I recall number 73 (old british show) discussing the Transformers movie and had the presenters trying to transform a few figures, one argued his deflated beach ball was a Transformer too.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (11 July 2020 - 08:03 AM)

And he's a big ball, but he's not the biggest ball of them all. (That'll be Pulse Unicron.)

@TheMightyMollusk Ah, but the series itself has pronounced "Bass" both ways. ;)  Oh, 90s English Capcom video game voice acting...

@  Maximus Ambus : (09 July 2020 - 03:14 AM)

Looking at my Titan Returns collection I can see they realised they didn't have to paint the Titan Masters after wave one, lazy bums.

@  Maruten : (08 July 2020 - 09:13 PM)

No, I'm going with "fish".

@  TheMightyMol... : (08 July 2020 - 04:19 PM)

He stated that it's in reference to the Mega Man character, so it follows the series' tradition of music names.

@  Cybersnark : (08 July 2020 - 03:59 PM)

The real question is if it's "bass" as in music or "bass" as in the fish.

@  Otaku : (08 July 2020 - 01:27 PM)

Well, at least now I know how to pronounce @Bass X0 's screen name. ^^'  Rather, I think I'd just forgotten.  In my defense, it really does look like an emoticon or maybe just "decoration", which is what a lot of folks add to their screen names online.  Usually because someone has the name they really want. XD

@  ▲ndrusi : (08 July 2020 - 01:27 PM)

Extremely unimpressed with your idea that someone making a negative observation you don't like means they "got triggered."

@  NotVeryKnightly : (08 July 2020 - 11:16 AM)

You know somebody asked "And this would be in relation to... what exactly?"

@  Bass X0 : (08 July 2020 - 11:15 AM)

Its because someone got triggered over my random musings instead of just ignoring them. If I read one of your comments that is of no relevance or interest to me, I don't feel the need to say so.

@  -LittleAutob... : (08 July 2020 - 10:56 AM)

@  Nevermore : (08 July 2020 - 06:11 AM)

How do you pronounce yourself? "Bass Ex-O" or "Bass Ex-Zero"?

@  Bass X0 : (08 July 2020 - 03:23 AM)

I did almost go with Vile Bass X0, because Vile is cool too.

@  ▲ndrusi : (07 July 2020 - 04:16 PM)

@  Bass X0 : (07 July 2020 - 01:02 PM)

Just something I read that I wanted to share. I heard "gray rock" mentioned in a video, so I looked it up and that was the definition.

@  TheMightyMol... : (07 July 2020 - 12:20 PM)

It's a fancy way of saying "Ignore annoying people".

@  NotVeryKnightly : (07 July 2020 - 12:15 PM)

"Bad Guys" #3, "Estranged" picks up where #2 left off and brings us to the familiar territory of the "Gargoyles Universe" version of Manhattan. It's a comfortable setting that we know quite well, and still manages to not detract from the more global setting this book is going for.

Hunter gets a lot of, much needed, fleshing out. For us long time fans, we already knew who she was and where she came from. But for new readers, or those who've been gone for a while, this is something they needed. Especially with Season Two Volume Two not yet on the horizon. While the plot doesn't move at the pace the first two issues did, this issue is all about character development, and that is not a bad thing. Hunter was my favorite member of the team ever since I first saw the leica reel back in 1998.

I loved the flashback, and watching them chase the demon into the Paris catacombs. Very creepy and atmospheric. It also sets up her relationship with her two brothers quite well. Although, I think a brief flashback to Jon accidentally crippling Jason was needed to give newbies more of a glimpse into Jon... whoops, I mean John's pathos.

The scene with Hunter and Jason was touching, and Jason's attitude was commendable. Yeah, he's not happy to be paralyzed, but he's not whining about it. He cowboyed up and is making the best of it.

Hunter and John Castaway, I loved. But the scene was way too short, I wanted more. But then, I get the feeling Hunter did to. But, she got called away. Like a professional, the mission comes first. I do look forward to their next meeting, assuming there is one.

