Ha! Talk about getting away with something!

@  Maximus Ambus : (01 June 2020 - 09:08 AM)

Carnivac was still an evil Decepticon at heart, and no one shot him in the back for it.

*stares at the light switch* .... I see what you did there

I feel a need to lighten up the mood.... ;)

@  -LittleAutob... : (30 May 2020 - 10:38 AM)

:p

@  Maximus Ambus : (30 May 2020 - 02:14 AM)

Shockwave did it.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (30 May 2020 - 12:21 AM)

I'm not in the US and at least some of the episodes seem to work for me. I don't know the actual list of places it's available, though.

@  Shockwave 75 : (29 May 2020 - 10:37 PM)

Unfortunately It seems Cyberverse is only available in the US on YouTube.

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 May 2020 - 09:19 AM)

Yes, and its ongoing.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (29 May 2020 - 01:05 AM)

Cyberverse is already officially uploaded to YouTube.

@  fourteenwings : (29 May 2020 - 12:36 AM)

Spin Master is abridging current episodes of Bakugan Armored Alliance and posting the result on YouTube. Maybe Hasbro does that someday too.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 10:59 PM)

I see... :/

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 08:14 PM)

Within the US anyway. Those channels aren't easy or cheap to access in other countries, and their website often region lock content. Tubi is the only good thing on that list: largely identical (but not perfectly so. Damnit. I wanna watch COPS.) country to country and free.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:24 PM)

So yeah, Hasbro is using plenty of venues to spread exposure of their brands

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:23 PM)

Starz currently licenses Transformers G1 and the GI Joe movie (as well as MLP specials). Netflix has more current series available.

@  Nevermore : (28 May 2020 - 07:21 PM)

Study shows: Holders of the title "world's oldest person" have a severely increased risk of dying.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:18 PM)

Tubi TV and Youtube both host various Hasbro cartoons. Both are freely accessed and ad supported. Any basic TV package (barring straight antenna) includes channels like USA Network, SyFy and FX, all of which regularly air the films from Transformers and GI Joe.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 06:18 PM)

I dunno what to tell you, media might be changing slowly, but at least it's still accessible. Even the folks that DON'T get one of the streaming services can watch it on the company website. It's a vehicle for the toy line after all, they need to make an effort to make it as consumable as possible.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 05:41 PM)

Well. Thats said, then.... I guess... :doh

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 04:13 PM)

As long as the the cartoons are profitable, then they'll make more. The media it's shown on is completely irrelevant. I say that as a guy whose earliest surviving memory is a big red truck turning into a big red robot.

@  ZakuConvoy : (28 May 2020 - 03:06 PM)

Might be the end of an era. With the rise of streaming, who knows if Transformers will ever be on broadcast TV again.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 11:46 AM)

3 seasons on a show is usually enough... but yeah ;-;

@  Roddie Luver : (27 May 2020 - 09:37 PM)

I’m also sad Cyberverse has no season four.

@  Paladin : (26 May 2020 - 08:10 PM)

it's too hugging hot today.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

I'll agree with you on that.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

*Figured -_-

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 03:39 PM)

I fugured

@  Steevy Maximus : (25 May 2020 - 01:37 PM)

I'm actually sad Cyberverse won't get another season. 2 and 3 (of what I've seen) have REALLY nailed it in being fun little actions shows, like the Sunbow series.

@  Rycochet : (25 May 2020 - 01:00 PM)

Yes.

@  Maximus Ambus : (25 May 2020 - 12:52 PM)

I'm waiting for Animated season 4. Am I insane?

@  wonko the sane? : (25 May 2020 - 11:22 AM)

I'm waiting for the next season to show up on netflix.

@  Sabrblade : (25 May 2020 - 10:59 AM)

Many of us have already watched the rest of the Cyberverse episodes since the whole third season aired in the UK last September.

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 10:18 AM)

*9th

@  -LittleAutob... : (25 May 2020 - 10:17 AM)

I just saw the 8th episode... omg

@  Bass X0 : (25 May 2020 - 01:28 AM)

Already seen it online.

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 09:42 PM)

Who's excited for tomorrow? The only thing that makes Monday worth it is the Cyberverse episodes .-.

@  wonko the sane? : (24 May 2020 - 12:30 PM)

Welcome. I just came into that trick myself recently, so happy to share.

@  Nevermore : (24 May 2020 - 12:05 PM)

Thanks, wonko the sane? for the tip with the cloning. That helped a lot!

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 12:02 PM)

Heheh.... yes... I don't think a sniper would be very good at making a vaccine... 0.0

@  Nevermore : (24 May 2020 - 11:48 AM)

All right! Cloning my old HHD to an SSD and then swapping out the drive was successful, it would appear. Finally.

@  Bass X0 : (24 May 2020 - 11:30 AM)

Scientist Perceptor is. Sniper Perceptor less so.

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 10:51 AM)

Perceptor would be more responsible.

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 10:48 AM)

Oof x~x

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 May 2020 - 10:45 AM)

He'd cure the virus, but he'd probably commit at least two crimes against nature and weaponize a third in the process.

'Horrible consequences' would most likely happen with Brainstorm...

@  -LittleAutob... : (24 May 2020 - 08:16 AM)

Totally. And Percy's not even human. XD

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 May 2020 - 06:50 AM)

Can't do much worse than our current government, I say go for it.

@  Sabrblade : (23 May 2020 - 10:13 PM)

Little do we realize that the Perceptor in question is the Mini-Con combiner. :p

@  -LittleAutob... : (23 May 2020 - 10:11 PM)

He would!!!

