x-x when in vehicle mode we can travel much F A R T H E R-

@  wonko the sane? : (30 June 2020 - 05:52 PM)

Because despite the fact that we can travel around the world in the time it takes to get a good nights sleep and a couple of meals: people rarely wander more than 25 miles away from home for the duration of their lives.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 05:49 PM)

I don't know how many days that trip takes - especially while sightseeing - but explaining they're 3936 kilometers (2445 miles) apart gives an idea, paradoxically because it is too large to easily picture.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 05:44 PM)

Aye.  When I catch lay people discussing miles and not how long the trip takes, it is in an attempt to stress how far away something is... like NYC to LA.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:20 PM)

But I can imagine 45 *minutes* easily.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:20 PM)

I can imagine a mile, it's a distance I've run. I can't really imagine 45 miles.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:19 PM)

I think there's also an element of the thing where things that are much bigger than us all blur together.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:49 AM)

If you're not, then you're more concerned with how long it takes.  Actual distance doesn't tell you that very well.  Besides traffic and road conditions, you'll need to know what kind of driving (city/interstate/rural/etc.).

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:47 AM)

Distance matters if you're being paid by the mile.

@  TM2-Megatron : (30 June 2020 - 11:44 AM)

Canadians are the same way, for the most part. If you're driving somewhere far, especially, it helps you plan out the day more than a distance in KM would.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:42 AM)

We use the time it takes to get someplace because that is what is relevant to us.

@  TheMightyMol... : (30 June 2020 - 10:55 AM)

Because even we can't figure out miles half the time.

@  Paladin : (30 June 2020 - 09:54 AM)

it's a big country with a lot of empty space. between our citizens' ears.

@  Bass X0 : (30 June 2020 - 09:52 AM)

Why do most Americans measure distance by hours of driving?

@  TM2-Megatron : (29 June 2020 - 07:26 PM)

And as a result the world's lone blu-ray release of the film, an Australian disc that came out 7 years ago, now goes for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Thanks Disney.

Well, they censored Daryl Hannah's butt in Splash :rolleyes

@  Paladin : (29 June 2020 - 05:43 PM)

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 June 2020 - 05:00 PM)

X-Men films are coming to Disney+ next month. But will they censor Hugh Jackman's butt?

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 June 2020 - 12:44 PM)

@  Cybersnark : (29 June 2020 - 09:47 AM)

I don't want to be reissued. This body sucks, I wanna be updated.

@  Nevermore : (29 June 2020 - 09:43 AM)

I definitely don't intend to be reissued. Nobody would buy me.

@  Bass X0 : (29 June 2020 - 08:31 AM)

will anybody else attempt to be reissued?

@  wonko the sane? : (29 June 2020 - 07:51 AM)

*Gasp* Decepticons re-writing history to serve their own needs?!?!

@  Nevermore : (29 June 2020 - 05:48 AM)

The whole point of the DJD is that they're fanatical Megatron fanboys (especially Tarn) to the point of having their own headcanon taking priority of the actual canon, simply speaking.

@  TheMightyMol... : (29 June 2020 - 04:01 AM)

They didn't know the war was over until later. And then they denied it anyway.

So did the Physical Switch port of Zero/ZX collection get held up in customs or something? Amazon canceled my preorder citing a problem preventing them processing the order and it's not able to buy it again? It wasn't a payment problem so I wonder if the cartridges went through a caronavirus area or such.

I got my copy from Amazon yesterday with no issues, so I am not sure what is going on with your order.

Sadly have not had the chance to play it yet, still busy with Link's Awakening.

All this talk got me curious, so I did a search of all the regular Canadian e-tailors and other than EB-Games that still seems to have copies of the X-Box version online they seem to be sold out everywhere.

I wonder what's going on?

So I've been working my way through the X series in preperation for the zero zx collection because I heard the games they are all referenced in the world building.

So I finished x6 last night, which was an ordeal in itself but when I booted x7 I found it to be a little... "not fun"

So I guess my question is how vital are x7 and 8 to the zero zx lore?

Not super vital.  The Zero and ZX games don't really go in depth on past events, so you've mostly got the gist of things by now.  The games will explain history as needed, and a lot of it concerns stuff that happened between the two series.

Being at least a little familiar with Axl is useful, but you can skip X7 and go straight to X8, which is the better game.

Truthfully it kinda splinters from the timeline after X6 and the only reason to come back to X7&8 would be to see Axl as Biometal A's inspiration

X7 is pretty much hot garbage. There are one or two 2.5D levels, and those are basically the only good parts.

X8 has very minor issues, and is pretty enjoyable. Honestly the only minor issues being it has two Jet Bike levels that I just don't think are very fun.

Yeah. I gave up on x7 after I kept dying in the jungle level and it kept sending me back the the same check point over and over until I realized all I was doing was mashing the shoot button over and over. It had gotten do tedious that I actually became nostalgic for x6, sure it was frustrating but at least it wasnt a glorified shooter on rails.

Popped in zero1 and... Where has this gem been all my life!?

I'm kicking myself for having skipped it back in my gba days. I remember seeing it in stores and thinking "zero, huh? That's not the REAL Mega man" and never gave it much more thought than that.

I'll probably go back and try to go through x7 at slow intervals as I am somewhat of a completionist and a glutton for punishment.
I'm tempted to turn on rookie hunter mode and breese through but then thought... "no... you'd have to play it a second time to get the hunter medals " and immediately discarded the notion.

Lore-wise, wasn't the original plan for Mega Man Zero to take place after Mega Man X5?  Then Capcom wanted to keep the X-series going, so things got... weird. >.>

After 5 or 6, yeah.  The series was building towards a conclusion, and X7 kind of had to come up with something after it didn't conclude.

At least Command Mission was fun, so not all bad.

Yeah, I missed out on Command Mission, X7, and X8. Well, may have dodged a bullet on X7, but I picked up a guide for the other two. I like reading them, even for games I don't own. The X8 one was on clearance; I think CM's came with a promo for Decipher's Mega Man TCG.

Anyway, flawed though they might be, I am pretty sure I would enjoy X8 and Command Mission. I mean, I even enjoyed that Battle Network spinoff for the GCN, once I realized how it was meant to be played (and how to cheat the system). XP Oh, but that has nothing to do with the story divide. Not that I know the Zero games or ZX series, first hand, either. Missed out on those as well.

Yeah, MMZ was intended to follow on from the ending of MMX5. IIRC, while Inafune was working on MMZ, Capcom decided they didn't want the X series to end and had another team make X6. Hence why X6 and MMZ both have Zero essentially coming back from the dead. And why X6 feels a bit half baked.

I own X7. I’ve beaten X7. But only once. I can’t bring myself to play through it again. I just keep it for completionist’s sake. Love X8 though. That game is a ton of fun.

I have a few as well. I would have had a lot more interest if they'd done more of X's armors from the games. And if they would have sprung for a few more paint apps to replace those stickers.

Those are actually the figures where I proved I have no proficiency for painting.  :doh
