Tucker has to have his threads approved before they'll post now? That's hilarious.

@  Kayla Kaon : (18 March 2019 - 01:19 PM)

Tucker, it is the same thread that you already posted. I am not approving that. As we have discussed you need to submit different content.

We will look at it Tucker.

Even in the general population there are those who share his views. Probably a significant crossover with the ones who blame Muslims for what happened.

I have to admit I prefer the decos of some of them, such as Tracks and Wreck-Gar, though I'll get the domestic ones due to cost consideration.

Yep, definitely have to get Jazz, Tracks, and Perceptor now, I especially love the G1 hood decal on Tracks, and the white on Perceptor's vehicle mode. Undecided on some of the others, and I think some are still placeholder images.

Gah. Does anyone have any suggestions for other stores that offer the same prices as AmiAmi? They're pretty much sold out of everything right now, and other Japan based shops like HLJ and RobotKingdom are charging about 4-9 dollars per figure more.

Scourge, G2 Prime, and Wheeljack are still place holder images.

Kup & Jazz are very similar to the Hasbro ones (based on these images). Kup has silver rims, and Jazz has silver rims and an Autobot symbol.

Wreck-Gar is extremely different (I like both a lot) and Perceptor (in my opinion) makes the Hasbro one look horrible.

Here are some comparison shots I put together.

Also MP Rodimus' transformation is awesome, his matrix looks great, I love the way the hands work, and I'm impressed that the canopy in Rodimus Prime mode (in addition to the already know Hot Rod mode) opens.

AmiAmi is pretty unusual in the degree of discount they apply to brand new goods. Probably gonna either have to wait and see if they restock on what you want, or cough up the more typical going rate and use one of the other stores.

I've never been keen on Hasbro's Perceptor, but seeing what he could have been? Damn!

Ah crap, I think I want that Tracks. The Hasbro version's chest is just so plain, and the United version's Autobot symbol spruces it up a bit.

I do think Hasbro's Perceptor looks way better than Takara's. The orange chest window adds a lot.

Do the guys from that Heroes size chart have names?

Does Tracks look like he's got a chrome blue, or something else going on? His blue, just doesn't look like its necessarily plastic.

Or am I just imagining things?

Very cool stuff. I like finally having some good shots of Hot Rod's car mode. How he compares with the initial line art is pretty interesting too. The car has the same general shape, but the proportions had to give, unfortunately.

I'll say right out of the gate that I haven't really been paying much attention to the Japanese developments as of late, but... all those 2011 United toy images... the characters are labeled with the HASBRO names, not the Japanese. Not "Convoy", not "Cha", not "Meister"... "Optimus Prime", "Kup" and Jazz. Not only that, but it's "AUTOBOT Tracks" (Instead of "Turbo Tracks"), "AUTOBOT Kup", and "DECEPTICON Scourge".

I knew they were using the Hasbro names for move and Animated... but ditching the Japanese names for G1 toys? An interesting development, there. It COMPLETELY makes sense too, since the movie and Animated have done gangbusters, and giving these NOT-movie-or-Animated toys every little boost they can get would help.

Gangbusters or no, the movie toys being sold in English packaging for the last three years has understandably had an effect on other Transformers toy-lines.

I don't really understand the US copyright friendly names though: it's not like Japan needs to stick 'Autobot' in front of certain names. (They did the same thing with Animated Sentinel Prime, who's labeled 'Autobot Sentinel'.)

Rhinox and Rodimus from Transformers Heroes; an early "Animated" concept before Hasbro brought Derrick Wyatt on board.

The one under "Proportion" is Heroes Optimus Prime.

Actually, they seemingly do, which is why Henkei ended up with "Destron Octane," as I recall.

I'll admit that Tracks does look a lot better with the old flame deco, and Perceptor's detailing is quite nice too. I don't think though, that the changes are drastic enough to warrant me paying the import price. If I had a lot of disposable income I might consider it, but for now the Hasbro versions will have to do. Interesting to look at the differences though.
