@  Waspinator : (25 April 2017 - 08:46 PM)

There are some more immediate doomsday scenarios on a more local level, like the sun expanding and consuming us all.

@  Evac : (25 April 2017 - 08:25 PM)

In a few trillion years, there's going to be a Big Rip, a heat death, a Big Crunch or a Big Bounce, so- wait, you're talking about Stargate.

@  Xellos : (25 April 2017 - 08:20 PM)

I just wish Universe had a conclusive ending...

@  wonko the sane? : (25 April 2017 - 07:53 PM)

They had to try something new, and it didn't work.

@  Echowarrior : (25 April 2017 - 07:31 PM)

SG-1 was a good series. Atlantis too. Universe...dear god was that ever a misfire.

@  Xellos : (25 April 2017 - 02:56 PM)

Started watching SG-1 right before season 9. The Stargate were the last live action series that could hold my attention week to week.

@  Rycochet : (25 April 2017 - 02:52 PM)

Sg1 really lost it's appeal once they got too far into the ancients/ascended plotlines.

@  Gizmoboy : (25 April 2017 - 02:48 PM)

I enjoyed the movie. Never got into the TV Series.

@  BlackMax : (25 April 2017 - 02:19 PM)

About twenty since I cared. :D :D :D

@  Whirl Maximus : (25 April 2017 - 01:50 PM)

ten years since Stargate SG1 ended.

@  WorkbenchManiac : (25 April 2017 - 11:05 AM)

it's all about that sweet, savory monosodium glutamate!

@  TheMightyMol... : (25 April 2017 - 10:58 AM)

If you're eating cheap Chinese, nutritional value is probably not the first thing on your mind.

@  Paladin : (25 April 2017 - 10:56 AM)

depends on where you get them from, but sometimes the paper has more nutritional value.

@  Robowang : (25 April 2017 - 10:21 AM)

I have actually eaten the cookie without opening it before. I didn't realize it until my wife asked what my fortune was.

@  BlackMax : (25 April 2017 - 09:18 AM)

It's like the fortune cookies. After getting so many over the years I just barely notice them.

@  Pennpenn : (25 April 2017 - 09:17 AM)

Sorry, yeah, I also dislike any policy which involves including putting Optimus Prime in teriyaki chicken.

@  unluckiness : (25 April 2017 - 09:13 AM)

That sounds like an unfair assessment of the teriyaki chicken.

@  Pennpenn : (25 April 2017 - 09:10 AM)

Yeah but there's no way they weren't designing it with the Optimus Maximus or whatever in mind. That said I could just be annoyed because I dislike the "every line must have at least one Optimus Prime in there somewhere" policy that Hasbro seems to have.

@  WorkbenchManiac : (25 April 2017 - 08:29 AM)

that sounds both worrying and delicious

@  BlackMax : (25 April 2017 - 08:03 AM)

I am seriously feeling hungry occasionally because Quake's deep-red paint job looks JUST like the teryaki chicken at my favorite Chinese eatery.

@  unluckiness : (25 April 2017 - 06:41 AM)

Hard to say. The bot mode's okay and the the combiner form is the awful on. Considering that Prime didn't have a combiner form back then and could have looked like anything, seems that there were other factors at play.

@  Pennpenn : (25 April 2017 - 02:48 AM)

I'd say a lot of CW Menasor's problems were caused by the fact he had to share a mold with Optimus Prime.

@  unluckiness : (24 April 2017 - 09:27 PM)

giggity

@  BlackMax : (24 April 2017 - 08:44 PM)

TR Astrotrain can be remarkably straight.

@  Dracula : (24 April 2017 - 04:10 PM)

bot can not be straight

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 April 2017 - 01:49 PM)

Hey man, don't dongshame.

@  Benbot : (24 April 2017 - 12:32 PM)

#crotchproblems

@  Robowang : (24 April 2017 - 11:53 AM)

Menasor's problem is that his crotch is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high. I couldn't care less about those other issues. If your dong is a chestburster, something ain't right.

@  BlackMax : (24 April 2017 - 11:40 AM)

Seems like all the combiners have an issue like that, the legs can never be completely straight in combined mode, the finished big bot is always looming eerily or hip-thrusting.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (24 April 2017 - 11:39 AM)

I doubt having an integrated trailer would have swayed me into buying CW Motormaster. But what definitely put me off were Internet reports of awful hip ratcheting.

@  BlackMax : (24 April 2017 - 11:36 AM)

I might also mention that ~not~ being a big truck has worked for the Internet pretty well.

@  unluckiness : (24 April 2017 - 11:32 AM)

I moaned about Motormaster because his combiner mode was awful

@  Rycochet : (24 April 2017 - 11:31 AM)

People moaned about the choices made during Combiner wars.that meant characters like Motormaster/Menasor weren't G1G1G1.

@  BlackMax : (24 April 2017 - 11:23 AM)

He could always be a very small red truck.

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 April 2017 - 10:59 AM)

But how will you know it's Optimus Prime if he's not a big red truck?

@  Broadside : (24 April 2017 - 10:20 AM)

Personally, I'm not a fan of the extreme-accuracy trend. The character choices are kind of sure-fine-whatever, but outside of stuff like Alpha Trion that's a huge divergence from the source material, there doesn't feel like there's much imagination in the designs any more.

