra Overlord, with help from Dr. Mindbender and Cesspool, develops machines capable of generating a mind-controlling fog. GI Joe stalwarts Flint, Airtight, Lifeline, and Psyche-Out are joined by Colonal Courage to infiltrate these zones and disable the machines. Figures would sport hostile environment suits (Eco warriors cross with Spiral Zone) and make new versions of the mono-wheel vehicles.

@  Maximus Ambus : (19 September 2020 - 09:39 AM)

Hasbroverse.2 with bought properties: Bravestarr, Ulysses 31, Galaxy Rangers, Shadow Raiders, Manta Force, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Mighty Orbots, Jem and Bigfoot and the Muscle Machines. Seamless.

@  wonko the sane? : (19 September 2020 - 08:32 AM)

While acknoledging spiral zone would be pretty boss, I doubt they could actively integrate it into anything else: given the scale of the villains deeds.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 08:03 AM)

COPS, Spiral Zone, Shadow Strikers, Action Man, Centurions, MegaForce. They wouldn’t replicate the old lines, but simply acknowledging their existence would be nifty.

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 September 2020 - 08:01 AM)

I would love to see GI Joe become something of a “celebration of action figures”. Hasbro has SO MANY old action figure properties, and many could slot into the GI Joe umbrella with relative ease.

@  Otaku : (19 September 2020 - 12:04 AM)

G.I. Joe, CyberCOPS, and M.A.S.K. all seem like something that would work from Animated or Prime, though CyberCOPS might have been a bit trickier from Prime.

@  Sabrblade : (18 September 2020 - 11:02 PM)

Rik Alvarez originally wanted the last episode of Prime to spinoff into a new MASK reboot.

@  Otaku : (18 September 2020 - 08:19 PM)

The failed Hasbroverse reminds me how so many things could have been spun off from Transformers: Animated and (after that) Transformers: Prime.

@  ▲ndrusi : (18 September 2020 - 12:43 PM)

Requiem of the Wreckers was post-Revolution, but it was also, you know, a single issue.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (18 September 2020 - 11:06 AM)

But Roche didn't have a series to keep out from the crossovers since Sins of the Wreckers was before Revolution.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (18 September 2020 - 11:01 AM)

Oh wait, that post said Roche, not Barber.

@  Rycochet : (18 September 2020 - 10:46 AM)

And then seemed surprised nobody particlarly wanted it.

QUOTE(Masabon)
Hello from Japan. I introduce the space of HYPERHOBBY as the last topic in the year. There is not the new information for the introduction of the toy. However, prototype of RODIMUS PRIME 25 years ago is introduced this time.

QUOTE(Masabon)
A talk of "HIRONORI KOBAYASHI" and "TAKASHI KUNIHIRO" which are the TOMY staff to a magazine is carried.

> "HIRONORI KOBAYASHI"
1999 TAKARA entering a company
He deals with a design of the MP series now.

>TAKASHI KUNIHIRO
1984 TAKARA entering a company
G1 "RODIMUS CONVOY" "HOT RODIMUS"
"OPTIMUS PRIME 2009Revenge Ver."
He designed the above

It is what it understood from two behaviors.

The prototype of RODIMUS was the thing which was bigger than the article which TAKARA sold.RODIMUS was designed as a high-priced article at first.
However, size became small for appreciation of the yen of 1980's and a size reduction request from HASBRO.The reason is because it matched the reason with a few moving parts of RODIMUS with the problem of the appreciation of the yen and an American strength standard. There seem to have been damage report many of the toy of early TRANSFORMERS in those days.
The staff of TAKARA seems to have designed RODIMUS firmly.
The hip joint of RODIMUS became firm, and it seems to have followed that the joint of the knee omitted it.What I may show by events is mentioned in these prototype in future.

Finally I introduce words of Mr.KOBAYASHI.
「ハスブロのスタッフも言ってました。『ホットロディマスは好きだがロディマスコンボイは
嫌いだ』だって」
The staff of HASBRO said, too. "I like HOT RODIMUS(HOTROD), but dislike RODIMUS CONVOY(RODIMUS PRIME)"

If a meaning is wrong because I translate it with a PC, I'm sorry.

It's interesting to see the earliest mockup, as he would have had bending elbows and the tires on the back side of his arms like in the animation.

An amazing find! Definitely some features of the prototype Rodimus Prime I wish they had used for the real figure, such as bloody ELBOWS, and I think I like the comm tower base better than the gun platform of the final toy. Larger, more articulation, could've been a great toy! Maybe they didn't want to make him too large or expensive

That is awesome. I will be doing that once I get United Jazz (and United Lugnut if I don't already have RtS Lugnut).

Looks like the Prototype might have been about even in height to Galvatron.

I'm sure he will be. Which will be nicer than the 3 shades of blue the Hasbro one uses.

I didn't realize Hasbro Did that, I guess I haven't paid enough attention to the pics of him floating around.

I think it's because you have the painted window area, the front of the car, and then the rear area is slightly different? I forget. It's at least two because of the discrepancy between the painted roof and the rest of the car. Takara seems to be better at matching, take Universe Sideswipe and Henkei Lambor for example. Both use the same red plastic color but the Henkei figure's roof matches the color of the car a lot more.

With United Tracks it'll probably not be an issue at all as he's likely all painted the same blue throughout his car mode.

Because it's not remotely noticeable. Hell, this is the first I've heard of it, and I have the toy sitting right next to me.

For what it's worth those words came second hand from someone else. From time to time it's a problem with any figure that has plastic molded in color with clear plastic painted over in a color meant to replicate the same color, and it also occurs when a different kind of plastic has to be used (like the two tones on every version of the Universe Cyclonus mold's legs).

So Super Sentai really is doing a Pirate theme...why do I like that?

That G1 Rodimus Prime prototype is pretty cool. Shame it didn't keep the elbows. Glad they didn't stick with the computer trailer though.

The Pirate theme looks pretty awesome, Some of the best looking suits in a long time. Its also an Anniversry series and will be like Kamen Rider Decade with them using powers and zords from previous series.

The United figure is probably going to have a mixture of metallic blue and non-metallic blue. The vehicle mode may be all metallic, but non-metallic parts will be exposed in robot mode. That appears to be the case on other figures from what I can tell from pictures.

Depends on the figure, as most of Bumblebee, Optimus, and Cliffjumper are completely metallic. The only ones that it's really noticeable on is Soundwave and Earth Optimus. Though the others may have some areas (like WFC BB's gun) it does still cover most of the areas it needs to.

It's pretty obvious on Bumblebee and Bumblebee. WFC Cliffjumper too, presumably, though it's hard to tell from photos. Soundwave even has non-metallic parts visible in his vehicle mode which looks pretty bad. Of course, the rules of photography are at play here, as well -- some of these may not look as bad in person. Though I can't imagine that Bumblebee's gold and yellow blend at all.

Yeah it seems they're just looking to cover those parts that are visible in vehicle mode which is a pity. As going all out and doing the rest of the yellow on both BBs would have been really nice.

I love seeing stuff like that Rodimus, oh what could have been. Trailer looks a bit cack though. So the toys got blockier as a result of them being easy to break? Makes sense, most of the toys I broke were diaclone type toys.
