I think I'd still prefer watching Golf to Nascar.

It's not TM2-Megatron's fault. The topic was bumped by a spambot, whose response was deleted... but TM2 had already replied. Seemed mean to delete his response just so the topic would disappear again.

I'm a fan of this idea. While a lot of the "old way of doing things" still persists, especially at the networks, I think we're going to see less of this as time goes on. It used to be that sports were the biggest draw a network could get on, say, a Saturday afternoon. But now, with all the boutique and niche channels out there, people who want to watch sports can watch them anytime on whatever station, but more importantly anyone who *doesn't* want to watch sports can watch whatever they want on whatever station.
The days of the captive audiences watching golf or Notre Dame football just because "it's what's on right now" are gone or ending soon, I think. Slots that sports have historically taken up and still do will only do so if sports are still the biggest possible audience-getter at that time. Which, if it is, is fair enough. But if not, I think we're going to be seeing greater numbers of the more mainstream channels dropping sports.
That's just my own guessing though. I still don't like golf.
ALERT: Everything is fine.