@  Pennpenn : (24 April 2017 - 05:03 AM)

Because you might as well start as you mean to go on?

@  Nevermore : (24 April 2017 - 04:16 AM)

It does. Preview image is Legion's penis tongue.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (24 April 2017 - 04:15 AM)

Hold it. Please tell me Kiss Players doesn't have a GoBox.

@  Autobot Bubbs : (24 April 2017 - 03:10 AM)

That is epically messed up

@  Autobot Bubbs : (24 April 2017 - 03:10 AM)

GURD.... youtube just auto-played a new trailer for the Alien flick.... featuring John Denver's 'country roads' as BG music....

@  Noideaforaname : (24 April 2017 - 12:37 AM)

The Generations lineup should be decided by hitting Random Page on the wiki. "Next one is... Crankstart." 'Alright, I love the Scavengers!' "No, no, CrankSTART. The repaint of a repaint of a repaint of a Scout version of a Deluxe based on a background vehicle from the Live Action film." 'Oh'

@  RichardT1977 : (23 April 2017 - 11:31 PM)

After we get a couple of Pretenders. And a Titans Return Star Saber (not a difficult retool from Galvatron).

@  BlackMax : (23 April 2017 - 10:21 PM)

I really do like all the attention to the 80s toys, being from that era myself. However, I would be really happy if (let's say post Trypticon) the Generations line turns to the 2001 RiD line, Beast Wars stuff, and moves forwarda bit.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (23 April 2017 - 08:19 PM)

I'm curious because I'm not an 80s kid nor have I ever held an actual 80s toy in my hands, but I'm pretty sure a mathematically significant portion of 80s kids here do have a like for cartoon accuracy.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (23 April 2017 - 08:15 PM)

How much of this community favors versus not favors the current Hasbro design team's general trend of accuracy to classic 1980s toys and lack of attention to any other era of Transformers?

@  Fruitloop Mu... : (23 April 2017 - 07:36 PM)

Telly, ah, got it.

@  Evac : (23 April 2017 - 06:41 PM)

"You can do magic things!" "It's called evil, kid."

@  Foffy : (23 April 2017 - 06:27 PM)

Toiletbot!
QUOTE
Official sources within Dairycon today revealed a picture of yet another
Dairycon exclusive:

It can be none other than Toiletbot!
Holy Crap!

This is one for the record book, folks. Toiletbot was last seen about 10 years
ago... just before the first Dairycon Convention :-)

Sporting what appears to be articulation and a number of accessories, Toiletbot
marks his triumphant return as a fully-realised production figure for the
Dairycon Convention. Suffice it to say, Dairycon is staying close to its roots
with this one.

Toiletbot will be offered as a Limited Lucky Draw exclusive item to those who
attend the Dairycon Convention. Limited to a handful of pieces at the show, he
will come handsomely packed and with a full array of secret accessories!

Although it's too-late to register for Dairycon, you can watch the site for
additional reveals and updates. It will be a great treat, especially for those
lucky enough to attend!

If you haven't already heard, Confirmation Packets for Dairycon will be mailed
out the week of March 30th. As always, you can visit the Dairyland Transfans
site here:

http://www.freewebs....ylandtransfans/
Or their mirror-site here:
http://www.geocities...rylandtransfans

Excelsior!

Also discovered would be an image of his Toilet Altmode:

If any of you find him oddly familiar, it's possible you may have seen him before. He appeared at the Botcon '99 art contest, and was shown in Toyfare Magazine (Issue #27) and Lee's AFN #83!

Again, check out the Dairyland Transfans site for more information about this and other figures from this (and past) Dairycons.

I learned real fast that one of the more hilarious aspects of Dairycon is the virtual impossibility of aquiring a complete set of all the exclusives at these conventions! They pulled a rotten trick with that Stormsword a couple years back. icon-hotrod.gif

Holy Crap indeed.

I've been going to these since '05 and Fred and his pals put on a great show every year. I can't wait for this one! icon-fire.gif icon-fire.gif icon-fire.gif

Really, Toiletbot holds a place of honor and esteem for us DTFers. No hate there.

But we give 'im a lotta jive. icon-hotrod.gif And Fred does love his Jumpstarters...all I-dunno-how-many-hundred of 'em. icon-fire.gif

Nothing is impossible for a psychotic completist! Nothing! (I mean, if 'since '05' is true, you've seen the bidding wars...)

Hey, I don't know how many times I have to say it, but if there's any Dairycon figure I'd like to get my hands on, it's Heffer. I have a thing for the Huffer/Pipes mold, and the cow-themed paintjob is nothing but pure win. I'm hoping to get at least two of the Ass-09 figures, since it's a multi-con exclusive (at this point I'm *planning* on attending Dairycon AND Gamer's Reuinion), but there's no way I'll be able to make it to Cybcon or the Dutch Botcon (and let's forget about the super-secret Autocon group's figure at the moment).

And speaking of Fred's Jumpstarters, I've got a pic of the army of them that are used for the Jumpstarter Races...

-And I'm pretty sure he's got more around, as (for some reason) I seem to recall him asking for moreof them (working or not)...