Let's see, who's playing Celebrity Hockey on TV? Why it's (Sheena) Easton, (Diedrich) Bader, (Brent) Spinder, (Jeff) Bennett, (Jim) Belushi, (Cary-Hiroyuki) Tagawa, (William) Devane, (Jim) Cummings, and (Scott) Cleverdon. Or rather, the voice actors for Hunter, Jason, Puck, Matrix (leica reel), Fang, Yama (leica reel), the Director (leica reel), Dingo, and John Castaway. Except for Puck and the Director, everyone of those characters appear in this issue.

Finally, we begin to see the plot thicken. We know Castaway is being funded by the Illuminati, but we get a very strong hint that Hunter has a boss, too. Someone's backing her, and as Castaway said, it's not Canmore money.

Good issue. Looking forward to the next one.

It WAS a good issue. And they implied how the Tasmanian Tiger from issue #1 got his extinct pets. Wonder where Sevarius got the DNA for them?

The flashbacks were good. I still don't like Hunter much, but her interaction with her siblings (particularly John) was very nice.

The Casablanca Hotel...was that the crazy mind-warping hotel from that season 2 episode?

Yeah, I can't stand em. Same reason why I never really liked Demona a whole lot.

I mean, she's a good villain and I don't hate her or anything. She was usually the source of some of the show's best story arcs.

But if Weisman ever gives the series a proper conclusion...bitch gotta die.

The "revelation" that Jon Canmore is John Castaway didn't seem right to me... I mean, it worked for me personally, and I imagine for most of the audience, since it's been known through Weisman for ages now that they're the same guy. But this would be the first time, actually in-story, that it's been revealed, wouldn't it? Didn't seem to have the "surprise revelation factor" you'd expect.

Good issue, though. Good, indeed.

Actually, I kind of like that it didn't, because, well, honestly, who was he fooling? His brother and sister knew it was him right away, as well they should.

When I first saw him on TV (way back in 1996), I immediately thought "hey, Jon Canmore, what's he up to?" it never occurred to me that it was anyone but him... nor did I think it was supposed to be a mystery.

I don't think it needed to. I've never pursued the Greg Weisman reveal spoilers but I thought it was fairly understood from John Castaway's first appearance that he was Canmore. I don't believe this issue was ever meant as a reveal, and any tie in to Canmore would simply have been a refresher for readers not familiar with episodes not appearing on DVD.

Lost does this sometimes. They'll basically tell you something in a series of obvious clues that by the time a "reveal" happens, the educated audience pretty much already knows it. It's like when it's "revealed" that Senator Palpatine is the Emperor. Yeah... we're already there...

Anyway, great issue. The hockey stuff was hilarious. Puck to Spiner, then to Bennet. Haha.

Yeah, I agree. Greg and I had lunch back in December, and one of the things we talked about was Castaway. He never meant for it to be a mystery at all, so it wasn't designed to be. He wasn't going to beat the audience over the head with it the moment we first saw him, but at the same time there was so much there that made if obvious.

Jon Canmore - John Castaway. An obvious alias, especially since he recently used the Jon Carter alias.
The character model is basically the same. They just gave him a mustache and slicked back his hair.
The scars of the Hunter on his Quarryman uniform.
This is lost in the comic, but in the episode, when Castaway lost his temper with Vinnie, he dropped the faux English accent and slipped back into his Scottish accent.

Funny thing is, when I read #3 and his conversation with Robyn, as I read it, he was conversing with her in his Scottish accent, but slipped into his faux English accent as soon as he said "I'm not Jonny Canmore. I'm Castaway. John Castaway now."

My opinion is probably a result of the fact that the Goliath Chronicles was never shown over here back in the UK, and I found out about Canmore being Castaway before I ever SAW the episode, and then when I did see it in recent years, the fact that it wasn't stated made me think it was a mystery-that-didn't-get-revealed.

The Goliath Chronicles was shown here on Disney Channel. They had a rather big teaser campaign for it. I think Gargoyles was one of their most successful shows. The original series finale got a big primetime back-to-back showing.
