Yup, let's keep the politics in P&R folks, please and thank you.

@  unluckiness : (24 January 2017 - 05:38 AM)

Having a shitty person as president isn't an excuse to turn everything into a low-rent Youtube comments section.

@  Pennpenn : (24 January 2017 - 04:55 AM)

I'm tellin' ya, you'd better get used to it. People ain't gonna miss an opportunity to drag Trump like the heavy load he is just because he's president now.

@  unluckiness : (24 January 2017 - 04:47 AM)

Oh joy, even this thing's devolved into politics. What's the matter, the status update bar not enough for ya?

@  Echowarrior : (23 January 2017 - 09:41 PM)

We don't need a magic wand to make the national debt grow, thanks very much.

I'd rather have Rita or Zedd. ;)

Damning with faint praise there.

@  Bass X0 : (23 January 2017 - 03:06 PM)

Kodos would be a better president than Trump.

No, all the evils people voted for in 2016 were known.

@  Rycochet : (23 January 2017 - 09:35 AM)

Didn't people have enough of voting for unknown evils in 2016? Come on, it's so last year.

@  Robowang : (23 January 2017 - 08:49 AM)

woooo Unknown Evil

@  ▲ndrusi : (23 January 2017 - 08:21 AM)

Jinbu has legs that go all the way up.

@  Rycochet : (23 January 2017 - 07:11 AM)

Unless you really like legs that go all the way up to the armpits.

@  Rycochet : (23 January 2017 - 07:11 AM)

I would say repaint Jinbu from Transformers Go, but let's not, they're just awful.

@  Pennpenn : (22 January 2017 - 07:20 AM)

He's samurai themed? Anyway, I meant "samurai themed" in the Bludgeon's Pretender shell sense.

Fair enough, sorry. Although, I think as more people get upset you're going to see it leaking out more.

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 January 2017 - 06:25 PM)

Can the politics stay in P&R? I don't really need an emetic that badly.

@  Pennpenn : (20 January 2017 - 05:37 PM)

All of Trump's base are stone cold morons, so there's that. Then again, a lot of people would argue that America has nevr been "great", or even when it is there's plenty to bring down it's score.

@  Vexwing : (20 January 2017 - 04:18 PM)

A lot of Trump's base would probably claim it stopped being great 8 years ago.

@  Locoman : (20 January 2017 - 03:44 PM)

And today is National Cheese Lover's Day, apparently, so perhaps we should make America grate again while we're at it

@  Bass X0 : (20 January 2017 - 03:43 PM)

How long has it not been great for?

@  Nevermore : (20 January 2017 - 02:34 PM)

Finally, America is great again.

I finally got around to picking up Classics Onslaught today, and his siren repeats appropriately when the button is held down.

For all two of you who don't already have him or those of you with upsetting variant-completism, this may be of some interest. Sorry if this has been reported already.

I wonder if there's any way I can fix that problem myself... I just can't see myself spending 40$ Canadian on the same toy just for a longer siren sound. Not unless Hasbro announces a recall or something.

You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world....

LV:

Is there any way to tell by looking at the package if it's the corrected version? I've already got mine, and I don't mind the chirp (if the traffic won't move, it's their problem.) It would be fun to know if the one I bought off Amazon for the toy drive is fixed or not.

Just push the red button until the siren sound comes on, and hold it down and see if the siren repeats. icon-fire.gif

As the gentlemen above say: press the button through thw window.

There's no callout or anything. I'm sure it's the same packaging as the original one, but I don't actually have the initial batch with which to compare.

DUH!!!! Just buy the new corrected one, then put the old screwed up version in the box & return it. That's what I did.

I can't believe how many people are dumb enough to say something like "I can't see myself buying a second Onslaught." Nobody has to buy 2 Onslaughts, just buy the good one & take the bad one back. It's not our fault they shipped out broken toys. Let the store send them back to Hasbro.

I remember my G1 Roadbuster's arm snapped off the 1st time I tried to transform him. We took it back to the store. IT WAS BROKEN! Your Onslaught is BROKEN! Take it back & get one that works. Double DUH!!!!

that's where you are wrong....it ain't broken, it's sound clip doesn't have a loop programmed into the soundchip. and besides the toy AIN'T BROKEN, so right back to the shelf it will go and some poor kid will buy it and they are stuck with the defective onslaught....and that ain't right

That's not really toy swapping as we usually define it. I mean, the toy WAS technically defective, and you're only returning a toy that we all gladly bought for months. And it's not as if someone can't test the damn thing in the package when they see it in the store, same as any other Onslaught.

This thread raises some interesting ethical questions.

As a happy medium, you might either intentionally break the defective toy and return it, or return it as pristine as possible with a note explaining the return should the store be unethical and put it back on the shelf and have someone else buy it.

Hopefully he returned it as he would a normal broken item though, and told the store it was broken when he returned it. If he just returned it "as new" and bought a new one, and it gets put back on the shelf...

Well if you tell them your toy had a defect they aren't supposed to put it back one the shelf.

Like I've returned several tfs to my local TRU and I've NEVER seen them on the shelf again because I told them there was a problem, but there are places that just don't care. Which is why we see energon downshifts in a movie blackout box.

And while I don't support it, what rip says isn't toy swapping really. Its the same exact toy with one difference most kids wouldn't even know about, but like I said I'd never do it, and it still feels a little underhanded.

I don't know... I like my one time chirp on Onslaught before he gives out a salvo of machinegun fire. It makes you think he's cruel enough to mockingly give a chirp before he fires and plows traffic out of the way when battling Autobot scum.

It does, a little, but I still take Walky's point. You wouldn't be profiting on the deal, you end up with the same toy you already had for the same price. You're not denying anyone an Onslaught, because they can still buy that same toy and judge for themselves if the defective noise makes a difference to them. The store's not being denied anything either, they've got the same item for sale when all is said and done.

The only really unfair scenario is if someone who was completely ignorant about the defect--but, had he known, would have opted for the new version--happens to buy a defective return and discovers the difference later, and is unable or unwilling to return it himself.

Eh, I never kept the batteries in for long, anyway. Our flashlights and other small, useful electronics around the house could use them instead.