Remember first time you heard the term "Clone Wars"? I thought a war against a clone - or multiples - of yourself, with all your abilities and possibility to mimic you. . . . Frankly I still think my version is better.

I thought this as a kid and thought it sounded stupid, as a kid. What actually happened has the distinction of making sense in Star Wars tech - honestly, it's a really neat concept, IMO, and the least gimmicky thing possible for something called "the clone wars."

wasn't there backups anywhere? It's a technology, after all, you can build cloning centers all over the galaxy once you got the technical know-how on how to do it and make the machines.

They seemed to like their exclusivity.

Yes. I get technicality. But he's not a robot. He's a human. I find his bunghole behaviour in lying/deceiving/whateveryouwanttocall it a lot more far fetched than it being a simple plot hole by a man didn't have it all worked out in his mind years ago.

Frankly, the prequels give the original film some credit in ways that aren't acknowledged. The first time we see Anakin wield a red saber is still the duel between Vader and Obi-Wan. Artoo's seeming knowledge of Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan's dodging of Luke's question there take on a new conspiratorial air - or, really, just a bit more of one that was already present because of the shared knowledge that they do have, if not of each other. Things like that show some attempt at really, genuninely writing backwards. It is not possible for a work like this to be anything but an assload of retcons. The question is, are they done well? In at least some cases, I think they certainly are.
Shouldn't gravity be doing something?

Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?

Seems Palpatine was betting it all on the hopes that one planet on the fringes of his rule would NOT be attacked by his enemy. It's like America putting all their military forces in say, Pittsburgh PA, and hoping no one in the world ever does anything to it.

You're assuming Palpatine wanted to win the Clone Wars. Remember, the war and everything related to it were all a Sith plot. The only purpose of the war was to spread the Jedi out so they'd be isolated and could be killed off and/or discredited. The clones themselves were just needed to kick-start the GAR and to stir up controversy about the Jedi using expendable slaves. And to draw Mandalorians into the fight to keep the Jedi distracted (any hints of subterfuge would just be blamed on the mando'ade, because that's just how "they" are).

Eventually, the clones will have outlived their usefulness, and it serves Palpatine's purposes to have the technology eliminated from the public eye. This also means he can institute a draft, which is a great cover to get rid of any dissidents, and serves to bring in people who may not be as loyal to the Jedi as the bred-to-be-obedient clones.

The draft also creates public dissent, which helps sustain the inevitable Rebellion, which gives Palpy an excuse to retain martial law.

(And there were backup Spaarti cylinderss, they were just a carefully-kept secret --another step of Palpatine's plan. Read Republic Commando: True Colors, the Thrawn trilogy, and the Dark Empire comics to see where that led.)

This is what I love about the EU; Palpatine is downright scary.

Palpatine needed to achieve his goals. Said goals were to destroy the Jedi, defeat the Seps (some of whom were not controlled entirely by him), and have the manpower required to supress rebellions to his new rule. He needed the clones, and lots of them, to do all three. And he needed to do ALL 3 to win.
One major natural disaster or one battle gone off course would have destroyed his clone production.

And I'm going by movies only, because that's what the very vast majority of the people see. That's all that the bulk of people that know Star Wars ever gets to doing. EU is nice n'all, but, it's lower tier in canon. Further, the EU is written by people who have a brain and can think critically, and that is just so jarring with Lucas' visions in the movies that they seem like two different universes! icon-arcee.gif
Also, where do we see the Jedi using slaves, or the Mandalorians?

Okay well I don't consider games to be on any level canon.

They are unless something with more prominence contradicts them.

One of the few things I like about Star Wars is their canon policy.

One of the many things I hate. And it's been my experience that discounting anything that's not on the screen leads to worlds less contradiction. When I'm playing a game or game series, I consider those games canon, but if I'm just watching the movies I've seen no reason aside from George Lucas wanting more royalties to consider the EU to be canon.

Similarly, if I'm watching the Highlander it's nonsense to consider the TV series canon, but if I'm watching the TV series then of course it becomes canon.

It's like an onion. A horribly rotten, stinky onion.

Well, if you go only by the movies, of course it makes no sense, because Lucas can't write. People can change their entire moral alignment like flipping a light switch, skilled and highly-trained soldiers become morons who can't shoot straight when confronted by an untried farmboy, and people who've lived, suffered, fought, laughed, and faced death side by side for years will immediately turn on each other without question as soon as some politician light-years away gives an order.

And I'm sure Palpatine had backup plans if Kamino had come under attack before he was done with it (they weren't the only cloners, they were just the best --I'm sure that Kaminoan technology & know-how could've found its way to someone else if needed). He just never needed those plans because Dooku was skilled enough at controlling his own side of the war.

Also, You underestimate just how much "under control" Palpatine's enemies are. Just because they won't listen to you (or even if they openly defy you), doesn't mean you can't make them do whatever you want at any given time. Mace Windu was the best "apprentice" Palpatine could've hoped for.

I consider the clones themselves to be slaves (living, sapient beings, used as cannon fodder and not considered citizens).

And the GAR was cloned from a Mandalorian, which led to most Mandalorians joining the Seps in outrage (except for a handful who'd already been hired as Officers by the Republic to train the clones, and even they weren't fond of the Jedi).

So, really, the Clone War was the Mandalorian War Round 2, complete with leading to the rise of a new Sith Lord? icon-waspy.gif
