Has anyone played Dynasty Warriors Gundam?

Gameplay is pretty solid, but repetitive and even though you can upgrade Gundams with parts found throughout the game at times it doesn't feel like your doing much to change your Mech. You also have an annoying inconsistency with each Gundams attacks (Is very jarring moving from a traditional Gundam to a G Gundam for example) and this can make you ignore or not want to play as certain characters. However, the in game models are fantastic and each Gundam looks just right. Its also quite satisfying smashing your way through large crowds of enemey Mobile Suits, which there are loads of.
If you see it cheaper later on down the road, pick it up as a Gundam fan, but right now it may be worth looking for something with a bit more depth for that price.

I love DW, so I loved it.

First, the gameplay is fun. I like that part of it a lot. I've never played a DW game before, but it was very easy to get into, and it was fun leveling up characters to get them new special moves.
There are two modes: Official Mode and Original Mode. Official Mode lets you play through events from the anime series (Gundam, Zeta, Double Zeta). You get to play as Amuro, Judau, Scirroco, etc. It's a ton of fun to see the events from the anime unfold. You even get to kill Lalah!
On the other hand, original Mode is just a jumble of battles with no coherent plot. Besides the lack of plot, Original Mode is incredibly repetitive. You play through the same levels over and over. There are different enemies and allies (sometimes), and different dialogue (sometimes), but it gets boring.
So, basically Official Mode is awesome and Original Mode is medicore. Now, the mediocreness of Original Mode wouldn't be a problem if there were enough Official Mode levels to compensate, but there aren't. Official Mode has only 6 playable characters with about 4 levels each. On the other hand, Original mode has about 15 playable characters with about 5 levels each. So basically the game is only about 25% Official Mode and 75% Original Mode. (This is the case despite the cover art and intro movie depicting Original Mode...)
In summary, when you play through Official Mode, you'll probably really enjoy it. As you play through Original Mode, you'll probably start getting bored. If they made a DW Gundam that was just 100 levels of official mode, I would probably give it a glowing review. But it's mostly Original Mode, unfortunately.
One thing I thought was notable about this game is that it's the closest thing ZZ is going to get to an English dub :-P That was kind of neat.
Also, it's fun to get the Musha Gundam (after beating the six protagonists' original modes) and kick everones' asses really fast with it in levels that are normally difficult or time-consuming.

I can't stand how whiney most of the UC pilots are.
